Abstract

Background: Mentally retarded children have a disorder at a level of intelligence below the average normal child. RM children have difficulty in arranging the form and structure of sentences. Children with RM need to get speech therapy to improve language disorders so that they become productive and improve language skills. The importance of applying lips reading can stimulate language skills so that they can arrange words and string words in sentences. Based on a preliminary study in June 2019 of five (SLB) in Yogyakarta SLBN Pembina, SLBN 1 Bantul, SLBN Sewon Bantul, SLBN Sleman and SLB Rela Bhakti I Gamping. Observations during learning in special schools found that (100%) of five special schools used sign language, they had not been trained using the Lips Reading method. Objectives: To know the influence of lips reading on the language ability of mentally retarded children in special schools. Methods: The type of research was quasi-experimental with pre-test post-test with control group design. The sample was taken by purposive sampling. Data were analyzed using t-test, Wilcoxon and Mann Whitney. Results: The language ability of RM children in Special Schools of Yogyakarta between the experimental and control groups with p value <0.05. Conclusion: There is an influence of Lips Reading on the Language Ability of Mentally Retarded Children in Special Schools Keywords: lips reading; language ability; mentally retarded children; fruit-vegetable-flower picture

Abstract

Early marriage can cause several negative impacts, including vulnerability to incidents of domestic violence, an increased risk of dying during pregnancy and childbirth, and cutting off opportunities to continue education. By looking at some of the negative impacts as described above, prevention of early marriage is a very important effort in order to improve the reproductive health of the nation's future generations. That is why efforts to reduce the rate of early marriage are one of the main programs in the Department of Population Control, Family Planning, Women's Empowerment, and Child Protection in Blitar Regency, Indonesia. In order to participate in increasing the achievement of the aforementioned program, it is necessary to conduct a study to describe the achievement of the program to reduce the early marriage rate in Blitar Regency, so that in turn a recommendation can be proposed for improving strategies so that a reduction in the rate of early marriage in Blitar Regency can be realized in next year. This study is a descriptive study that aims to describe the achievement of the “Population, Family Planning and Family Development” program of the Department of Population Control, Family Planning, Women's Empowerment, and Child Protection of Blitar Regency, in 2018, especially efforts to reduce the rate of early marriage. This study was conducted during November 2018 in the working area of the Department of Population Control, Family Planning, Women's Empowerment, and Child Protection in Blitar Regency. The variable in this study is the age of marriage. Data was collected through a documentation study of secondary data in the form of raw data that is already available at the Department of Population Control, Family Planning, Women's Empowerment, and Child Protection of Blitar Regency. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistical methods, which consisted of the proportion of incidence of early marriage according to month-based time, prediction of the proportion of incidence of early marriage in the future (month-based), and the proportion of early marriage incidence according to sub-district-based clusters. The results showed that: 1) the proportion of the incidence of early marriage from month to month was not much different, with irregular fluctuations, 2) based on the proportion of early marriages per month, a trend line was drawn in the form of a polynomial equation, namely: y = 0.0011x2 - 0.0123x + 0.1357, 3) the average incidence of early marriage was 11.01, the sub-districts that had a high proportion of early marriage were Udanawu, Srengat, Kademangan, Bakung, Kanigoro, Garum, Sutojayan, Wlingi and Selopuro Districts. Furthermore, it was concluded that early marriage in Blitar Regency has an increasing trend, with a striking difference between sub-districts with the highest and lowest incidence of early marriage. South Central Timor Districts is one of regencies in East Nusa Tenggara Province with the highest maternal mortality rate is 290/100,000 live births. Methods: The type of this research was observational analytic with cross sectional design. The sample zize was 95 respondents, selected using systematic random sampling. The categorical data were analyzed using descriptive statistics in the form of frequency and percentage, then analyzed using Chi-square test and logistic regression test. Results: The p-value of childbirth assurance was 0.003 (OR 0.098, 95% CI: 0.019 to 0.509), the p-value of the distance of residence was 0.498 (OR 1.822 95% CI 0.428 to 7.761), p-value of the travel time was 0.710 (OR 1.292 95% CI 0.299 to 5.583), the p-value of customs of the people in choosing the place of labor was 0.010 (13.833 OR 95% CI 2.282 to 83.861). The result of logistic regression test showed that childbirth assurance and customs of the people in choosing where labor was the strongest determinant to use birth place. Conclusion: Childbirth assurance and community habits in choosing the place of delivery had a significant correlation with the use of delivery place. While the distance of residence and travel time are not significant to the use of delivery place. Keywords: place of delivery; childbirth assurance; community habits

Abstract

The development of autistic children both physically, emotionally, intellectually, and psychosocially has a problem that results in the inhibition of children reaching a level of emotional development that is appropriate to their age. Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) in children with autism includes autistic children providing emotional, social, informational, and practical support. An autistic child will feel that he is loved and wanted if more and more people in the family environment love and care for him. The purpose of the study was to know the effect of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) on the emotional development of children with autism. This type of quantitative research uses a Quasi-experiment with the design Pre-test Post-test with Control Group Design. The observation was carried out twice. The first observation is to determine the emotional development of an autistic child before being given Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and the second observation after being given Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). Sampling was done by purposive sampling with the criteria of parents and autistic children aged 6-12 years in the autistic schools of the provinces of Yogyakarta and Ponorogo, East Java. Analyzed analytically using paired t-test and Wilcoxon, with a significant level of p <0.05. the emotional development of children with autism in the experimental group before Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) was given to most categories were good of only 34 children with autism (73.9%) and after Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) most categories were good for 44 autistic children (95.7%). In the control group before most were less as many as 28 children with autism (60.9%) and after most good as many as 17 children with autism (37.0%).The experimental group pre-test and post-test with a value of p (sig) 0.000, meaning there is a difference between pre-test and post-test in the experimental group. In the control group pre-test and post-test with p-value (sig) 0.000 meaning there is a difference between pre-test and post-test in the control group. There was an effect of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) on the emotional development of autistic children.

This type of research was analytic observational, with a cross-sectional design. The population of this study was 332 pregnant women who visited and registered in Maospati Heath Center, Magetan Regency. The sample size in this study was 182 pregnant women who were selected by simple random sampling technique. Data were collected through filling out questionnaires and verbal autopsy documents, maternity medical records, and registers for the cohort of pregnant women. The data were analyzed descriptively, followed by the Chi square test, and ended with the logistic regression test. The results of the analysis showed that the p-values for each factor were: history of hypertension = 0.01, history of obesity = 0.024, history of hormonal family planning = 0.21. Furthermore, it was concluded that a history of hypertension and a history of obesity were the determinants of hypertension in pregnancy in Maospati, Magetan. Keywords: hypertension in pregnancy; history of hypertension; history of obesity ABSTRAK Hipertensi dalam kehamilan adalah gangguan pembuluh darah yang terjadi pada kehamilan atau timbul pada masa kehamilan atau nifas.
