Abstract

Mutiara Mahakam Samarinda Institute of Health Sciences (STIKES-MM Samarinda) has a system for monitoring and evaluating the performance of lecturers or education staff. This system measures performance achievements in terms of teaching, research, and community service. . Nevertheless, since every segment of the system is not yet fully computerized, this then raises several obstacles in the process of monitoring and evaluating the performance, length of time to obtain the final assessment results and the low accuracy level of the assessment. This study aims to seeks solutions to these obstacles and offers an educator performance monitoring system that combines the Behaviorally Anchor Rating Scale (BARS) and Management by Objectives (MBO) methods to be assessed quantitatively based on the rating scores in measuring the two methods. The BARS method was focused on evaluating behaviour that would affect overall performance with an average score of 4.14%, while the MBO method was focused on evaluating according to Tri Dharma of higher education, namely teaching, research and community service.  The assessment system was then implemented to evaluate the performance of lecturers and education staff. Subsequently, the data obtained were analyzed to get the final result of the assessment. In particular for data from the MBO method, the analysis was carried out using step with and without KRA. This exploratory research succeeded in presenting the final results of the performance assessment of each lecturer who was assessed for both the value of the BARS and MBO methods. Data analysis from the MBO method ,  when calculated with and without KRA and KRA, showed some significant differences in MBO. For all lecturers, the difference in scores, if the average was 3.48%, then this assessment was more inclined to the BARS assessment, which had a better rating than MBO.

Abstract

Soil fertility is one of the main factors in cultivating chili peppers. Variables that need to be considered to support chili growth include soil temperature and pH. This study aims to monitor soil fertility using the DS18B20 temperature sensor and an Internet of Things (IoT)-based soil pH sensor combined with the Geographical Information System (GIS) algorithm. Ituses parameters of temperature values and soil pH values with geographic readings via GIS. The DS18B20 temperature sensor values and ground pH sensor are processed on the ESP8266 NodeMCU then displayed on a 20x4 LCD and sent to the ThingSpeak website in real time. Soil fertility testing is carried out in the morning and evening by comparing the measurement results of the DS18B20 temperature sensor and soil pH sensor with a standard tool, namely the 4in1Soil Survey Instrument. The results of soil fertility testing using the DS18B20 temperature sensor and soil pH sensor conducted in the morning obtained a temperature accuracy of 95.36% and a pH accuracy of 95.96%. Meanwhile, the results carried out in the afternoon obtained a temperature accuracy of 94.36% and a pH accuracy of 89.96%. The implementation of GIS in this study succeeded in mapping the fertility of good and bad soils.

Abstract

Riau province is one of the provinces in Indonesia where forest fires frequently occur every year. Hotspot data is geothermal points and they can be utilized as an indicator of forest fires. Clustering’s method can be used to analyze potential forest fires from hotspot data’s cluster pattern. In this study, hybrid genetic algorithm polygamy with K-means (GAP K-means) was used for hotspot data clustering. GA polygamy was used to determine the initial centroid of K-means. It was used to solve the sensitivity of K-means to the initial centroid, and to find the optimal solution faster. Experimentally compared the performance of GAP K-means, GA K-means, and K-means on the hotspots data, two artificial datasets, and three real-life datasets. Sum square error (SSE), davies bouldin index (DBI), silhouette coefficient (SC) and F-measure are used to evaluation clustering. Based this experiment, GAP K-means outperforms than K-means but GAP K-means still not fast to achieve convergent than GA K-means.

Abstract

This study explores the application of CNN-Transfer Learning for nondestructive chicken egg fertility detection. Four models, VGG16, ResNet50, InceptionNet, and MobileNet, were trained and evaluated on a dataset using augmented images. The training results demonstrated that all models achieved high accuracy, indicating their ability to accurately learn and classify chicken eggs’ fertility state. However, when evaluated on the testing set, variations in accuracy and performance were observed. VGG16 achieved a high accuracy of 0.9803 on the testing set but had challenges in accurately detecting fertile eggs, as indicated by a NaN sensitivity value. ResNet50 also achieved an accuracy of 0.98 but struggled to identify fertile and non-fertile eggs, as suggested by NaN values for sensitivity and specificity. However, InceptionNet demonstrated excellent performance, with an accuracy of 0.9804, a sensitivity of 1 for detecting fertile eggs, and a specificity of 0.9615 for identifying non-fertile eggs. MobileNet achieved an accuracy of 0.9804 on the testing set; however, it faced challenges in accurately classifying the fertility status of chicken eggs, as indicated by NaN values for both sensitivity and specificity. While the models showed promise during training, variations in accuracy and performance were observed during testing. InceptionNet exhibited the best overall performance, accurately classifying fertile and non-fertile eggs. Further optimization and fine-tuning of the models are necessary to address the limitations in accurately detecting fertile and non-fertile eggs. This study highlights the potential of CNN-Transfer Learning for nondestructive fertility detection and emphasizes the need for further research to enhance the models’ capabilities and ensure accurate classification.

Abstract

The different land quality causes farmers not to know the exact quality of their agricultural land. Improper processing of agricultural land can result in a decrease in the quality of a land. The content of soil macronutrients consists of nitrogen (N), phospor (P), and potassium (K), these contents that usually affect plant growth. The development of an optical transducer for which is used to measure the wavelength of an object in everyday life can use led sensors as a light source and photo diodes as light detection using the TCRT5000 sensor as an infrared wave transmitter module. The use of the internet of things at this time is very useful to facilitate monitoring. The use of naïve bayes to determine the resulting probability. the soil moisture content obtained averaged 20.63% and nitrogen content values with an average of 590, Phospor 513 and Potassium 670. The sending of data to ThingSpeak can be determined as desired. It is hoped that this research can be developed by refining the use of sensors and methods used to make it easier to apply in life.
