Abstract

The development of digital technology has made smartphones increasinglyintegrated into adolescents’ daily lives, both for academic and entertainmentpurposes. Excessive smartphone use may be associated with nomophobia, namely anxiety experienced when individuals are unable to use or accesstheir smartphones. One behavior that may increase smartphone use intensityis binge watching, while self-control is considered an internal factor that mayhelp regulate digital device use. This study aimed to analyze the effects ofbinge watching and self-control on nomophobia among students of SMK Negeri 3 Pati. This study employed a quantitative explanatory approachusing a survey method. The sample consisted of 319 students from grades X and XI selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected using a four-point Likert-scale questionnaire and analyzed using multiple linear regression. The results showed that binge watching had a positive andsignificant effect on nomophobia, with a significance value of 0.000 and a regression coefficient of 0.209. Self-control had a negative and significanteffect on nomophobia, with a significance value of 0.000 and a regressioncoefficient of -0.455. Simultaneously, binge watching and self-control had a significant effect on nomophobia, with a significance value of 0.000. Abstract

Bullying remains a common problem in schools, with verbal bullying being the most frequent form due to its tendency to be perceived as harmless joking among peers. Repeated behaviors such as teasing, mocking, insulting, and using offensive nicknames can cause significant psychological harm, highlighting the need for effective guidance and counseling interventions. This study aimed to describe verbal bullying behavior among students at SMA Negeri 1 Jekulo Kudus and examine the implementation of group counseling using problem-solving techniques to reduce such behavior. The counseling program was conducted in four stages: formation, transition, core activities, and termination. During the sessions, students learned to identify problems, generate and evaluate alternative solutions, and apply appropriate responses. The findings showed positive behavioral changes after the intervention, including increased awareness of the impact of verbal bullying, improved emotional regulation, greater empathy, and reduced teasing and offensive language. These results indicate that group counseling with problem-solving techniques is effective in reducing verbal bullying and promoting respectful communication among students.

Abstract

Accelerating the quality of primary education in the Merdeka Belajar era demands an adaptive reorientation of school management. However, principals' tendency to implement a uniform leadership model often overlooks teachers' diverse characteristics. This study aims to analyze the implementation of the principal's contingency leadership in improving school quality, describe adjustments to leadership style based on teacher readiness, and identify the factors that support and inhibit it. Using a qualitative approach with a hermeneutic phenomenological design, data were gathered through interviews, observations, and documentation in three public elementary schools in Cluwak, Pati. The findings reveal a dualism of reality between adaptive-situational patterns and formalistic standardization. Effective leadership style adjustments (shifting from selling to participating and delegating) successfully transform school quality into a substantive level, fostering instructional innovation and improving Education Report Cards. Conversely, rigid governance only fosters a compliance culture that reduces quality to mere paperwork. In conclusion, the acceleration of school quality is determined in large part by leadership style flexibility. Principals are suggested to develop periodic teacher readiness portfolios to provide proportional supervision and autonomy.
