Abstract

The biomassa charcoal briquet is one of principal component of cooking in household scale which has some weakness in its operation, such as take a long time for beginning ignitation, flame energy is not stable, the putting out can not be done quickly, once filling up for once cooking. Impractical operational of briquet stove  caused people did not want to change the use of petroleum stove to the use  of biomass briquet stove. Hence, biomass charcoal briquet stove is modified in order to simplify its operation by increase fungsional aspect, technique aspect, and economical aspect.            The method used in this research is value engineering method in order to choose one alternative of modification of biomass charcoal briquet  stove and analyze with five phase of job planning that include (1) information phase, (2) creative phase, (3) analysis phase, (4) development phase, and (5) presentation phase.            At the analysis phase, it is made analysis to eight alternatives of modification and one initial design which is used as reference of performance evaluation. The evaluation result at development phase is the seventh alternative of modification has the highest value that is 1,358 with performance 425,10 and gives some advantages, those are cooking speed is increased (boilling water in seven minute per liter), operational simplicity is very increased that is once filling up for cooking repeatedly (continue system), cutting out of fire can be done quickly without taking apart of stove (semi automatic), pollution is decreased and stinging smell is not happen.            Biomass charcoal briquet stove has high economic value, because its operasional is almost the same as petroleum stove and its operational cost is a quarter of petroleum stove cost.  So, it is good to be developed and applied to society.

Abstract

The biomass stove is designed to utilize fuel chunks.  The main principle of the stove design is to utilize the outside air coming into the stove through the hole on the underside. The air coming into the stove is divided becoming primary air and secondary air. The primary air enters from under the burning sleeve to the fuel, while the secondary air enters from the top hole of the burning sleeve and burns the combustion gas containing fuel-burning substances. In this study, the fuel used was corncob with a diameter of 3-4 cm, a length of 6-7 cm, and moisture contents ranging from 14%-16%. The stove used consists of 8 variations of the design model. Independent variables in this study were plate thickness, outer air hole diameter, secondary air hole diameter, and primary air hole diameter. While the dependent variables investigated were boiling time and flaming duration. The fastest boiling time was 2.07 minutes achieved from the stove designed no 3. Meanwhile, The longest flaming duration was 13.24 minutes shown by the stove no 6. There for the fastest burning rate was 0,00708 kg/s was sown  stove designed no 6, and the latest burning rate  was 0,00474 kg/s  achieved from the stove no 6. This different result is influenced by the density of the corncobe, the density of the biomass fuel  will be quikly burned and very fast oxidation.

Abstract

Agricultural waste such as corn cobs and coconut shell can be used as alternative energy. Biomass as an alternative energy can be used as a fuel in the furnace. Corncob has low calorific value and density, so it is necessary to examine the combination’s effect of corn cobs and coconut shell toward the performances of biomass furnace.The gasification furnace was the development of a furnace design on previous research. Diameter of combustion chamber is 25 cm, diameter of free air duct and secondary air duct is 2 cm, and primary air duct is 1 cm. Combined corncob and coconut shell in sequence are 100%: 0%, 80%: 20%, 60%: 40%, 40%: 60%, 20%: 80%, 0%: 100%. Investigated parameters showing the furnace performance were boiling time, FCR, power input, power output, power loss and efficiency are boiling time, FCR, operating time, power input, power output, power loss and efficiency. Test of operating time were conducted by burning fuel until burned out. Then boiling time test were conducted by heated 1 liters water from ambient temperature to boiling (between 95oC - 97oC) on a 24 cm diameter pan.The results showed that the largest operating time (1317.33 Seconds), smallest FCR (2.249 Kg/hour), smallest power loss (19.532 kW), and the highest efficiency (8.19%) obtained at 0% : 100% combination. The fastest boiling time (157 Seconds) and the largest power output (1.828 kW) was obtained at 40%: 60% combination. While the largest power input (29.286 kW) was obtained at 60%: 40%.

Abstract

 Dimasyarakat pulau kecil sering mengalami kesulitan dalam memasak karena langka dan mahalnya minyak tanah dan kayu bakar. Sedangkan tungku gasifikasi yang telah diteliti dan diapikasikan (gasifikasi biomassa single burner) , meskipun hasilnya sudah bagus , tetapi sulit diterima dimasyarakat karena pemasakan dilakukan langsung diatas tungku, sehingga keamanannya lemah karena bahaya terkena panas dinding tungku dan rancangan yang tinggi mengakibatkan kekhawatiran masyarakat, disamping itu sifatnya tidak bisa kontinyu dan pengapiannya tidak bisa dilakukan secara cepat, karena tungku dengan burner dirancang menjadi satu. Untuk itu maka pada program ini perlu dilakukan penelitian bagaimana merancang suatu tungku gasifikasi biomassa yang murah, mudah dan aman dalam pengoperasiannya dengan merancang bentuk tungku yang memiliki  multi burner dengan letak tungku dan burnernya terpisah, bagaimana merancang saluran penghantar dari tungku ke burner,dan bentuk burner yang sesuai sehingga dengan jauhnya tungku dan burner pengapian, keamanan dan kenyamanan masyarakat pulau kecil pengguna energi terbarukan (gasifikasi biomassa) terjamin, sehingga masyarakat mandiri energy di pulau kecil dapat diwujudkan..         Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode rekayasa nilai  untuk memilih satu alternatif  modifikasi pada tungku briket arang biomassa dan menganalisanya melalui lima tahap rencana kerja yang meliputi (1) tahap informasi, (2) tahap kreatif, (3) tahap analisa, (4) tahap pengembangan dan (5) tahap presentasi.          Pada tahap analisa, dilakukan analisa terhadap 8 alternatif modifikasi ditambah 1 desain awal, dimana desain awal digunakan sebagai patokan dalam penilaian performansi. Hasil penentuan nilai pada tahap pengembangan diperoleh bahwa alternatif modifikasi ke-7, mempunyai nilai tertinggi yaitu1,142   dengan performansi 427,83, dan biaya Rp. 1.850.000,0. Alternatif ini memberikan keuntungan antara lain, kemudahan operasionalnya sangat meningkat dapat dilakukan pengisian berulang tanpa mengganggu nyala api (sistem kontinyu), dan pemadaman api dapat dilakukan dengan cepat tanpa  pembongkaran tungku (semi otomatis),  pengguna tidak perlu memasak diatas reaktor gasifikasi yang panas dan tinggi, karena tungku ini didesain dapat memasak diatas burner yang jauh dari reaktor gasifikai, kecepatan pemasakan meningkat (mendidihkan 2 lt air dengan waktu 7 menit), pencemaran menurun dan tidak terjadi bau menyengat.          Tungku gasifikasi multiburner mempunyai nilai  ekonomi tinggi karena  kinerjanya hampir sama dengan tungku minyak tanah dan biaya operasionalnya sekitar 1/3 dari tungku minyak tanah, untuk memasak 2 lt air, menggunakan minyak tanah sekitar 1/10 lt (Rp. 1300), dengan tungku single burner membutuhkan sekam 2 kg (Rp. 400) dan dengan tungku ini membutuhkan 2 kg sekam (Rp.400), dengan melihat hal tersebut, maka tungku gasifikasi multibuerner, dari segi ekonomi sangat prospek untuk dikembangkan di masyarakat. Sebagai salah satu alternative pengganti tungku gasifikasi single burner, tungku minyak tanah dan kayu bakar dan sebagai salah satu agen dari green technology guna menciptakan masyarakat mandiri energi khususnya di pulau-pulau kecil

Abstract

Penelitian ini mengkaji strategi komunikasi politik yang digunakan oleh pasangan calon dalam meningkatkan dukungan elektoral melalui media sosial Instagram, dengan fokus pada konteks Administrasi publik. Dalam era digital, media sosial telah menjadi alat yang kuat untuk mencapai pemilih dan mempengaruhi opini publik. Dalam studi kasus ini, penelitian dilakukan untuk menganalisis bagaimana pasangan calon dalam Administrasi publik menggunakan Instagram sebagai platform komunikasi politik. Metode penelitian ini mencakup analisis konten dari postingan Instagram pasangan calon, wawancara dengan tim kampanye, dan survei terhadap pemilih. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pasangan calon memanfaatkan Instagram untuk membangun citra positif, menyebarkan pesan kampanye, dan berinteraksi dengan pemilih. Mereka menggunakan berbagai jenis konten, termasuk gambar, video, dan cerita untuk mencapai audiens mereka. Selain itu, pasangan calon juga mengikuti prinsip-prinsip dasar komunikasi politik, seperti personalisasi, segmentasi audiens, dan pemahaman tentang isu-isu yang penting bagi pemilih. Hasil penelitian ini memberikan wawasan tentang bagaimana strategi komunikasi politik melalui media sosial Instagram dapat memengaruhi dukungan elektoral dalam konteks Administrasi publik. Dengan pemahaman yang lebih baik tentang penggunaan media sosial sebagai alat kampanye, pasangan calon dan tim kampanye dapat meningkatkan efektivitas komunikasi politik mereka dan mendapatkan dukungan yang lebih besar dari pemilih melalui platform ini. Penelitian ini juga memberikan pandangan penting tentang peran media sosial dalam proses demokrasi dan administrasi publik modern.

Abstract

The Indonesian Amateur Radio Organization (ORARI) plays a crucial role in emergency communication and the development of amateur radio technology. However, a lack of attention to ergonomics in radio station design can lead to health issues and decreased operator efficiency. This study highlights the application of ergonomic principles in amateur radio stations to improve the comfort and efficiency of ORARI operators. Through a participatory approach, observations, questionnaires, and training were conducted on ergonomic sitting posture, optimal equipment arrangement, appropriate lighting, and workplace environmental factors. Evaluation results indicate that ergonomic implementation reduced back pain complaints by 33%, neck strain by 35%, and eye fatigue by 32%. Additionally, operator efficiency increased by up to 25% after ergonomic adjustments. Workstation modifications, including the selection of ergonomic chairs, optimal equipment placement, and proper lighting, contributed to enhanced comfort and productivity. This study confirms that applying ergonomic principles not only benefits the physical health of operators but also improves job satisfaction and communication effectiveness. These recommendations are expected to serve as a reference for ORARI in creating a healthier and more efficient working environment for its members.

Abstract

Most Indonesian people currently use energy derived from fossil fuels, such as fuel oil, gas and coal. The impact of using fossil fuels is that it can damage the environment. Several alternative energy sources that are commonly developed are biomass energy. This biomass is usually processed into biochar which is a fuel with a high calorific value and can be used in everyday life. Briquettes are an energy source derived from biomass which can be used as alternative energy. In this study, briquettes were made from teak, acacia and mahogany wood waste. The method used is an experiment with the carbonization process using a modified composing drum. The independent variables used were briquette materials from teak, acacia and mahogany wood waste, variations in the shape of cube, cylindrical and hexagonal jerry cans. Tests include analysis of water content, calorific value, and changes in temperature. The results of this study showed that the best moisture content was obtained from cylindrical teak wood waste briquettes with an average value of 3.57%. Then for the calorific value, the best results were obtained from cylindrical teak wood waste briquettes with a value of 3457.0 Kkal/kg. and for temperature changes the best results were obtained on the cube-shaped mahogany wood waste briquette specimens with an average value of 10 minutes 46 seconds.

Abstract

Sesuai dengan slogan Untar yaitu Untar untuk Indonesia, Untar untuk Dunia dan Untar selalu di hati, maka kegiatan pelatihan untuk peningkatan keterampilan merupakan salah satu peranan yang diberikan oleh Untar kepada masyarakat yang tidak berkesempatan mengikuti studi di Universitas Tarumanagara. Mitra yang bersedia diajak bekerjasama pada pelatihan keterampilan yaitu SMA Sunan Bonang Tangerang Banten. Berdasarkan wawancara diketahui bahwa pengetahuan, pemahaman dan keterampilan para siswa pada berbagai aspek yang berkaitan dengan kegiatan perancangan dan pembuatan suatu produk dirasa kurang. Semenara itu ketika telah lulus sekolah, lulusan harus memiliki pengetahuan dan ketrampilan tambahan agar lebih mampu bersaing. Maka sangat perlu kegiatan pelatihan peningkatan keterampilan. Untuk mitra ini diberikan pelatihan perancangan dan pembuatan produk meja bar minimalis ergonomis dan fungsional menggunakan bahan besi hollow, besi nako dan kayu lapis. Peserta belajar merancang konsep produk dengan karakterisik yang ditentukan. Praktik secara berkelompok mewujudkan produk meja bar dengan menggunakan peralatan yang ada di bengkel las. Elemen kerja yang dilakukan antara lain mengukur, memotong, menyerut, mengampelas, merakit, mengelas, menggerinda dan mengecat. Secara umum berdasarkan data kuesioner diperolah bahwa melalui pembekalan teori, wawasan dan praktik di bengkel kerja, kemampuan perancangan produk dan keterampilan kerja menggunakan peralatan bengkel las meningkat.

Abstract

The diffuser can increase air velocity in wind turbines by utilizing pressure differences, particularly in small-scale wind turbines. However, some previous research still uses a simple diffuser shape. One alternative diffuser shape is using the airfoil, the wortmann Fx 63-137 airfoil has high lift, exhibits soft stall characteristics, and has excellent overall performance. This study aims to analyze the wind velocity and wind power output generated by an airfoil-based diffuser. Aerodynamic simulations were used with an inlet wind speed of 5.6 m/s. The diffuser has a diameter of 1020 mm, with length to diameter ratios of 0.1, 0.137, 0.221, and 0.371, with angles of attack from 0° to 8° in 2° increments. The results show that the diffuser 0.371 ratio at an 8° angle of attack achieved the highest wind speed of 10.22 m/s, it generate 513 watts. Conversely, the lowest wind speed was observed with a 0.1 ratio at an 8° angle, where the velocity reached 6.58 m/s, producing 137 watts of wind power. Those findings indicate that diffuser length is directly proportional to wind velocity. However, variation in the angle of attack result in maximum wind velocity at specific angles, and wind power output is directly proportional to wind velocity.

Abstract

Darek, Farmers, POC, Socialization, Training. This study emphasizes the importance of community empowerment in the sustainable agriculture sector in Indonesia, particularly by promoting the use of chicken manure (kohe) as an alternative organic fertilizer. With the majority of its population engaged in agriculture, Indonesia faces challenges in food security, exacerbated by the dependence on chemical fertilizers that damage soil quality and environmental health. This study identifies the role of chicken manure in the production of organic fertilizers, specifically liquid organic fertilizer (POC), which contains essential nutrients that exceed those found in cow and goat manure. The aim is to educate local farmers in Darek village on the production and benefits of POC through workshops and training sessions. The project, conducted by students of the University of Mataram, aims to shift farmers’ dependence from chemical fertilizers to organic fertilizers, thereby encouraging sustainable agricultural practices. Initial assessments revealed a significant lack of awareness and interest among local farmers in organic alternatives due to ingrained habits that support chemical use. Following a structured approach that included surveys, expert-led training sessions, and hands-on POC production, the project reported positive responses from 32 participants, validating the need for continued education in sustainable agricultural techniques. The result is a high level of participant understanding of 62.5% and a skill level of 78.2%. The purpose of the activity is to increase farmer awareness of the use of organic fertilizers and promote environmental management in the farming community.
