Abstract

This study aimed to analyze CBT group counseling with stress inoculation training and cognitive restructuring techniques to reduce students? academic stress. The study used pre-test and multiple post-test design by involving 14 students of Public Senior High School 1 Semarang. Their data were collected using academic stress scale. Meanwhile, the collected data were analyzed by employing mixed ANOVA statistical test. The results showed that CBT group counseling with stress inoculation training and cognitive restructuring techniques were effective to reduce students? academic stress (F(1,12) = 22.591, p < 0.01). These findings assert that CBT group counseling with stress inoculation training and cognitive restructuring techniques is effective to reduce students? academic stress.

Abstract

This study aimed to analyze acceptance and commitment therapy counseling and mindfulness-based cognitive therapy counseling to reduce students? school burnout. To do so, the study employed pretest and multiple posttest design by involving 10 students chosen using purposive sampling from 430 students in Public Senior High School 3 Pati (SMA N 3 Pati). Their data were collected using School Burnout Inventory. Further, the results of repeated measure anova showed that acceptance and commitment therapy and mindfulness-based cognitive therapy counseling were effective to reduce students? school burnout. For more, the discussion in this paper has more focus on the implication of counseling in school practice.

Abstract

This study aimed to analyze the effectiveness of strength based intervention motivational interviewing group counseling to improve students? self-compassion. The study used pretest and multiple posttest design. Purposive sampling was used to select 14 experimental subjects which were grouped into two in random or in other words, 7 people for each group. For more, the data collection technique in this study used self-compassion scale-short form (SCS-SF). The results of mixed repeated measures ANOVA showed that strength based intervention motivational interviewing group counseling was effective to improve self-compassion (F (1.12) = 365.97, p < 0.05). This also could be seen in the effect of time (F (2,24) = 424.98, p < 0.05), and interaction effect between time and group (F (2,24) = 581.59, p < 0.05). These findings assert that strength based intervention motivational interviewing group counseling is effective to improve students? self-compassion.

Abstract

This study aimed at examining and analyzing group guidance with problem solving technique to improve critical thinking in utilizing online information. The study used pre-test and multiple post-test design. For more, purposive sampling technique was employed to divide 14 experimental subjects into two groups randomly with each consisted of seven students. Meanwhile, the researchers used critical thinking scale to collect the data. The results of mixed repeated measures ANOVA showed that the group guidance with problem solving technique was effective to improve students? critical thinking by having the value of (F(1,12) = 125.99, p < 0.05), including when viewed from the time effect (F(2,24) = 96.81, p < 0.05) and the interaction effect between time and group (F(2,24) = 107.22, p < 0.05). This study confirms that the group guidance with problem solving technique is effective to improve students? critical thinking in utilizing online information.

Abstract

This study aimed at examining the influence of behavioral group counseling with self-management and reinforcement techniques to reduce the truancy of MA Assalafiyah Luwunggragi Brebes students. To do so, there were 16 students from class XI involved as the subjects of the study. These students were divided into two groups, namely one group with the treatment of self-management technique, and another group with the treatment of reinforcement technique. For more, the sampling technique used by the researchers was purposive sampling. It was done by inspecting students? attendance list from school counselors. The results showed that there was there was a decrease in students? truancy after receiving behavioral group counseling with self-management and management techniques. Based on these findings, counselors are suggested to apply behavioral group counseling with self-management and reinforcement techniques to reduce students? truancy.

Abstract

This study attempted to analyze the CBT group counseling with problem solving and role play techniques to improve students? emotional intelligence. The study employed pretest and multiple posttest design. Meanwhile, purposive sampling was used to select 18 experimental subjects assigned to three groups randomly, in other words, there were six students in each group. Their data were collected using emotional intelligence scale. The results of mixed ANOVA test showed that the CBT group counseling with problem solving and role play techniques was effective to improve students? emotional intelligence by having (F (1.15) = 12.097, p < 0.05). It was also proved by several effects examined, namely time effect (F (2.30) = 1201.32, p < 0.05), and the effect of time and group interaction (F (2.30) = 6. 427, p < 0.05). These asserted that the CBT group counseling with problem solving and role play techniques is effective to improve students? emotional intelligence.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of Metaphorical Reality group counseling to improve self-esteem in vocational students with nomophobic symptoms. This study used a Pretest-Posttest Random Control Group design involving 14 students selected by purposive sampling grouped into two randomly 7 people for each group. Data collection was performed using the Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale (RSES) and Nomophobia Questionnaire (NMP-Q). Mann-Withney U and Wilcoxon test results showed that the metaphorical reality engineering intervention group increased self-esteem in students with nomophobic symptoms, Z = -2.375, p < 0.05. This finding proves that metaphorical group reality counseling is effective for increasing self-esteem in students who experience symptoms of nomophobia.

Abstract

This study was intended to obtain empirical data on the extent of group guidance with problem solving and self-management techniques to improve the self-efficacy of SMP Negeri 34 Semarang students. To do so, the researchers employed experimental method with pretest posttest design, and involved 27 students of SMP Negeri 34 Semarang selected using purposive sampling technique. The results showed that the group guidance with problem solving and self-management techniques were able to improve the self-efficacy of SMP Negeri 34 Semarang students. Further, the implication of the findings of this study are presented in the discussion chapter.

Abstract

Career Adapt-Abilities Scale is the most frequently used scale to assess career adaptability that has been tested in various countries. Since there has been no adaptation of this scale in Indonesian version, therefore, this study aimed to adapt Career Adapt-Abilities Scale to Indonesian, and examine its validity as well as reliability. The adaptation processes covered (1) understanding original test behavioral indicators, (2) performing back translation, (3) readability test, (4) items discrimination test, (5) validity estimation, and (6) reliability test. The respondents of this study were 797 students coming from Vocational High School (SMK) throughout Temanggung Regency. After the processes were carried out, the study resulted the Indonesian version of Career Adapt-Abilities Scale that consisted of 24 items. Further, the results of confirmatory factor analysis found that all items in Indonesian version were valid, and gained the coefficient values of 0.77 to 0.85 in reliability test. At last, this Career Adapt-Abilities Scale is recommended to be applied as one of career guidance instruments in Vocational High School, and researches

Abstract

Cancer patients are susceptible to physical and psychological problems that result in immune reduction, and depression showed by the feelings of sad, hopeless, failure, dissatisfaction, worse, having low opinion on their body, and feeling close to death. Therefore, this study intended to examine the effectiveness of counseling with Cognitive Restructuring (CR) technique to improve the coping stress of cancer patients. It used Single Subject Design (SSD) with multiple baseline individual pattern. There were eleven observational sessions in this study, namely three sessions of baseline A1, five sessions of intervention, and three sessions of baseline A2. The overall data of coping stress were collected using guidelines from GAS (Goal Attainment Scaling). Further, graph visual analysis was made to obtain mean, data level, rapidity behavior changes, trend of data changes, level stability, and data overlap. After that, the data went through the calculation of t score and z score. The results showed that the counseling with Cognitive Restructuring (CR) technique was able to improve coping stress.
