Abstract

Research study about the research trends in the analysis of elementary level arabic textbooks is very important. This is based on the large number of studies in arabic language journals that examine analytical research on arabic textbooks. The purpose of this study is first to map research studies on the analysis of Arabic language textbooks at the elementary level in Arabic language journals in Indonesia in the period 2018 to 2022 in terms of year of publication, journal category, and first author's institution on articles. The second is to analyze research studies on the analysis of Arabic textbooks at the basic level from the point of view of problem formulation. The type of research in this research is a systematic literature review using the PRISMA type method (preferred reporting items for systematic reviews and meta-analyses). The procedure in this study includes 4 stages, namely identification, screening, eligibility, and include. The results of this study indicate that a research study on the trend of research on elementary level Arabic textbook analysis in the 2018-2022 period can be classified into 2 findings. The first is in terms of the identity of the article which includes three things, namely the year the article was published, the journal category in the article, and the institution/organization of the first author of the article. Second, in terms of the formulation of the problem, which resulted in the scope of research on the tendency of the analysis of Arabic textbooks to focus only on the suitability analysis of Arabic textbook materials, namely conformity with the curriculum, approach, BSNP, and 5C ACTFL.

Abstract

Every year, there is no avoiding the increase in sex-related problems in Indonesia, with children being one of the victims. Therefore, this highlights the significance of early sex education. By applying the concepts of kalam khabar and kalam insya' in verses of Qur’an, this research seeks to ascertain the notion of sex education at an early age. The approach to the research methodology is a library study technique combined with a qualitative way of content analysis. The following are the findings of this study: 1) Surah An-Nur: 30 gives directions for limiting views and upholding the opposite sex's modesty.; 2) Surah An-Nur: 31 gives directions on covering the private parts and dress etiquette.; 3) Surah An-Nur: 58–59 is an order and faidhatul khabar to ask permission to enter the parents' room, especially for children who have reached puberty.; 4) Surah Al-Isra: 32 is a prohibition against committing adultery or approaching it, and as a faidhatul khabar that adultery is a very heinous act and a very bad act in channeling biological needs. These four verses form the concept of the Islamic curriculum for sex and moral education at an early age.

Abstract

Students’ reading skills depend on their teacher and effective teaching methods are crucial, especially for Arabic language teachers. The Ummi method designed for learning to read the Quran is easy and enjoyable. The Ummi method can be applied to teaching reading in Arabic because the language used in the Quran is Arabic. The Ummi method has three mother tongue approaches: the Direct method, Repetition, and Affection. This study employs a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental, non-equivalent control group design. The research population includes students from SMP Laboratorium Percontohan UPI Bandung, with purposive sampling techniques. Class VII-C is the experimental sample, while Class VII-D is the control sample. Data collection involved observation, interviews, pre-tests, and post-tests. The main objective of this research is to demonstrate the effect of the Ummi method through the mother tongue approach, on the skills of reading Arabic texts. The hypothesis test result showed a significance value of 0.009<0.05, which rejects Ho and accepts Ha. The experimental class had a mean gain score of 23.4531, higher than the control class’s 13.9219. It was concluded that the Ummi method through the mother tongue approach, significantly improves Arabic reading skills.

Abstract

The quality of Arabic speaking skills among students tends to be low. This quality hurts their effective communication skills. This problem needs to be addressed because it hinders the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Arabic is essential for establishing effective communication in the global world. This study explores in depth the Arabic language learning process of Hayfa Academy from the perspective of cybernetic theory and its contribution to the achievement of SDG 4. With a qualitative method and case study approach, this study collected data through interviews, distributing questionnaires, and observations. Data that has been obtained is then analyzed using collecting data, direct interpretation, forming patterns, and naturalistic generalization as a conclusion. The results of this study reveal that Hayfa Academy uses cybernetic theory in its learning process, namely giving attention to internal and external conditions of students. Hayfa Academy's Arabic language learning process also has a positive impact on the achievement of SDG 4. Hayfa Academy has implemented the Arabic language learning process by paying attention to the achievement of SDG 4, especially point 4, namely student skills and quality education.

Abstract

The qasidah "Yahabib Ya Habibi" is widely celebrated in Indonesia, especially during Maulid and other religious events featuring sholawat. Its lyrics are renowned for their captivating use of Arabic rhetorical devices, rich in spiritual meaning. Previous research by Saepul Iman (2019) highlighted various forms of tashbih in the qasidah Burdah, emphasizing its linguistic depth. This study focuses on analyzing the Majaz Isti’arah (metaphors) in the lyrics of "Yahabib Ya Habibi" and how these metaphors convey religious messages in daily life.Using a descriptive qualitative method with content analysis, this research identifies verses containing Majaz Isti’arah based on the principles of Ilm al-Bayan (science of eloquence). The analysis involves determining the metaphor, its literal meaning, and its figurative (connotative) interpretation. The findings reveal that isti’arah tashrihiyyah frequently appears, featuring explicit comparisons where the source element (musta’ar minhu) is mentioned, while the target element (musta’ar lah) is implied. These metaphors enhance the emotional and spiritual depth of the lyrics, highlighting the qasidah’s role in conveying profound religious messages. This study underscores the linguistic and spiritual richness of qasidah as a cherished element of Islamic tradition.

Abstract

In teaching Arabic, the professional competence of Arabic teachers (AT) is an aspect that today's teachers must possess. Moreover, teaching Arabic in the 21st century emphasizes the communication skills of educators when using a foreign language. Therefore, this study aims to investigate the professional competence of AT in terms of praxeology perspectives, which include three cycles: the see cycle, the act cycle, and the judge cycle. This study uses a qualitative approach with a case study design. The study was conducted in three secondary schools (Madrasah Aliyah) in the Bandung Raya area, West Java. Participants in this study were nine AT. The study results showed that of the nine AT with a vision and mission of teaching based on multilingualism, only AT 1, AT 5, and AT 8. In the see cycle, three AT envisioned improving students' Arabic communication skills with a cultural approach, technology, and interactive methods. In diagnosing student difficulties, teachers used methods such as questions and answers, discussions, and conversation simulations, with the main challenges faced by students being a lack of vocabulary, sentence structure, and speaking anxiety. Then, in the act cycle, three AT showed variation in the application of learning methods and consistently used a multilingual approach. In addition, teachers explained the differences in Arabic and other foreign language structures and corrected students' mistakes in pronunciation and grammar. In the judge cycle, after an evaluation, three AT improved by adjusting teaching methods, such as increasing conversation exercises, adding project-based assignments, or utilizing learning technology.
