Abstract

This bibliometric study investigates the intersection of character education management and local wisdom, highlighting trends, patterns, and key areas of research from 1997 to 2024. Utilizing comprehensive databases, specifically Scopus, we analyzed 144 scholarly articles, citations, and keywords to map the evolution and impact of these topics in the educational field. The findings reveal a growing interest in integrating local cultural values within character education frameworks, underscoring the significance of contextualized learning in fostering moral and ethical development. Key publications such influential authors, and predominant countries contributing to this discourse, particularly Indonesia, are identified, providing a holistic overview of the current landscape. Co-authorship networks and keyword co-occurrence were visualized using VOSviewer and R Studio Biblioshiny, revealing collaboration patterns and common research themes such as "local wisdom," "character education," and "local knowledge". The potential for future research in the integration of character education and local wisdom is vast, particularly for Indonesian researchers who are already leading in this field. By developing and testing new curricula, focusing on the transition to higher education, fostering international collaborations, and exploring the holistic impact of character education, researchers can contribute significantly to the development of educational practices that nurture well-rounded and culturally aware graduates

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of visionary leadership based on integrity and professionalism on the quality of education in vocational high schools (SMK). The research method employed is quantitative, with data analysis techniques using Structural Equation Modeling-Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS). The sample consists of 246 vocational school teachers selected through cluster sampling in Bireun Regency, Aceh. The results indicate that visionary leadership based on integrity and professionalism has a significant impact on the quality of education in vocational schools. The school quality variable is explained by the visionary leadership construct, which comprises the dimensions of integrity and professionalism, accounting for 82.5% of the variance. The study finds that visionary leadership grounded in integrity and professionalism has a significant positive impact on educational quality in vocational high schools, explaining 82.5% of the variation in school quality. Professionalism-based leadership was identified as having the strongest influence on school quality, followed by integrity-based leadership and general visionary leadership, all of which proved statistically significant. The implications of these findings suggest that schools should emphasize strengthening integrity and professionalism in the leadership of school principals to sustainably improve educational quality. Enhancing visionary leadership will better equip schools to face educational challenges in the era of globalization and technological disruption. This research uniquely focuses on visionary leadership in vocational education, emphasizing integrity and professionalism as critical components, unlike previous studies that often addressed general school environments without these specific leadership dimensions.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the impact of school management and organizational culture on the performance of middle school teachers in Kepulauan Meranti Regency. This research employs a quantitative approach, relying on data from a population of civil servant teachers in 41 middle schools in Kepulauan Meranti Regency. The total population sampled in this study consists of 143 teachers. Data were collected through direct distribution of questionnaires to respondents in a field study. Regression analysis methods were used to analyze the relationship between the independent variables (school management and organizational culture) and the dependent variable (teacher performance). The results of the data analysis show that simultaneously, school management and organizational culture have a significant impact on teacher performance. The calculated F value (8.945) is greater than the table F value (2.67), and the significance value of 0.000 is less than 0.05. Therefore, the null hypothesis is rejected, and the alternative hypothesis is accepted, indicating that these variables collectively have a significant impact on the performance of middle school teachers in Kepulauan Meranti Regency. This study is limited to the population of civil servant middle school teachers in Kepulauan Meranti Regency, so the results may not be generalizable to teachers in other regions or with different employment statuses. The findings of this study provide practical implications for school administrators and educational policymakers to enhance teacher performance through improvements in school management and organizational culture, as well as effective workload management. This research contributes to the literature on the impact of school management, organizational culture, and workload on teacher performance in remote areas, which has been understudied.
