Abstract

Peer social interaction is an important aspect of early childhood social and emotional development. However, some children still experience difficulties in interacting, such as limited communication skills, low cooperation ability, and lack of participation in group activities. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of using animated videos to improve peer social interaction among Group B children at PAUD Dara Itam Ngabang. The study employed a quantitative approach with an experimental method using a one-group pretest–posttest design. The research subjects consisted of 24 children. Data were collected through observation using a social interaction assessment sheet and analyzed using the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test. The results showed an improvement in children’s social interaction across all observed indicators after the implementation of animated videos, with a significance value of 0.000 (p < 0.05), indicating a significant difference between pre-test and post-test results. Therefore, animated videos are proven to be effective as a learning medium to improve peer social interaction in early childhood.

Abstract

Recent large-scale surveys indicate that the use of generative Artificial Intelligence (AI) in higher education has become nearly ubiquitous. A survey in the United Kingdom reported that 92% of university students use generative AI tools in their studies. In contrast, a national Indonesian survey involving 1,501 respondents found that 86.21% use AI to assist with academic tasks at least once a month. Preliminary institutional data further revealed that 68.6% of students reported using AI in nearly every assignment. Such high prevalence suggests that AI use has shifted from occasional assistance to habitual reliance, raising concerns about potential dependency and reduced independent cognitive engagement. Although existing instruments, such as the Cognitive AI Dependence and Interaction Scale (CAIDS), assess attitudes and general interaction patterns toward AI, they do not specifically measure functional and cognitive dependency in academic task completion. Therefore, this study aimed to develop and validate an AI task completion dependency scale for university students. A psychometric scale development design was employed involving 500 students from several universities in Indonesia who reported using AI to complete academic assignments. Data were analyzed using exploratory factor analysis (EFA), confirmatory factor analysis (CFA), Rasch modeling, and differential item functioning (DIF) analysis based on gender. The findings revealed a stable three-factor structure comprising functional dependency on AI, reflective attitude, and independent use, and regulation and critical evaluation of AI, yielding a final 10-item scale. The results indicated preliminary structural support for the three-factor model, acceptable reliability, strong item functioning based on Rasch analysis, and acceptable gender invariance. Overall, the developed instrument provides a valid and reliable measure of students’ dependency on AI in academic task completion and offers a practical tool for evaluating and managing responsible AI use in higher education contexts. Keywords: academic task completion , AI dependency , indonesian students , rasch model , scale development.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of sociodrama techniques in group counseling to improve interpersonal communication among students at Kemala Bhayangkari 1 Junior High School in Kubu Raya. This study uses a quantitative pre-experimental method with a one-group pretest-posttest design. A total of eight students with very low interpersonal communication skills were sampled in this study. The instrument used in this study was an interpersonal communication questionnaire. The results showed that the average questionnaire score of students before receiving the service was in the very low category with an average percentage of 64%, and after receiving the service, it became 78%, which was in the very high category. From the hypothesis testing results using a paired sample t-test assisted by the SPSS for Windows ver.27 program, a sig. (2-tailed) value of 0.000<0.05 was obtained. Therefore, h0 was rejected and ha was accepted, which means that there was an increase in interpersonal communication skills among students before and after the service was provided. It can be concluded that group counseling services using the sociodrama technique are effective in improving the interpersonal communication of students at SMP Kemala Bhayangkari 1 Kubu Raya.

Abstract

Purpose this study was motivated by the limitations of English learning for visually impaired students, which is still dominated by the use of conventional Braille without audio support, resulting in less optimal understanding of pronunciation, vocabulary, and language context. The study aims to describe students’ perceptions, analyze the role of an AI-based Braille–audio dictionary in understanding abstract materials, illustrate active participation, and identify learning obstacles and experiences. Methods this research employed a qualitative approach with a phenomenological method. Data were collected through participatory observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation studies conducted at SLB Negeri Mempawah and SLB Negeri Rasau Jaya. Findings the findings revealed that the integration of Braille and audio improved students’ understanding of vocabulary, pronunciation, and language context more comprehensively. The media also encouraged emotional engagement, active participation, and learning independence. Although technical obstacles and the need to adjust the audio pace were identified, the AI-based Braille–audio dictionary remained effective and relevant in supporting inclusive learning. Research Implications the study suggests that integrating AI-assisted Braille–audio learning media can enhance accessibility and learning outcomes for visually impaired students. The findings provide practical implications for educators, schools, and policymakers in developing more inclusive English language learning environments that support student participation, autonomy, and meaningful learning experiences. Originality this study offers a novel contribution by examining the use of an AI-based Braille–audio dictionary as an inclusive English learning tool for visually impaired students.
