Abstract

Water is a natural resource that has a crucial role for the lives of all creatures, including humans. In modern life, the use of water reservoirs is a common solution to store water to meet the needs of households, industries, and public facilities. One of the main challenges in managing water reservoirs is ensuring that the availability of water in reservoirs remains optimal. In traditional systems, water level monitoring is usually done manually using visual methods or simple buoys. However, this method has several drawbacks, such as the risk of human error, for example errors in reading water levels or negligence in conducting routine monitoring. Although automatic buoys are now available, this tool still has some drawbacks, such as limitations in obtaining real-time data and access to information that can only be done at the reservoir location, so monitoring still requires more time and effort. This research aims to ensure that the availability of water in the reservoir remains optimal and increase efficiency in monitoring the reservoir. With this system, users can obtain real-time data on the water level in the reservoir, either through electronic devices directly or through integration with Internet of Things (IoT) technology. The system has been connected to the Telegram-based IoT platform, thus enabling practical remote monitoring and control through the Telegram app on the user's device. This makes it easier for users to monitor without having to be at the reservoir location. The system is also equipped with an automation feature, which allows automatic control of the water pump based on the water level detected by the sensor. When the water in the reservoir is below the minimum limit, the system will automatically activate the pump to fill the water. On the other hand, if the water reaches the maximum limit, the pump will be turned off automatically to prevent overflow and avoid waste. In addition, the system also supports manual control through the Telegram platform, where users can turn the pump on or off remotely by simply sending a command through the Telegram app. The test results show that this system works accurately and efficiently in monitoring and controlling water, either automatically based on the water level detected by the sensor, or manually through commands sent through the Telegram application. With the application of IoT technology, this system is expected to improve the efficiency of water reservoir management, reduce human error, and support sustainability initiatives in the use of water resources.

Abstract

The Clean Water Distribution Pump plays a crucial role in delivering clean water to consumers. Over time, increased noise levels indicate potential damage to pump components, which, if left unaddressed, can lead to severe failures and costly repairs. One of the analyzes of pump damage is vibration analysis. With vibration analysis, damage to the pump in the form of misalignment, mechanical looseness, bent shaft, bearing damage, worn gears, cavitation can be identified. The purpose of this research is to determine the characteristics of vibrations that occur in the pump, so that we can detect damage and failures that occurs and suggest maintenance action. Vibration analysis is carried out using a vibration analyzer to determine the vibration spectrum that occurs in the axial, radial and tangential directions, then analyzing the type of damage and appropriate maintenance to be carried out.  The results showed that this pump indicated: extreme motor free end bearing looseness with a severity score of 99/100, serious motor free end bearing wear with a severity score of 72/100, serious motor drive end bearing looseness with a severity score of 53/100, and moderate motor drive end bearing wear with a severity score of 37/100. and based on the ISO 10816-3 standard, it is recommended that the motor free end bearing be replaced because vibration will cause damage and for the drive end bearing motor it is only recommended to operate for a short time.

Abstract

These blind people still have difficulties in carrying out their activities, especially in terms of mobility in society. This is of course due to the lack of facilities and infrastructure that can support blind people in carrying out their daily activities. One of the assistive devices commonly used is a blind cane. With this stick, blind people are quite helped, especially when walking, but the conventional cane has limitations, one of which is the reach is too short. Thus, in this study, a concept for walking aids for blind people was developed by designing a new device that can cover the limitations of conventional canes. The tool is designed to utilize microcontroller technology with a minimum Arduino uno system, ultrasonic sensor HC-SR04, and DFPlayer Mp3 Mini module. The results showed that the designed tool can detect a maximum distance of 80 cm and can make a sound when the ultrasonic sensor is blocked.

Abstract

In general, sorting waste is still done manually by human hands. For example, it is still done manually by human hands to sort metal and non-metal waste from a pile of garbage. This results in less efficiency in terms of time and energy and also greatly impacts the health of oneself and others. With these conditions, one solution is to build a metal and non-metallic waste sorting system in the trash. The metal and non-metal waste sorting system that is made can sort metal and non-metal waste automatically because it is equipped with an inductive proximity sensor system which functions to detect metal waste plus a NodeMCU module which functions as a data sender of information on the weight capacity of the waste. With this automatic waste sorting system, waste can be sorted according to predetermined types of waste such as metal waste and non-metal waste.

Abstract

The Internet of Things is a development of today's internet-based technology which has a concept to expand the benefits of objects connected to an internet connection continuously. For example, electronic objects, one of which is Arduino. This technology can provide information automatically and in real time. One use of this technological development in the fisheries sector is a pond water monitoring system. In practice, catfish farmers still monitor conventionally, namely by visiting fish ponds. This affects the time efficiency and effectiveness of fish cultivation work. In this research, a tool was developed to help monitor and control the water quality of catfish ponds based on the Internet of Things. The device needed is a temperature sensor. Data from these sensors is recorded by Arduino and then processed into information according to user needs via the internet automatically. Furthermore, this data can be displayed on various platforms, including the mobile web model. The test results show that the development of Internet of Things technology in this system can help farmers monitor water quality automatically. The developed automation system promises to increase success in catfish cultivation.
