Abstract

This study explores the application of CNN-Transfer Learning for nondestructive chicken egg fertility detection. Four models, VGG16, ResNet50, InceptionNet, and MobileNet, were trained and evaluated on a dataset using augmented images. The training results demonstrated that all models achieved high accuracy, indicating their ability to accurately learn and classify chicken eggs’ fertility state. However, when evaluated on the testing set, variations in accuracy and performance were observed. VGG16 achieved a high accuracy of 0.9803 on the testing set but had challenges in accurately detecting fertile eggs, as indicated by a NaN sensitivity value. ResNet50 also achieved an accuracy of 0.98 but struggled to identify fertile and non-fertile eggs, as suggested by NaN values for sensitivity and specificity. However, InceptionNet demonstrated excellent performance, with an accuracy of 0.9804, a sensitivity of 1 for detecting fertile eggs, and a specificity of 0.9615 for identifying non-fertile eggs. MobileNet achieved an accuracy of 0.9804 on the testing set; however, it faced challenges in accurately classifying the fertility status of chicken eggs, as indicated by NaN values for both sensitivity and specificity. While the models showed promise during training, variations in accuracy and performance were observed during testing. InceptionNet exhibited the best overall performance, accurately classifying fertile and non-fertile eggs. Further optimization and fine-tuning of the models are necessary to address the limitations in accurately detecting fertile and non-fertile eggs. This study highlights the potential of CNN-Transfer Learning for nondestructive fertility detection and emphasizes the need for further research to enhance the models’ capabilities and ensure accurate classification.

Abstract

Wahana Mandiri Indonesia (WMI), located in Gerbosari, Samigaluh, Kulon Progo, Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta, is a producer and industrial center for herbal spices. The main activity of the WMI group is processing herbal plants both simplicia and empon-empon such as ginger, turmeric, white turmeric, nutmeg leaves, cinnamon leaves, clove leaves, cloves, clove stalks, cardamom, and lemon grass to be sold in the form of dried simplisia. Minimal knowledge of post-harvest herbal plant monitoring technology is the main obstacle for the WMI group, where monitoring is still conventional, causing the quality of both simplisia and medicinal herbs to not be optimal. Ahmad Dahlan University Service Team installed an integrated Internet of Things (IoT) based temperature and humidity monitoring system on the solar dryer dome which is useful for monitoring and maintaining temperature and humidity conditions in real time in normal and extreme weather. Intensive training and assistance related to the diversification of biopharmaceutical or herbal processing for the WMI Group was also provided to increase the effectiveness of herbal plant management. Empowering the WMI Group by embedding an IoT-based monitoring system and providing intensive training and mentoring is able to increase the independence of members in monitoring and managing post-harvest herbal plants and significantly increase the selling value of products.

Abstract

The different land quality causes farmers not to know the exact quality of their agricultural land. Improper processing of agricultural land can result in a decrease in the quality of a land. The content of soil macronutrients consists of nitrogen (N), phospor (P), and potassium (K), these contents that usually affect plant growth. The development of an optical transducer for which is used to measure the wavelength of an object in everyday life can use led sensors as a light source and photo diodes as light detection using the TCRT5000 sensor as an infrared wave transmitter module. The use of the internet of things at this time is very useful to facilitate monitoring. The use of naïve bayes to determine the resulting probability. the soil moisture content obtained averaged 20.63% and nitrogen content values with an average of 590, Phospor 513 and Potassium 670. The sending of data to ThingSpeak can be determined as desired. It is hoped that this research can be developed by refining the use of sensors and methods used to make it easier to apply in life.

Abstract

The village of Gerbosari has a program for cultivating spice rhizome plants as an effort to improve the economy. These plants are dried using a Solar Dryer Dome (SDD) as a solution to the rain-related issues. The SDD has an automatically controlled exhaust fan based on the measured temperature. Temperature and humidity readings are taken using DHT22 and DHT11 sensors, respectively. Weather conditions (clear or rainy) are detected using a rain sensor. Weather, temperature, and humidity monitoring are done through On The Spot (OTS) and Internet of Things (IoT) methods. OTS utilizes an LCD 16x2, while IoT utilizes the Blynk application and WhatsApp. The temperature errors for DHT22 and DHT11, respectively, are 1.572% and 0.721%, while the humidity errors are 5.223% for DHT22 and 3.214% for DHT11. If the error values approach 5% or more, program adjustments are necessary. Throughout the day, regardless of clear or rainy weather, the temperature inside the SDD is higher, and the humidity is lower than the temperature and humidity outside.

Abstract

Stunting is a serious problem caused by chronic malnutrition in children under five, causing stunted growth and having a negative impact on long-term health and productivity. Therefore, early detection of stunting is very important to reduce its negative impacts. Previous studies utilizing machine learning have proven the success of this method in various health applications, such as disease detection and the prediction of medical conditions. The results of this research are a comparative evaluation of five classifications, namely Logistic Regression, Decision Tree, Random Forest, K-Nearest Neighbors (KNN), and Support Vector Machine (SVM), in classifying stunted toddlers. The dataset used contains four important attributes: age, gender, weight, and height of toddlers, as well as a binary class label that differentiates between toddlers who are stunted and those who are not. The evaluation results show that KNN at K = 3 produces the highest accuracy of 94.85%, making it the best model for classifying stunting in toddlers. Apart from accuracy, other metrics such as precision, recall, and F1-score are used to analyze the algorithm's ability to solve this problem. KNN stands out as the best model, with the highest F1-score of 89.47%. KNN also manages to maintain a balance between precision and recall, making it an excellent choice for treating stunting in toddlers. Apart from that, the use of the AUC metric from the ROC curve also shows the superiority of KNN in differentiating between stunted and non-stunting toddlers. With a combination of consistent evaluation results, both in terms of accuracy and other evaluation metrics, this research proves that KNN is the best choice for overcoming the task of classifying stunting in toddlers.
