Abstract

This research aims to examine how elementary school teachers enhance students’ reading skills using Indonesian folklore as a learning medium. The study employed a qualitative descriptive approach, with data gathered through classroom observations, teacher interviews, and analysis of instructional materials. The results indicate that teachers apply various contextual teaching strategies, including guided reading, storytelling, group discussions, and vocabulary development using folklore texts. These methods help foster student engagement and improve reading comprehension. The study highlights the importance of integrating local cultural content into literacy instruction at the primary education level.

Abstract

Pembelajaran Gambar Teknik Pembuatan di SMK Negeri 5 Padang saat ini masih menggunakan metode pembelajaran konvensional, seperti ceramah dari guru. Metode konvensional ini kadang-kadang diselingi dengan sesi tanya jawab, yang membuat guru memiliki peran yang dominan pada pengajaran dan belajar berakbiat pada hasil belajar relatif rendah, dan hal ini tidak efektif bagi siswa di kelas yang menimbulkan masalah pada penerapan pembelajaran berbasis proyek, walaupun dari perspektif lain dianggap menjadi suatu alternatif yang terbaik. Model ini memberikan kesempatan untuk siswa menjadi pusat dari proses pembelajaran, mendorong kolaborasi antar siswa, dan mengaktifkan partisipasi siswa, dengan harapan dapat menaikan kemampuan siswa dan hasil belajar mereka. Penelitian ini memakai jenis penelitian tindakan kelas dengan dua siklus research dengan subjek penelitian siswa sebanyak 30 orang berasal dari Teknik Pemesinan kelas XII di SMKN 5 Padang untuk semester gasal bulan Juni–Desember tahun ajaran 2023–2024. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi tugas proyek, penilaian latihan siswa, dan tes berupa soal pilihan ganda. Hasil penelitian mengungkapkan pelajaran berbasis proyek telah berhasil diterapkan dan mampu membangkitkan hasil belajar siswa SMK. Hasil siklus 1 memperoleh hasil belajar mencapai 72,7, dengan 18 siswa dinyatakan berhasil. Hasil siklus 1 memperoleh hasil belajar yang meningkatkan skor menjadi 82,6, dan sebanyak 26 orang siswa dinyatakan berhasil.

Abstract

Dalam era kemajuan teknologi, penggunaan media pembelajaran yang inovatif sangat penting untuk meningkatkan mutu pendidikan serta mempersiapkan peserta didik menghadapi perkembangan Revolusi Industri 4.0. Dalam konteks ini, media pembelajaran AR menawarkan pendekatan yang menarik serta memanfaatkan teknologi terkini. Tujuan penelitian ialah untuk mengembangkan media AR yang mampu meningkatkan minat, konsentrasi, dan pemahaman siswa dalam pembelajaran dasar teknik pemesinan di SMKN 5 Padang. Metode yang digunakan ialah penelitian pengembangan R&D dengan jenis pengembangan Plomp. Tahapan pengembangan meliputi investigasi awal, pembuatan prototipe, dan penilaian. Validitas media pembelajaran AR diuji oleh ahli materi dan ahli media, sedangkan praktikalitasnya dievaluasi oleh guru dan peserta didik. Hasil validasi membuktikan bahwa media pembelajaran AR tersebut valid baik dari materi dan media, dengan nilai validitas berturut-turut sebesar 0,85 dan 0,91. Selain itu, praktikalitasnya juga terbukti tinggi, dengan nilai praktikalitas oleh peserta didik mencapai 0,77 (Sangat Praktis) dan oleh guru mencapai 0,74 (Praktis). Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa media pembelajaran AR yang dikembangkan berhasil memenuhi standar validitas dan praktikalitas, serta memiliki potensi untuk meningkatkan efektivitas pembelajaran dasar teknik pemesinan di SMK N 5 Padang. Dengan demikian media pembelajaran AR ini dapat menjadi alternatif yang efektif dalam mendukung pembelajaran interaktif dan inovatif di era digital saat ini.

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini yaitu merancang bahan ajar yang sesuai karakteristik peserta didik dan diawali dengan analisis kebutuhan peserta didik. Tujuan dari analisis peserta didik ini untuk mengetahui bentuk bahan ajar yang dibutuhkan peserta didik. Jenis penelitian yang dilakukan adalah penelitian dan pengembangan. Subjek penelitian adalah peserta didik kelas V SD 30 Air Dingin Padang. Instrumen yang digunakan berupa angket observasi menggunakan skala likert. Metode yang digunakan metode deskriptif kuantitatif. Penggunaan model pembelajaran IPA terpadu tipe connected, disebabkan karena bahan ajar akan diujicobakan ke SD. Sedangkan pemilihan model pembelajaran analogi, sesuai dengan karakteristik peserta didik yaitu 48% peserta didik sangat setuju belajar IPA dengan contoh yang ada di alam, 32% (setuju), dan 16% (cukup setuju) belajar IPA dengan contoh yang ada di alam. Kemudian 44% (sangat setuju) tertarik belajar IPA dikaitkan dengan kejadian sehari-hari, 32% (setuju), dan 20% (cukup setuju) tertarik belajar IPA dikaitkan dengan kejadian sehari-hari. Diharapkan penelitian ini menjadi pedoman guru dalam mengembangkan bahan ajar.

Abstract

Pengolahan kotoran ternak menjadi pupuk organik merupakan potensi ekonomi bagi peternak, namun proses manual yang masih digunakan kelompok ternak sering menyebabkan rendahnya kapasitas produksi dan kualitas pupuk yang tidak konsisten. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan meningkatkan efisiensi dan kualitas produksi pupuk organik Kelompok Ternak Saiyo Sakato di Dusun Labupacah, Lubuk Basung, melalui penerapan inovasi mesin penepung kotoran ternak berbasis teknologi tepat guna. Metode pelaksanaan meliputi survei kebutuhan mitra, perancangan mesin menggunakan SolidWorks, proses fabrikasi dan perakitan, uji kinerja mesin, serta sosialisasi dan demonstrasi operasional kepada anggota kelompok ternak. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa mesin penepung mampu mempercepat proses produksi dengan menurunkan durasi pengolahan dari 10–14 hari menjadi 3–5 hari, meningkatkan kapasitas produksi dari ±1 ton menjadi ±2 ton per bulan, serta menghasilkan tekstur pupuk yang lebih halus dan seragam. Selain meningkatkan produktivitas, kegiatan ini juga memperkuat keterampilan mitra dalam pengoperasian dan perawatan mesin, sehingga mendorong pemanfaatan teknologi secara mandiri dan berkelanjutan. Program ini turut memberikan pengalaman belajar aplikatif bagi mahasiswa dalam desain dan implementasi teknologi tepat guna. Secara keseluruhan, inovasi mesin penepung memberikan dampak signifikan terhadap peningkatan kapasitas produksi, kualitas pupuk organik, dan kemandirian kelompok ternak, serta menjadi model pemberdayaan masyarakat berbasis teknologi yang dapat direplikasi.

Abstract

IPAS learning in the Merdeka Curriculum is designed to promote meaningful, student-centered learning through discovery-based activities. However, the learning process in grade IV of SD Negeri 01 Bandar Buat, Padang City was still dominated by conventional methods, with lesson modules that were not optimally designed and low student participation, resulting in learning outcomes that did not meet the Minimum Learning Achievement Criteria. This study aimed to improve students’ learning outcomes and learning activities through the implementation of the Discovery Learning model. This research employed Classroom Action Research (CAR) conducted in two cycles involving 28 fourth-grade students. Data were collected through tests and non-test techniques, including learning outcome tests, observations of lesson modules, teacher and student activities, as well as assessments of students’ attitudes and skills. The results showed an improvement in lesson planning quality from 92.86% in Cycle I to 96.43% in Cycle II, teacher activity from 87.50% to 96.88%, and student activity from 81.25% to 96.88%, all categorized as very good. These findings indicate that the Discovery Learning model is effective in improving the quality of IPAS learning processes and learning outcomes in elementary schools.

Abstract

This study was motivated by the suboptimal utilization of technology-based learning media in Natural and Social Sciences (IPAS) instruction at the elementary school level, which causes learning activities to be predominantly teacher-centered, less engaging, and result in low student participation and understanding. Therefore, this research aimed to develop Sparkol Videoscribe-based learning media for Grade V IPAS that meet the criteria of validity, practicality, and effectiveness. This study employed a Research and Development (R&D) approach using the ADDIE development model, which consists of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation stages. The product validity was assessed through expert validation questionnaires involving material experts, media experts, and language experts. The practicality of the media was measured using response questionnaires from teachers and students. The effectiveness of the media was determined based on the comparison of students’ pre-test and post-test results at SDN 24 Batuang Taba as the trial school and SDN 31 Tanjung Aur as the research school. The results showed that the learning media was categorized as very valid, with material validity of 86%, media validity of 86%, and language validity of 94%. The practicality test indicated that the media was very practical, with teacher responses of 91% and student responses of 92% at the trial school, and teacher responses of 94% and student responses of 93% at the research school. The effectiveness test produced N-Gain scores of 0.64 (64%) at the trial school and 0.60 (60%) at the research school, both in the effective category. Thus, the Sparkol Videoscribe-based learning media is valid, practical, and effective for use in IPAS learning in Grade V elementary schools.

Abstract

This study was motivated by the low learning outcomes in Integrated Science and Social Studies (IPAS) among Grade V students at SDN 14 Siguntur, Pesisir Selatan Regency. The low achievement was influenced by students’ lack of focus, low learning motivation, and limited curiosity, which resulted in boredom and reluctance to participate in group activities. From the teacher’s perspective, learning was still dominated by lecture-based methods using standard teaching modules without innovation, and learning resources were limited to textbooks and student worksheets. Therefore, this study aimed to describe the improvement of IPAS learning outcomes through the implementation of the Discovery Learning model for Grade V students. This research employed Classroom Action Research (CAR) using qualitative and quantitative approaches. The study was conducted in two cycles, with Cycle I consisting of two meetings and Cycle II consisting of one meeting. Each cycle included the stages of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The research subjects were one teacher and 23 Grade V students. Research data were obtained from teaching module assessments, learning process observations, and student learning outcomes. The results showed that the teaching module assessment in Cycle I achieved an average score of 85.4% (B), which increased to 91.6% (SB) in Cycle II. Teacher and student learning activities improved from 89.06% (B) in Cycle I to 96.87% (SB) in Cycle II. Student learning outcomes increased from an average score of 74.44% (C) to 85.86% (B). It can be concluded that the Discovery Learning model effectively improves IPAS learning outcomes.

Abstract

Student learning outcomes in science subjects in elementary schools are still relatively low, requiring special attention in the learning process. This study aims to improve student learning outcomes through the application of the Discovery Learning model using classroom action research methods that combine quantitative and qualitative approaches. The study was conducted in two cycles: Cycle I, consisting of two meetings, and Cycle II, consisting of one meeting. The subjects were 22 sixth-grade students at SDN 04 Cubadak Air, Pariaman City. The results showed improvement in each cycle, as evidenced by the average learning outcome, which increased from 70 in Cycle I to 88 in Cycle II, the percentage of teaching module implementation from 72% to 93%, teacher activity from 73% to 94%, and student activity from 75% to 94%.

Abstract

This study was motivated by the suboptimal use of technology in IPAS learning media, which has an impact on student learning. This development created valid, practical, and effective Augmented Reality(AR) learning media based on Assemblr Edu for the IPAS subject in sixth-grade elementary school. This development employed an R&D approach using the ADDIE model. Media validation was obtained through evaluations by subject matter, language, and media experts. The practicality ofthe media was assessed using questionnaires for educators and students. Meanwhile, the effectiveness of the media was determined by comparing pre- and post-tests of students at SDN 35 Parak Karakah and SDN 08 Parak Gadang as pilot schools, as well as SDN 18 Kampung Durian as the research school. The learning media was deemed suitable based on research results that yielded 94.2% content validity, 87.5% media validity, and 95.5% language validity. This media proved to be highly practical for use. Based on teacher feedback of 100% and student feedback of 91.9% at SDN 35 Parak Karakah, SDN 08 Parak Gadang received a teacher response rate of 100% and a student response rate of 90.6%. SDN 18 Kampung Durian also received a practicality score of 95.8% from teachers and 88.9% from students. The effectiveness test yielded an N-Gain score of 0.72 at SDN 35 Parak Karakah, 0.74 at SDN 08 Parak Gadang, and 0.76 at SDN 18 Kampung Durian, with each score falling into the “effective” category. Thus, this AR medium is suitable for implementation in sixth-grade elementary school science education.
