Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of informal learning motivation in the workplace in enhancing teachers' digital competence in the era of the Industrial Revolution 4.0. This informal learning motivation was designed using the ADDIE model, which includes analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The research sample consisted of 30 teachers, including 5 vice principals. The analysis results show that before the implementation of informal learning motivation, around 40% of teachers lacked confidence in using digital technology, and 60% experienced difficulties in using online learning applications. Encouraging informal learning proved to significantly improve teachers’ digital competence, with the average test score increasing from 50% before the intervention to 80% afterward. In addition, 90% of participants felt more confident using digital learning applications, and 85% found this approach highly relevant to their needs. Despite the positive outcomes, challenges included limited time for mastering the material and the need for continued assistance. Therefore, it is recommended to provide ongoing informal support through intensive mentoring, along with periodic evaluations of technology implementation in learning. Teachers were motivated through the use of social media platforms such as YouTube, Pilot AI, and others. This study recommends that schools formulate internal policies that comprehensively support the integration of technology through informal learning approaches to enhance teachers' professionalism in the future.

Abstract

This research aims to map the trends in international scientific publications related to solfeggio-based music education during the period 2016–2025 and to identify its implications for learning in non-music vocational high schools. The method used is a bibliometric study by analyzing data from the Scopus database using the keywords solfege, ear training, sight singing, sight reading, and music pedagogy. The data were analyzed using the VOSviewer tool to map trends, keyword clusters, and research focus. The results show that publications during the period 2021–2025 experienced a significant increase and formed three main clusters, namely music pedagogy and learning design, aural skills, and formal educational contexts such as conservatories. However, there is no focus on non-music vocational education contexts, indicating a research gap. These findings emphasize the need for the development of an inclusive, adaptive, and contextual solfeggio learning model, particularly for vocational high school students who do not have a formal music education background. This study provides an initial contribution in bridging the gap between formal music education studies and the need for musical learning in non-music vocational environments, as well as opening opportunities for the development of applied research in the future.

Abstract

This study explores the integration of Problem-Based Learning (PBL) in mathematics education by mapping research trends on mathematical critical thinking through a bibliometric analysis of 791 Scopus-indexed publications from 2021 to April 2025. Employing a five-stage bibliometric protocol and VOSviewer software, the analysis visualizes keyword co-occurrence, research clusters, and networks among authors, institutions, and countries. The findings reveal a consistent increase in research interest, with a publication peak in 2024, reflecting the growing recognition of PBL as an effective approach to cultivating higher-order thinking skills. Indonesia emerged as the most productive country, with significant contributions from scholars such as Zubaidah S. and institutions like Universitas Negeri Malang and Universitas Negeri Surabaya. Dominant keywords include “problem-based learning” and “critical thinking”, which are strongly associated with other active learning strategies such as project-based learning, flipped classrooms, and collaborative learning. Importantly, the most influential articles predominantly originate from medical and nursing education, underscoring the interdisciplinary potential of PBL. This finding offers valuable insight for mathematics education researchers to adapt evidence-based approaches from other disciplines to strengthen theoretical and practical frameworks in their field. The study underscores the relevance of PBL in addressing 21st-century educational challenges and identifies potential research gaps in areas such as early mathematics education and qualitative approaches. The study not only highlights global engagement with PBL as a 21st-century learning model but also provides a roadmap for future investigations into unexplored areas such as early-grade mathematics education, qualitative methods, and digital PBL supported by artificial intelligence. By bridging pedagogical insights across disciplines, this research encourages more integrative, innovative, and impactful practices in advancing critical thinking through mathematics.  Keywords: problem-based learning, critical thinking, bibliometric analysis, mathematics education, VOSviewer.

Abstract

Background: Adolescents, defined by the United Nations as individuals aged 10 to 19 years, are a significant population group, numbering 1.3 billion worldwide. Adolescence is a complex period of transition, characterized by rapid physical, cognitive, and psychosocial growth. These developments affect the way adolescents feel, think, make decisions, and interact with many things. This transition is often described as a period of “storm and stress,” which emphasizes the important role of parents in supporting adolescent’s development. Objective: Exploring adolescents' perception of the parental treatment that adolescents receive. Methods: This study used a survey, involving 120 adolescent respondents in Bandung City, consisting of 40 males and 76 females. Data were collected through questionnaires and analyzed descriptively. Result: The study showed that most of the respondents were 14 years old and lived with their families. Although most adolescents feel closer to their mothers, adolescent girls tend to confide in friends more often than their mothers when facing problems.  The findings also show that parents still tend to compare their children with other children, even with neighboring children. Adolescents expect parents not to compare them with siblings and always support their activities. Conclusion: Adolescents as individuals who grow and develop have needs that must be met by parents. They, by following their developmental patterns, want to be treated as people who have authority, want to be heard, want to be cared for, and want to make parents a place to share Research Contribution: This study provides insight into adolescents' perceptions of parental treatment, which can be the basis for the development of more effective programs and interventions in supporting adolescents’s development

Abstract

Cultural heritage village conservation has generally been considered a means for cultural identity sustainability and promoting sustainable development in highly valued historical areas. Thus, this paper assesses how critical reflection, and empowerment evaluation can support the sustainable development of the Seribu Rumah Gadang, a West Sumatra, Indonesia, and cultural heritage village. Using a mixed-method strategy, the study looks at how community engagement works for heritage conservation through in-depth interviews, focus group discussions, empowerment evaluation workshops, and reflective critical sessions. Results show an apparent conflict between cultural preservation and economic growth, with community-based initiatives able to resolve this interesting conflict more successfully. The research highlights the role of empowerment evaluation in increasing the relevance and sustainability of projects and points out the critical role of continuous reflection in adjusting the strategy in response to changing community needs and requirements. The study discusses implications for empowerment evaluation by suggesting ways to strengthen community engagement, improve access to resources, and promote more inclusive tourism practices that do not contradict cultural values. Therefore, this research contributes to continuing the debate on environmental sustainability in cultural heritage sites and bringing new insights to policy-makers, practitioners, and researchers.
