Abstract

Groundwater if the quality is not good if consumed will have an impact on health. The causes of poor groundwater quality include the value of Fe and Mn levels that exceed the established quality standards. Many methods can be done to overcome the quality of groundwater caused by high Fe and Mn levels, one of which is to use a ceramic membrane made from clay and kaolin with a variation of the coconut shell activated charcoal mixture in the composition of the ceramic membrane by 5%. 10% and 15%. The goal is to determine the effect of ceramic membranes with continuous flow systems on reducing content in clean water.  Results showed that the percentage of decrease in Fe and Mn content produced by variations in the composition of coconut shell activated charcoal of 0%, 5%, 10%, and 15% was, respectively for average Fe levels of 15.85%, 69.44%, 75.02%, and 80.83%, and for average Mn levels of 0.00%, 5.71%, 10.00%, and 18.67%. The best variation in the composition of coconut shell-activated charcoal in clay and kaolin-based ceramic membranes in reducing Fe and Mn content in clean water to meet the quality standards of coconut shell-activated charcoal composition by 15%. It is expected that this activity can be used as a basis for further development in groundwater treatment using ceramic membranes made from clay and kaolin with the addition of coconut shell-activated charcoal composition.

Abstract

The mismatch between graduate skills and labor market needs remains a challenge in education and training due to limited industry involvement in curriculum design. LPP Ariyanti’s Fashion Design Training Program stands out by producing work-ready graduates capable of entrepreneurship in fashion design. This study evaluates the program's learning system to understand its effectiveness. A qualitative descriptive approach was used, involving observation (checklist), interviews (guide), and document analysis (sheet). A purposive sampling method selected three informants: a marketing communication representative, a fashion instructor, and a training participant. Data analysis followed four steps: collection, reduction, presentation, and conclusion drawing. The program succeeded across all evaluated aspects. Raw inputs revealed participants with diverse educational backgrounds and ages, yet uniformly productive. Instrumental inputs included skilled instructors, a standards-aligned curriculum, and sufficient infrastructure. Environmental inputs involved engagement in events and institutional partnerships with government and industry. The process incorporated blended, participatory, and project-based learning, complemented by effective formative and summative evaluations. Outputs demonstrated improvements in participants’ cognitive, affective, and psychomotor abilities. Outcomes highlighted increased graduate incomes, though few participants have yet started their own businesses. The comprehensive design of LPP Ariyanti’s training program, integrating industry partnerships, effective teaching methods, and robust infrastructure, contributes to its success. However, further support is needed to encourage entrepreneurship among graduates. The Fashion Design Training Program at LPP Ariyanti effectively equips participants with skills for employment and entrepreneurship, offering a model for industry-aligned education.

Abstract

This study examined marriage preparation among university students in Indonesia through Family Life Education (FLE). FLE was an educational program that aimed to develop knowledge, skills, and attitudes to foster harmonious family relationships and prevent family problems. The objectives were to assess students' knowledge of family life, identify key materials in FLE, and explore preferred program formats. Research data were collected from 56 University of Education Indonesia and Bandung Islamic University students using an online questionnaire via non-probability sampling, specifically voluntary sampling techniques. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and one-way ANOVA to explore differences in knowledge, material importance levels, and implementation preferences based on gender and age group. The study revealed that students were exceptionally knowledgeable about family law, roles, responsibilities, parental responsibilities, family dynamics, and money management, deeming these subjects essential for marriage preparation. Students preferred flexible FLE implementation (in-person, online, or blended), a minimum duration of 24 hours, qualified speakers, and certification. No significant differences were found based on gender or age. Integrating the FLE program into the university curriculum was considered crucial for students to acquire comprehensive knowledge, skills, and attitudes for responsible married life and family responsibilities.

Abstract

Although assessment literacy is increasingly recognized as a critical component of effective teaching, empirical research addressing this competency in non-formal education contexts remains limited. This study addresses this gap by examining the level and distribution of assessment literacy among non-formal education (NFE) tutors in Indonesia and by exploring the structural validity of an assessment literacy framework adapted to non-formal learning environments. Using survey data collected from 322 NFE tutors, the study investigates variations in assessment literacy across demographic and professional characteristics and analyzes the contribution of seven conceptual dimensions to overall assessment literacy. The findings indicate that tutors’ assessment literacy levels are generally modest. No significant differences are observed in relation to gender, length of teaching experience, or type of educational work experience, whereas age and educational attainment are associated with statistically significant variation. All seven dimensions demonstrate meaningful relationships with assessment literacy, with contextual responsiveness and reflective practice emerging as particularly influential, while several indicators require further refinement. By providing empirical evidence on assessment literacy in non-formal education settings, this study contributes to the refinement of existing conceptual frameworks and underscores the importance of context-sensitive professional development and institutional support in enhancing assessment practices and learning quality in non-formal education.
