Abstract

The counseling relationship is a key element in an effective counseling process. This relationship is characterized by trust, empathy, and open communication between the counselor and the client. However, in practice, there are various barriers that can interfere with the realization of an optimal counseling relationship. This study aims to identify the main barriers in building a counseling relationship and explore strategies to overcome them. The identified barriers include internal client factors, such as distrust, fear of stigma, and difficulty in expressing emotions; and external factors, such as lack of counselor competence, cultural differences, and an unsupportive counseling environment. In addition, interpersonal dynamics such as perceptual bias and value conflicts can also affect the quality of the counseling relationship. The results of the study indicate that an empathy-based approach, effective communication, and cultural awareness can help reduce these barriers. This abstract provides insights for counselors to improve the effectiveness of counseling practice by strengthening inclusive and supportive counseling relationships

Abstract

Introduction: Adolescent pregnancy presents a significant challenge to global reproductive health, including in Indonesia. The unique obstacles that young pregnant women encounter when seeking appropriate and supportive healthcare services call for a deeper understanding to improve maternal care. Purpose: This study aims to explore the expectations of young pregnant women regarding continuous midwifery care in Indonesia. Method: This research employed an exploratory qualitative approach, conducting 13 face-to-face interviews between January and June 2022. Participants included midwives, young mothers, a coordinating midwife, and Mother and Child Health (MCH) program holders. Interviews, lasting 1-1.5 hours, were conducted, and the interview data were rigorously analyzed thematically by the research team, strengthening data reliability through triangulation. Results: Continuity management emphasizes friendly service, privacy, clear communication, and comprehensive health assessments. Informational continuity involves comprehensive information, direct communication, attractive aids, and health education evaluation. Relational continuity highlights comprehensive maternal care, family tradition approval, reminders, and efficient care. The study underscores the importance of tailored, holistic, and culturally sensitive midwifery care for young pregnant women's overall well-being. Conclusion:   This study highlights adolescent pregnant women's unique needs, focusing on continuity management, informational continuity, and relational continuity. Proposed strategies include tailored health services, comprehensive maternal education, cultural sensitivity training for healthcare providers, policy integration, and diverse research. Successfully implementing these measures can significantly enhance maternal care outcomes for Indonesian adolescents.

Abstract

This study aims to develop a Positive Classroom Management (PCM) program as an integrative solution for managing digital-era classrooms, specifically focusing on grade XII students. The research addresses the challenges of maintaining student engagement, managing technology use, and supporting student well-being in contemporary educational settings. The study employs a qualitative approach through systematic literature review, analyzing 150 selected articles from 500 initial sources published between 2019-2024. Data collection utilized major academic databases including ERIC, Science Direct, JSTOR, and Google Scholar, with analysis conducted using NVivo 14 software for theme identification and meta-synthesis. Results reveal five key components of effective digital classroom management: digital behavior management systems, integrated communication platforms, student progress monitoring systems, virtual collaboration tools, and learning analytics dashboards. The study found that optimal implementation requires a 60:40 ratio of digital to direct interaction activities. The PCM program successfully increased student collaboration by 55% and parental involvement by 65%. Implementation challenges included infrastructure limitations, digital literacy gaps, and online engagement monitoring. The research demonstrates that integrating technology with traditional pedagogical approaches, while maintaining focus on student well-being, creates a more effective and supportive learning environment for grade XII students in the digital era.

Abstract

The educational process needs to be guided by clear rules and regulations so that the learning atmosphere remains orderly and educational goals can be achieved optimally. Discipline enables students to direct and control their behavior in accordance with school expectations. This study employed a quantitative approach with a descriptive correlational design. The sample consisted of 250 students in Grades VII, VIII, and IX at SMP Pembangunan Laboratorium UNP, selected using proportional random sampling. Research instruments included self-management, achievement motivation, and student discipline scales based on a Likert response format. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and multiple regression analysis. The results indicated a significant relationship between self-management and achievement motivation and student discipline, with both predictors jointly accounting for 25.4% of the variance in discipline. These findings can be used as input for designing guidance and counseling service programs at SMP Pembangunan Laboratorium UNP.
