Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat (PKM) dengan judul “Present Perfect Tense Use for Checking Steps to Operate Microsoft Word by Students In Saengtham Wittaya Foundation School, Trang, Thailand” merupakan bukti nyata tridharma dosen di Universitas Budi Darma Medan untuk bersinergi dengan seluruh komponen pendidikan. Tujuan dari pelatihan ini adalah agar para guru sekolah dasar bisa mengintegrasikan pengajaran Bahasa Inggris dan penguasaan teknologi secara sejalan. Selama ini metode pengajaran berbicara (speaking) diajarkan hanya pada mata pelajaran Bahasa Inggris saja. Lewat integrasi pengajaran Bahasa Inggris dan tekhnologi, diharapkan bisa mengasah kemampuan berbicara dalam Bahasa Inggris sekaligus penguasaan teknologi. Guru melatih siswa untuk memanfaatkan praktik penggunaan tenses present perfect tense yang selama ini hanya diajarkan secara teori untuk mengenal formulanya dan bentuknya, namun dalam pelatihan ini siswa secara langsung bisa memahami pengguanaan tenses present perfect tense dalam aspek kegiatan sehari-hari berkomunikasi bersama teman sebaya terutama dalam kegiatan untuk mengecek langkah-langkah penggunaan teknologi dalam menggunakan software miscrosoft word. Pemanfaatan grammatical function memegang peranan penting dalam pelatihan ini, sehingga siswa terbiasa berkomunikasi dengan menggunakan tenses yang sesuai sekaligus mampu menguasai istilah-istilah sederhana dalam kegiatan penggunaan software microsoft word dan Langkah-langkahnya.

Abstract

The textile industry is one sector that generates effluent containing a significant quantity of pollutants, including dyes, and thus has an effect on the environment. Synthetic dyes, which are toxic and difficult to degrade, are utilized extensively in the textile industry. Therefore, a new study utilizes banana stems as a cost-effective biosorbent to remove indigo carmine dye. This research aims to investigate the use of banana stem waste as a bisorobent in batch method to adsorption indigo carmine dye. The optimal concentration and pH values are 2 and 900 mg/L, respectively. The interaction between the indigo carmine dye and the banana stems is suggested by the FTIR analysis.  The solution's indigo carmine dye may be adsorbed by banana stem.

Abstract

This study aims to apply the interpolative coding and rice code algorithms for compressing MP3 audio files and to compare the effectiveness of these two algorithms in the compression process. Additionally, the study focuses on measuring the compression ratios of each algorithm to evaluate the efficiency of each method in reducing MP3 file sizes. As the use of applications for information management becomes increasingly common, a frequent issue arises: the need for significant storage space. Therefore, compression is required to reduce the size of these files. File compression is the process of transforming a set of data into a coded format to minimize storage requirements. There are several data compression algorithms, including Interpolative Coding and Rice Code. The multitude of compression algorithms creates uncertainty about which algorithms are most accurate for data compression. Thus, a comparison between algorithms, such as Interpolative Coding and Rice Code, is necessary. This comparison will help determine which algorithm is more accurate for compressing MP3 audio files, using parameters such as compression ratio and space saving of the Interpolative Coding and Rice Code algorithms.

Abstract

Currently, numerous MP4 video files are widely distributed and often have relatively large sizes. To address storage issues, compression is needed to reduce file sizes. The aim of this research is to implement the Stout Codes algorithm for compressing MP4 video files, analyze the compression level achieved by this algorithm, and evaluate its performance in terms of compression ratio and video quality after compression. This study seeks to explore the effectiveness of Stout Codes in reducing MP4 file sizes while maintaining optimal video quality, providing insights into how this algorithm can be applied in video management and storage. Data compression is the process of transforming data into a more efficient code to save storage space. Various algorithms are used in the compression process, one of which is the Stout Codes algorithm, which is relatively uncommon. Stout Codes work by encoding video blocks into smaller binary forms without losing original information. Applying this algorithm to MP4 video files results in a Compression Ratio of 5.62%, meaning the file size before compression, which is 128 bits, can be reduced to 72 bits after compression. Thus, the Stout Codes algorithm offers an effective solution for reducing video file sizes while preserving data integrity, despite its less frequent use compared to other compression algorithms.

Abstract

The implementation of the backpropagation algorithm in customer loan eligibility using Artificial Neural Networks (ANN) with the backpropagation method represents an effective approach for evaluating and predicting loan eligibility. This algorithm allows the use of historical data to train a model capable of identifying complex patterns in customer data, including payment behavior, credit history, and other relevant factors. By leveraging this technique, financial institutions can enhance accuracy in assessing credit risk, optimize loan decisions, and reduce the risk of non-performing loans. Loan eligibility assessment is a crucial aspect in the banking industry for minimizing credit risk and increasing profitability. This study proposes a loan eligibility assessment method using the Backpropagation algorithm within Artificial Neural Networks (ANN). The method aims to identify customer eligibility based on historical data and related features such as income, credit history, and age. The research findings indicate that the ANN Backpropagation model can provide accurate predictions of customer loan eligibility with lower error rates compared to traditional methods. These findings suggest that applying the ANN Backpropagation algorithm can enhance the effectiveness of the credit assessment process, minimize credit default risk, and potentially optimize loan decisions in the banking industry.

Abstract

Colorectal cancer (CRC) is considered the second deadliest cancer, mainly caused by the mutation of Kirsten Rat Sarcoma (KRAS) type G12D; it’s still undruggable. Flavonoids are secondary metabolites in celery, consisting of apigenin, luteolin, quercetin, and kaempferol. This study aims to analyse the most potential flavonoid compounds in Apium graveolens L. as KRAS inhibitors in CRC with in-silico. This study starts by collecting the 3D structure, Compound ID, formula, and canonical SMILES of compounds from PubChem and the 3D structure of KRAS G12D from the RCSB-PDB. Ligand and protein preparations using OpenBabel PyRx and Biovia Discovery Studio 2019. The SwissADME web server is used to analyse drug-likeness, the PassOnline web server is used to analyse biological activity, docked using PyRx VinaWizard, and visualisation by Biovia Discovery Studio 2019. RMSD and RMSF values were obtained by analysing binding stability with the YASARA application. The molecular docking test showed that chrysoeriol, luteolin, and apigenin have the highest binding affinity and advance to molecular dynamic test. Results of the molecular dynamic showed that chrysoeriol could potentially inhibit the KRAS protein drug in CRC since it also had the lowest toxicity and the strongest binding affinity to the KRAS.

Abstract

DI era digital sepeti saat sekarang ini pelayanan public tentu harus memberikan pelayanan yang prima, tampa berbelit-belit dan tepat sasaran, serta melalukan inovasi dalam bidang administrasi pelayanan public. Salah satu bentuk inovasi yang dihadirkan oleh pemerintah termasuk yang dicanangkan oleh kecamatan koto Tanggah yaitu tentang KTP digital. Yakni penerapan  kartu tanda penduduk (KTP) yang disebut dengan e-digital. Hal ini merupakan sebuah inovasi terbaru yang saat ini digunakan oleh masyarakat Indonesia terutama pada masyarakat kecamatan Koto Tanggah. Tujuan dari penulisan ini adalah bagaimana kita dapat menganalisis penerapan KTP digital di kecamatan koto tangah kota padang, sesuai dnegan inovasi yang sedang digakalkan oleh pemerintah dan dilaksanakan oleh kecamatan koto tanggah. Dalam penelitian ini metode yang digunakan adalah  metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif. Akan tetapi pelaksanaan e-government masih dapat dikatakan belum berjalan secara maksimal, karena kurangnya informasi yang diberikan oleh petugas atau aparat kecamatan mengenai kebijakan baru dari pemerintah terkait pembuatan KTP digital.

Abstract

Purpose of the study: This study aims to identify ethnomathematical concepts in rebana art related to one-dimensional, two-dimensional, and three-dimensional geometry, arithmetic sequences, and integer operations. Furthermore, this study also seeks to test the potential of rebana art as a source of mathematics learning for junior high school students. Methodology: The data obtained were qualitative, while the sources were obtained from observations, interviews, and documentation related to the Rebana Art. The instrument in this study was the researcher herself. The tools used were interview guidelines, observations, and documentation. Data validity techniques were carried out through triangulation through checking method triangulation, source triangulation, and time triangulation, with the data analyzed descriptively qualitatively. Main Findings: The findings show that rebana art contains ethnomathematic concepts related to one-dimensional, two-dimensional, and three-dimensional geometry through measurement activities, including angles, circles, rectangles, cylinders, and cones. The concept of arithmetic sequences is identified in Qasidah rebana, while integer operations appear in Hadrah rebana performances. Furthermore, rebana art can be aligned with the curriculum as a source of mathematics learning for Grades VII, VIII, and IX. Novelty/Originality of this study: This study offers a new contribution by systematically mapping specific mathematical topics across different types of tambourine arts and explicitly aligning them with lower secondary school curriculum levels. This study advances ethnomathematics research by showing how local musical traditions can be transformed into structured mathematical learning resources grounded in formal curriculum standards.

Abstract

Child marriage is a complex social issue that requires serious attention in Aceh, especially in Bener Meriah Regency. This study aims to analyze the factors causing child marriage and its impact on individuals and society. This study uses a mixed method approach. The results confirm that the factors causing child marriage are socio-cultural factors, media exposure, and sexual education. Socio-cultural factors are evident in the high correlation between child marriage and the community environment, such as economics, education, culture, society, and peer influence. Media exposure also contributes to encouraging children's freedom in accessing and using social media without restrictions from parents, and low comprehensive sexuality education due to the “sumang” culture also hinders the delivery of comprehensive sexuality education and knowledge to children and the community. Thus, this study is expected to contribute to efforts to prevent child marriage and raise public awareness about the importance of child protection and the fulfillment of children's rights.

Abstract

Pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini berfokus pada implementasi pelatihan kemampuan dasar Membaca, Menulis, dan Berhitung dengan memanfaatkan media gambar sebagai sarana pembelajaran utama bagi remaja dengan disabilitas intelektual di SLB C Dharma Rena Ring Putra I. Tujuan utama program ini adalah memastikan bahwa penerapan metode pelatihan tersebut mampu memberikan kontribusi optimal terhadap peningkatan kemampuan belajar siswa. Metode yang digunakan adalah Asset-Based Community Development (ABCD), yaitu pendekatan pemberdayaan yang berfokus pada penggalian dan pemanfaatan aset serta potensi yang telah dimiliki siswa. Pelaksanaan kegiatan meliputi observasi awal, pelaksanaan pelatihan secara bertahap, pendampingan intensif, serta evaluasi hasil belajar siswa setelah intervensi dilakukan. Berdasarkan observasi dan evaluasi, hasilnya menunjukkan adanya perbaikan yang nyata dalam kompetensi akademik peserta didik, termasuk konsistensi yang lebih baik dalam pengenalan huruf dan pelafalan suku kata, serta peningkatan efisiensi saat menyelesaikan tugas berhitung. Selain itu, penggunaan media visual yang menarik terbukti efektif dalam menumbuhkan motivasi belajar yang lebih tinggi, meningkatkan keterlibatan aktif siswa di kelas, dan memperpanjang durasi fokus subjek. Dengan demikian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa penggunaan media gambar merupakan intervensi yang dapat memfasilitasi perkembangan literasi dan numerasi pada remaja yang memiliki hambatan intelektual.Kata kunci: Media gambar, Calistung, Remaja Disabilitas Intelektual, Pelatihan
