Abstract

Wabah Corona Virus Disease memberikan tantangan tersendiri bagi lembaga pendidikan, khususnya tenaga kependidikan. Kejadian ini membuat lembaga pendidikan menetapkan inovasi dalam pembelajaran yaitu dengan menciptakan pembelajaran online atau pembelajaran daring. Tetapi belajar dengan daring ini tidak akan terlepas dari kendala dan masalah terhadap pelaksanaannya, contoh hambatan yang akan timbul dalam proses proses belajar online yaitu banyak peserta didik yang kurang disiplin dan aktif dalam pembelajaran, hal ini menimbulkan pemahaman materi pembelajaran oleh speserta didik tidak maksimal dan prestasi belajar yang didapat tidak memuaskan. tujuan kajian ini ialah guna memperoleh strategi pembelajaran yang di terapkan dan keterkaitan strategi dengan prestasi belajar siswa. Kajian ini tergolong menerapkan model penelitian korelasional dengan jumlah sampel sebanyak 35 siswa. Hasil dari kajian ini diperoleh bahwa nilai sig < 0,05 yang artinya kedua data variabel berhubungan yang positif. Dan data koefisien korelasi mendapat nilai = 0,025, dan nilai koefisien korelasi (r) pada sistem pembelajaran terhadap hasil belajar sebesar 0,429 dengan tingkat korelasi yang Lemah. Dari hasil kajian ini diperoleh kesimpulan bahwa bahwa strategi sistem pembelajaran daring terhadap hasil belajar PDTM di SMK N 1 Padang memiliki korelasi yang signitifikan atau meyakinkan dengan nilai kefisien sebesar 0.429 (42,9%) yang menyatakan bahwa korelasi antar kedua data variabel terbilang lemah.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the contribution of career guidance, industrial work experience (internship), and emotional intelligence to the work readiness of students at SMK N 1 Sutera. The background of this research is the high unemployment rate among vocational school graduates and the gap between their competencies and the needs of the industrial sector.Using a quantitative approach and survey method, the study involved 68 students who had participated in the internship program. Data were collected through questionnaires that had been tested for validity and reliability. The data were then analyzed using multiple linear regression.The results showed that career guidance significantly contributed to students’ work readiness with a correlation coefficient of r = 0.535 (R² = 28.6%, p = 0.000). This indicates that better career guidance helps improve students’ preparedness for the workforce. Internship experience also had a positive impact, with r = 0.351 (R² = 12.3%, p = 0.015), suggesting that hands-on industry experience increases students' readiness for real work environments. Emotional intelligence had the most dominant influence with r = 0.606 (R² = 36.8%, p = 0.000), showing that the ability to manage emotions and adapt socially plays a key role in preparing students for the workplace.Simultaneously, these three variables contributed 57.8% to students’ work readiness (R² = 0.578, F = 29.193, p = 0.000), meaning the research model is statistically significant. Therefore, schools and industries should enhance career guidance quality, improve the relevance of internship programs, and offer training to strengthen students' emotional intelligence, to better prepare them for the labor market and increase their competitiveness

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengukur tingkat kepuasan mahasiswa terhadap sistem ujian daring berbasis web di Universitas Negeri Padang menggunakan kerangka PIECES. Instrumen pengukuran berupa kuesioner online diisi oleh 100 responden pada salah satu kelas mata kuliah umum di Universitas Negeri Padang. Penelitian menganalisis enam aspek kepuasan yaitu kinerja, informasi, biaya, pengamanan, efisiensi, dan layanan. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa aspek kinerja memperoleh nilai rata-rata 3,99 dengan predikat "Puas". Aspek informasi mendapatkan skor 4,06 dengan predikat "Puas". Aspek biaya memperoleh nilai 4,20 dengan predikat "Puas". Sedangkan aspek pengamanan memperoleh skor rata-rata 4,03 dengan predikat "Puas". Untuk aspek efisiensi didapatkan nilai rata-rata 4,12 dengan predikat "Puas". Terakhir, aspek layanan memperoleh skor rata-rata 4,09 dengan predikat "Puas". Secara keseluruhan dapat disimpulkan bahwa sistem ujian daring tersebut mampu memberikan tingkat kepuasan yang "Puas" pada semua aspek evaluasi menurut kerangka PIECES. Hasil ini diharapkan dapat memberikan masukan kepada perguruan tinggi untuk terus meningkatkan kualitas sistem ujiannya guna memenuhi kebutuhan mahasiswa.

Abstract

The quality of school education is driven by several factors. These factors encompass school-related elements, pedagogical approaches, learning processes, environmental influences, learning facilities, and the allocation of learning time. It is evident that facilities and infrastructure represent a significant factor in the achievement of students. At SMK Negeri 1 West Sumatra, the Shielded Metal Arc Welding technique subject is used as the criterion for the completion of class 11 students. However, observations indicated that student academic outcomes were not ma11mized. This study explores the correlation between the availability of workshop infrastructure and the academic performance of Class 11 students enrolled in the SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding) technique at SMK Negeri 1 West Sumatra. The investigation employs a correlational method to analyse the data. This study's population comprises 25 students enrolled in the 11th grade Welding Engineering programme, who utilise the Total Sampling Technique. The findings of the product moment correlation analysis demonstrate that the calculated r value of 0.595 exceeds the r table value of 0.396. It is evident that, with a statistical significance at p = 0.001, lower than 0.05, the alternative hypothesis (Ha) is confirmed. Considering the study’s findings, the alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted, signifying a robust correlation between workshop facilities and learning achievement. The findings of the analysis yielded a coefficient of determination of 35.4%, indicating that the impact of workshop facilities on student learning achievement is 35.4%. Conversely, a residual of 64.6% is attributed to external factors that were not considered in the study.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh perlunya media pembelajaran yang lebih menarik dan efektif dalam meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa, khususnya pada mata pelajaran Mesin Konvensional. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan media video tutorial terhadap hasil belajar peserta didik pada materi bagian-bagian mesin bubut. Metode yang digunakan adalah pendekatan kuantitatif dengan desain eksperimen Posttest-Only Control Group Design. Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas XI Teknik Mekanik Industri SMK Negeri 1 Pariaman tahun ajaran 2023/2024 yang berjumlah 61 orang, dengan sampel sebanyak 40 siswa yang dipilih melalui teknik simple random sampling, dan dibagi menjadi dua kelompok, yaitu kelompok eksperimen dan kelompok kontrol. Instrumen penelitian berupa tes objektif sebanyak 20 soal. Data dikumpulkan melalui tes dan dokumentasi, kemudian dianalisis menggunakan uji normalitas, homogenitas, dan uji-t untuk melihat perbedaan hasil belajar antara kedua kelompok. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa thitung > ttabel, yang berarti terdapat perbedaan signifikan antara hasil belajar siswa yang menggunakan media video dan yang tidak. Kesimpulannya, penggunaan media video pembelajaran berpengaruh positif terhadap peningkatan hasil belajar siswa. Namun demikian, terdapat kendala dalam mengontrol siswa selama diskusi saat video diputar, sehingga perlu strategi pengelolaan kelas yang lebih efektif dalam implementasi media ini.

Abstract

Palm kernel shells have great potential as biomass and renewable energy sources. Its utilization has not been maximized which is only directly burned which causes air pollution. The accumulation of solid waste in the crude palm oil processing industry negatively impacts the environment. The research aims to determine the characteristics and quality of charcoal briquettes with palm kernel shell carbonization. The main findings of this study are the calorific value, water content, volatile matter, ash content, and fixed carbon in palm kernel shell charcoal briquettes with damar binder. The experimental research method was carried out by carbonizing the raw materials of palm kernel shell briquettes, applying various concentrations of damar binder mixtures. The technical parameters of briquette making were 10 MPa pressure, 60 mesh size, and different carbonization temperatures by furnace. The calorific and proximate were empirically measured by using a bomb calorimeter. This research produced palm kernel shell charcoal briquettes with a calorific value of 30.72 MJ/kg at a carbonization temperature of 500oC and concentration of 85%:15%, a moisture content of 5.18%, volatile matter of 32.72%, ash content of 2.81%, and fixed carbon of 57.90%. Palm kernel shell charcoal briquetting technology is potentially a recommended alternative solid fuel. Consequently, developing renewable energy that is environmentally friendly leads to achieve sustainable energy security. By utilizing waste, the negative impacts on the environment can be overcome and energy needs are also resolved.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan meningkatkan kekerasan dan ketangguhan material hammer pada mesin crusher dengan proses perlakuan panas (hardening). Fokus penelitian adalah pengaruh variasi suhu, waktu penahanan, dan media pendingin terhadap sifat mekanik baja ZGMn13, khususnya kekerasan Brinell dan energi impak. Baja ZGMn13 dipanaskan pada suhu 1000°C dan 1100°C, dengan waktu penahanan 60, 80, 100, dan 120 menit. Media pendingin yang digunakan adalah air biasa dan air garam. Pengujian sifat mekanik mencakup kekerasan Brinell dan uji impak Charpy, dengan analisis menggunakan metode Taguchi untuk mengetahui pengaruh signifikan dari masing-masing variabel perlakuan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa peningkatan suhu dan waktu penahanan meningkatkan kekerasan material hingga titik tertentu. Media pendingin air garam menghasilkan kekerasan lebih tinggi dibandingkan air biasa, namun energi impak menurun pada suhu tinggi dan pendinginan cepat akibat peningkatan kekerasan dan penurunan ketangguhan. Perlakuan optimal ditemukan pada suhu 1100°C, waktu penahanan 120 menit dengan air garam untuk kekerasan tertinggi, dan pada suhu 1000°C, waktu 60 menit dengan air biasa untuk energi impak tertinggi. Temuan ini memberikan rekomendasi untuk meningkatkan performa dan umur pakai komponen hammer pada mesin crusher industri.

Abstract

The implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum in vocational schools requires systematic evaluation to ensure its effectiveness and relevance to industry needs. This study aimed to evaluate the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum in the Welding Engineering Department of SMK Negeri 1 Bengkalis using the CIPP (Context, Input, Process, Product) evaluation model. A quantitative descriptive method was employed, involving teachers, students, and stakeholders as respondents. The context evaluation showed that curriculum goals were highly relevant and aligned with welding industry demands (85%, Very Good). Input evaluation indicated adequate teacher competence and learning materials, but limited infrastructure support (68%, Fair). The process evaluation revealed effective application of project-based learning, with high student engagement and active participation. Product evaluation showed that students achieved strong learning outcomes and welding competencies, and expressed general satisfaction with the curriculum. Overall, the results suggest that the Merdeka Curriculum is suitable for vocational education and supports student-centered learning. However, improvements in infrastructure and supervision are needed to strengthen the implementation. This study highlights the importance of ongoing curriculum evaluation to ensure alignment with industry expectations and the successful development of student competencies

Abstract

Deformation in welded joints can reduce the precision, strength, and service life of a structure, especially in structural carbon steel commonly used in the construction industry. One of the main factors influencing deformation is the type and angle of the weld groove. This study aims to analyze the effect of groove type and angle variations on deformation in butt joint welding of structural carbon steel. The method used is a numerical simulation based on the Finite Element Method (FEM) using ANSYS software, consisting of transient thermal and transient structural analyses. The groove variations include V-grooves with angles of 45°, 60°, and 75°, as well as U-grooves with angles of 50°, 60°, and 70°. The simulation results show that the V-groove with a 45° angle produces the maximum deformation of 2.1317 mm, while the U-groove with a 70° angle results in the minimum deformation of 0.23808 mm. These findings indicate that U-grooves generally produce lower deformation compared to V-grooves. Therefore, selecting the appropriate groove design can enhance the quality of weld joints and the overall structural performance.

Abstract

This descriptive study aims to analyze the effect of shaft diameter on the natural frequency and maximum deformation of a rotating shaft system. The analysis was conducted through numerical simulation using ANSYS Workbench software. The shaft and two symmetrically positioned disks were modeled, and a modal analysis was performed using the Finite Element Method (FEM) to determine the system’s first ten vibration modes. Simulation results showed that the natural frequencies ranged from 80.495 Hz to 280.4 Hz, with a maximum deformation of 58.903 mm occurring in the 9th mode. The lower modes (modes 1–6) exhibited lower frequencies but higher deformation, while higher modes (modes 7–10) showed more complex vibration patterns with consistently significant deformation values. This indicates that higher frequency does not necessarily result in lower deformation, and the system may still experience critical vibration. These findings demonstrate that the shaft's geometric configuration, including diameter and mass distribution of the disks, significantly affects its dynamic behavior. The simulation provides deeper insight into the vibration characteristics of the critical speed shaft apparatus used in practical experiments and serves as a reference for validating theoretical approaches such as the Dunkerley and Rayleigh methods.
