Abstract

Kendala murid dalam menginterpretasikan konsep ilmiah pada materi Sistem Periodik Unsur yang bersifat abstrak serta belum optimalnya pemanfaatan media pembelajaran digital dalam pembelajaran kimia menjadi dasar dilakukannya penelitian ini. Studi ini berupaya untuk mengembangkan e-modul berbantuan Quizizz yang dikembangkan melalui penerapan model Problem Based Learning (PBL) dengan prinsip-prinsip pendekatan deep Learning pada materi Sistem Periodik Unsur untuk mendukung kegiatan pembelajaran yang menekankan interaksi aktif serta mendukung peningkatan pemahaman literasi sains murid. Penelitian ini menerapkan metode Research and Development (R&D) dengan mengacu pada model Lee & Owens yang terdiri atas beberapa tahapan, yaitu: analisis, desain, pengembangan, implementasi, dan evaluasi. Subjek yang terlibat dalam studi ini mencakup ahli materi, ahli media, guru kimia, serta murid kelas XI di SMAN 11 Muaro Jambi. Instrumen pengumpulan data meliputi validasi dan angket respons murid, yang kemudian diolah secara kuantitatif dengan metode persentase. Temuan penelitian menunjukkan bahwa e-modul yang dikembangkan termasuk dalam kategori sangat layak, dengan hasil validasi ahli materi sebesar 94,45%, ahli media 97%, serta penilaian guru mencapai 93,34%. Selain itu, uji coba kepada murid, baik pada uji coba one to one maupun kelompok kecil, menunjukkan respons yang sangat positif dengan persentase masing-masing 90% dan 93,12%. Mengacu pada temuan tersebut, media yang dikembangkan dapat dinyatakan telah memenuhi kriteria validitas dan kelayakan untuk digunakan sebagai pendukung pembelajaran yang dapat membantu murid memahami materi Sistem periodik Unsur secara lebih efektif.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the alignment of the academic information system at Jambi University (UNJA) using the Zachman Framework and to examine the Enterprise Maturity Level in the implementation of Enterprise Architecture within the Academic Information System (SIAKAD) of Jambi University. The study applies Enterprise Architecture Planning (EAP) as a reference method for developing information architecture. EAP is oriented toward business needs and consists of data architecture, application architecture, technology architecture, and an implementation plan. In addition, the Zachman Framework is used to assess alignment from three enterprise architecture functions: context, concept, and construction. The value chain profile of the academic information system business process is also identified and analyzed. The study found a value chain profile within the business processes of Jambi University’s Academic Information System (SIAKAD). The mapping results based on the Zachman Framework reveal the condition of each business component and provide a basis for evaluating the maturity level of Enterprise Architecture implementation in the system. This study provides recommendations for the future development of each business component of Jambi University’s Academic Information System based on the Zachman Framework. The findings contribute to improving the alignment of information systems with business needs and support the achievement of the university’s mission through better enterprise architecture planning.

Abstract

Chemistry learning on electrolyte and non-electrolyte solutions is still abstract and difficult to visualize, so it requires digital learning media that can encourage active student involvement in critical thinking. This study aims to develop digital flashcard learning media assisted by Quizlet, based on Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL), that are oriented towards critical thinking skills, to assess the feasibility of the media, teacher assessment, student responses, and to provide an overview of students' critical thinking skills after using the developed media. This research is a research and development (R&D) with the Lee & Owens model, which includes the stages of Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. The research subjects were grade XII high school students. The research instruments included validation sheets from material experts and media experts, teacher assessment questionnaires, student response questionnaires, and evaluation tests. Data were analyzed descriptively, quantitatively, and qualitatively. The results showed that material expert validation increased from 85% to 97% after revision, media expert validation increased by 90%, and teacher assessment increased by 90%, with a very feasible category. Student responses in the one-to-one trial were 86.6%, and in the small group trial were 86.25%, categorized as very good. The evaluation results, at 82.27%, indicate that students' understanding is in the very good category. Therefore, the digital flashcard learning media, supported by Quizlet and based on CTL, is highly suitable as an alternative learning medium for high school chemistry and has the potential to foster students' critical thinking skills.

Abstract

Penelitian ini didasari oleh hasil observasi awal yang menunjukkan tantangan murid dalam menghubungkan konsep kimia dengan aktivitas sehari-hari serta kecenderungan pasif pada kegiatan belajar, yang juga dipengaruhi oleh media pembelajaran yang diterapkan masih bersifat konfesional. Studi ini bertujuan untuk membuat e-LKPD berbasis proyek dengan memanfaatkan limbah organik yang berfokus pada kreativitas murid SMA. Pendekatan Research and Development (R&D) digunakan dalam penelitian ini dengan model pengembangan Hannafin dan Peck yang mencakup fase analisis kebutuhan, desain, serta pengembangan dan pelaksanaan. Subjek yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah murid kelas X Fase E di SMAN 8 Kota Jambi. Instrumen penelitian terdiri dari angket validasi dari pakar materi, pakar media, penilaian dari guru, dan angket terkait respon murid yang dianalisis dengan cara kuantitatif dan kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa e-LKPD yang dikembangkan memperoleh tingkat kelayakan sebesar 90,33% dengan kategori sangat layak berdasarkan penilaian ahli materi dan ahli media. Selain itu, e-LKPD tersebut juga mendapatkan respons yang sangat baik dari murid, sehingga layak dimanfaatkan sebagai media pembelajaran kimia hijau berbasis proyek.

Abstract

Purpose of the study: This study investigates the integration of PjBL with local wisdom to develop an innovative PjBL-Ethnoscience learning model. Incorporating ethnoscience-based approaches into PjBL, this model aims to equip students with 21st-century skills. Specifically, the research explores the potential of this model in the context of medicinal plant processing in Talang Duku Village, Jambi. Methodology: A qualitative approach was employed, utilizing surveys, interviews, and participant observation to gather comprehensive data on current medicinal plant processing practices and the potential impacts of implementing the PjBL-Ethnoscience model. The study involved close interaction with local practitioners and students to understand this integrated learning model's practical applications and educational benefits. Main Findings: The findings reveal that the PjBL model's syntax effectively applies to medicinal plant processing activities. This integration enhances students' understanding of biological concepts related to plants and connects them with local cultural practices. The study demonstrates that such activities can serve as a robust foundation for biology education, particularly in plant-related topics, fostering a deeper appreciation of local knowledge and sustainable practices. Novelty/Originality of this study: This research presents a novel approach by merging the PjBL model with ethnoscience, particularly in medicinal plant processing in Talang Duku Village, Jambi. The study preserves cultural heritage and promotes sustainable practices by leveraging local wisdom. This innovative model provides a science learning base intimately connected to students' cultural backgrounds, making education more relevant and engaging. The PjBL-Ethnoscience model enhances academic learning and instills a sense of community and environmental stewardship among students.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the application of the ethnochemistry approach in chemistry learning through the integration of betel chewing culture in functional group material using a scientific approach. The betel chewing culture involving materials such as betel leaves (Piper betle), areca nut (Areca catechu), and betel lime (calcium hydroxide) is known to contain various active chemical compounds, including alkaloids, phenols, esters, and alcohols. The scientific approach allows students to observe, ask, try, reason, and communicate the results of the analysis of these materials, so that they can understand the concept of functional groups in the context of local culture. This study uses a descriptive qualitative method with a literature study approach and participatory observation of the practice of betel chewing culture in the community. The results of the study show that the integration of local culture in chemistry learning can improve students' conceptual understanding, learning interest, and cultural awareness. The ethnochemistry approach has proven effective in creating contextual, meaningful, and relevant learning to students' daily lives. Therefore, the application of a local culture-based learning model through a scientific approach is recommended as an innovative alternative in chemistry learning.
