Abstract

The discourse on women's testimony in the Qur'an has sparked diverse interpretations among Indonesian exegetes, reflecting various methodological approaches and socio-cultural backgrounds. One of the key verses on this issue is QS. 2:282, which outlines the procedures for recording financial transactions, including the requirement of witnesses. This study compares the interpretations of Hamka in Tafsir al-Azhar and M. Quraish Shihab in Tafsir al-Mishbah. Hamka adheres to a traditionalist stance, arguing that one male witness is equivalent to two female witnesses due to men’s greater involvement in public affairs. Conversely, Quraish Shihab adopts a contextual approach, asserting that testimony should be based on competence rather than gender. Employing qualitative research with content analysis, this study reveals that socio-historical factors significantly shape exegetical conclusions. Hamka’s interpretation reflects the social structure of his time, whereas Quraish Shihab accommodates modern societal changes. This research highlights the evolving nature of Islamic exegesis and emphasizes the importance of contextual reinterpretation in addressing gender justice. By comparing these two prominent tafsir works, the study contributes to the discourse on women's legal standing in Islamic jurisprudence and its implications for contemporary Muslim societies.

Abstract

Abstract

For the successful implementation of the Honorary Teacher Appointment Policy in Palembang City, the commitment of organizational leaders is required to be optimal in all stages of activities and more intensive coordination with related parties. For this reason, it needs to be supported by a proportional budget for each activity stage. In addition, it must also be supported by adequate personnel and capacity building. This can be done, for example, through training, especially those related to planning and evaluation. The appointment of honorary staff has created problems within government agencies. The policy of Government Regulation (PP) Number 49 of 2018 concerning PPPK Management is expected to resolve these problems. This research uses qualitative research methods with descriptive analysis; data is collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The research location is Palembang City. From the results of the study, it was found that the Implementation of Policy on the Appointment of Teachers to become government employees with work agreements (PPPK) in Palembang City has not been implemented properly; this can be seen from the reality in the field that there are still many honorary teachers who have not yet been appointed as civil servants or become government employees with work agreements (PPPK), this is because the variables of policy standards and objectives, resources, organizational characteristics, and the implementation of PPPK are not well implemented.

Abstract

In Islamic shari'ah there are two forms of marriage, namely polygamy and monogamy, of which polygamy is the marriage of a man to several women, commonly called "one husband multy wife", and monogamy is an ideal marriage that all women and men want man. Talking about the problem of polygamy, the thing that gets the most attention and debate is the issue of justice in polygamy, Hamka and Teungku M. Hasbi Ash-Shiddiqy are two figures who have different ideas about fairness in polygamy, even though they depart from the same passage namely the Qur'an . In this study, researchers used qualitative research with the type of research used was library research. The data collection method is based on primary and secondary data, and the data analysis is deductive and inductive, while the data processing uses the comparative method. The method the writer uses to describe and analyze the thinking of Hamka and Teungku M. Hasbi Ash-Shiddiqy which includes the concept of fairness in polygamy. From the research conducted, it can be concluded first, that the concept of fairness in polygamy according to Hamka for someone who wants to practice polygamy must be in a state of healthy mind arising from faith and piety. If you are polygamous, a man must be fair, both physically and mentally, but in matters of feelings and affection someone will not be able to be fair. Whereas Teungku M. Hasbi Ash-Shiddiqy bapatapat, polygamy is permissible when in an emergency, that is, if you believe you will do justice, even if someone cannot do justice in feelings and affections that are inner, then that is forgiven. Second, there are factors in equality and differences in the interpretations of the two figures. Among the equations is in the field of methods of interpretation, presentation of interpretations, forms of interpretation and legal basis in polygamy. While the differences between the two figures differ in terms of usage in terms of interpretation, breadth of explanation, background of interpretation and interpretation in QS. Al-Nisa '[4]: 129.

Abstract

The implementation of democracy in Indonesia has undergone various developments in line with the development of science and technological advances that affect various activities of state life. One form of democracy is manifested in the freedom to choose the head of government. Indonesia has realized various democratic activities through the general elections of heads of state, regional heads, legislative members to the latest village head elections. Moreover, decentralization gives regions to manage policies that are ideally applied in their respective regions according to the capabilities and technology possessed by local governments. The implementation of digital-based village head elections in the form of e-voting colors the dynamics of existing policies at the village level. The first e-voting village election in South Sumatra was conducted in Musi Rawas Regency from December 5, 2013 to December 24, 2014, involving 35 villages that took an active role in the success of this program out of a total of 186 villages and 13 sub-districts, and the remaining 151 villages still conduct elections by voting. As an area that pioneered e-voting village elections, South Sumatra was chosen as the research location by taking a case study in one of the villages under the auspices of the local government, namely Bunga karang village. This research aims to conduct an in-depth analysis of the realization of Indonesian democracy in the village head election activities in the realization of e- voting which will assess the achievement of electability and the influence of digital literacy in Bunga Karang Village, Lago District, Banyuasin Regency, South Sumatra Province. This research is a descriptive qualitative research based on a case study in Bunga Karang Village, Lago District, Banyuasin Regency, South Sumatra Province. Abstract

This study aims to describe the application of Sufi concepts of sabr (patience) and ikhlas (sincerity) in the daily lives of students (santri) in an Islamic boarding school (pondok pesantren) environment. Patience and sincerity are central values in Sufism that are believed to shape strong spiritual character and enhance mental resilience in facing life's challenges. This research employs a qualitative approach with a case study method conducted at a traditional Islamic boarding school in East Java. Data were collected through observations, in-depth interviews with caregivers, teachers, and students, as well as documentation of daily pesantren activities. The findings show that the values of patience and sincerity are instilled through spiritual guidance such as wirid (repetitive prayer), Sufi book studies, and a culture of simple living. These values are also reflected in students’ attitudes toward duties, rules, and social interactions within the pesantren. In conclusion, the implementation of the concepts of sabr and ikhlas not only strengthens students’ spiritual character but also fosters a harmonious and conducive atmosphere in pesantren life. The study recommends incorporating Sufi-based approaches as a foundation for character development in Islamic educational institutions.
