Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendalami, menganalisis, dan mendeskripsikan kepribadian tokoh utama dalam film Asrama Gen Z dengan pendekatan teori psikoanalisis yang dikemukakan oleh Sigmund Freud. Film ini menggambarkan berbagai masalah psikologis yang dihadapi oleh generasi muda, seperti pencarian jati diri, konflik emosional, serta dampak lingkungan sosial dan teknologi terhadap pembentukan kepribadian. Fokus penelitian ini adalah memahami interaksi antara tiga aspek kepribadian: id, ego, dan superego, dalam memengaruhi keputusan, tindakan, serta pergolakan batin tokoh utama, Fattah Fernandez. Metode yang digunakan adalah kualitatif dengan analisis deskriptif untuk menggali kepribadian Fattah. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Fattah mengalami konflik batin akibat pertentangan antara keinginan impulsifnya (id), pemikiran rasionalnya (ego), dan norma sosial serta moral yang dipegangnya (superego). Konflik ini semakin kompleks dengan pengaruh media sosial, tekanan lingkungan, serta perubahan nilai dalam percintaan dan pergaulan generasi muda. Pergolakan batin yang dialami Fattah mencerminkan tantangan psikologis yang dihadapi banyak individu dalam menyeimbangkan hasrat pribadi, rasionalitas, dan norma sosial dalam kehidupan modern.

Abstract

Perkembangan teknologi informasi dan komunikasi berbasis internet semakin hari semakin pesat. Data Kominfo menunjukkan bahwa 98% remaja saat ini tahu dengan internet dan menjadi pengguna aktif bahkan 79,5% diantaranya tidak bisa terlepas dari aktifitas tersebut. Kegiatan belajar mengajar dengan sistem daring pun semakin membuka peluang bagi para remaja untuk semakin dekat dengan dunia digital. Dilain sisi, permasalahan kebebasan penggunaan internet dan kriminalitas dengan basis internet bermunculan dengan berbagai macam teknik dan fenomena baru tentunya. Pemerintah kemudian mengeluarkan kebijakan Undang-Undang Nomor 11 Tahun 2008 tentang Informasi dan Transaksi Elektronik (UU ITE). Banyak diantaranya pengguna internet yang terjebak pidana karena pasal-pasal didalamnya. Selain itu juga, ada dimensi baru yang ditemukan dalam fenomena bersastra diera digital ini yang dikenal dengan Sastra Cyber. Dua hal ini menjadi pemicu bagi tim pengabdi untuk mengangkat tema terkait yang saling berhubungan dan sesuai dengan kondisi saat ini dengan sasaran Pengabdian beberapa sekolah SMK di Batam, Kepulauan Riau. Metoda kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini adalah dengan sharing dan dikusi secara luring dan daring. Kegiatan ini berjalan dengan lancar dan baik. Atusias peserta terlihat dengan tetap hadir secara daring saat terjadi pembatasan (lockdown). Pembinaan Pengetahuan Hukum Informasi dan Transaksi Elektronik (ITE) serta sastra Cyber bagi remaja cocok dilaksanakan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan sisw secara umum.

Abstract

This study aimed to analyze the psychological conflict of the main character in the novel Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn. The main character of this novel is Amy. In conducting this research, the researchers used Sigmund Freud's theory.In his theory, Freud introduced the structure of the human personality into three, namely the id, ego, and superego. In a person's personality, these three structures will rage to highlight their dominance and give birth to an action. This study limits itself to the disclosure of the dominance of the id and the impact of this dominance on the main character. In analyzing this research, the researcher used a qualitative descriptive method. The results of this study indicate that the dominant id in Amy's personality is shown through attitudes including committing murder without guilt to achieve her goals. There is satisfaction in him having made his parents worry about him and Amy's act of lying to the media. The impact of personality that puts forward the structure of the id include: someone becomes a murderer, a liar and even steals.

Abstract

This study investigates the application of positive politeness strategies in formal business correspondence written by native English speakers. The research is motivated by the increasing recognition of politeness as a pragmatic tool in maintaining professionalism and managing interpersonal relationships in written communication. Despite numerous studies on digital communication, there is limited analysis of how politeness strategies are systematically employed in conventional business letters. To address this gap, the study analyzes fifteen letters selected from the Oxford Handbook of Commercial Correspondence. Using Brown and Levinson’s (1987) politeness theory and Nickerson’s (1999) typology of business letter components, the research focuses on elements such as salutations, contexts, pre-closes, closings, signatures, and enclosures. A qualitative descriptive approach was used, with the referential identity technique applied to classify and interpret 121 instances of politeness strategies. The results show that the most frequent strategy was the use of appropriate forms of address (45 instances), followed by establishing common ground, expressing optimism, and asserting knowledge. These strategies appeared consistently across letter components, reflecting their dual function as both communicative and relational tools. The findings highlight the central role of linguistic politeness in reinforcing professionalism, fostering mutual respect, and encouraging future cooperation. This study concludes that positive politeness is not merely ornamental, but a vital rhetorical device in written business interaction. Future research may explore how these strategies vary across cultural contexts or adapt in digital business communications.

Abstract

This study analyzes the representation of women in the novel Jodoh untuk Nirmala by Lis Susanawati using Barbara Welter’s The Cult of True Womanhood theory. The study highlights how the character Nirmala embodies the values of piety, purity, submissiveness, and domesticity as constructed within a patriarchal society. The novel reveals that women are often judged based on their virginity and domestic roles, while men are not held to the same standards. Additionally, it illustrates how patriarchy legitimizes male control over women in marriage. However, beyond portraying women as submissive to social norms, the novel also conveys a feminist message through Nirmala’s struggle to break free from patriarchal constraints. Her decision to divorce Brian represents a form of resistance against oppressive norms. Thus, the novel critiques gender inequality and emphasizes the importance of women’s freedom in determining their own lives.

Abstract

The Wari-Wari tradition of the Karo tribe is a calendar system used to determine good and bad days in various aspects of life. However, knowledge of this system is starting to fade due to modernization and lifestyle changes. This research aims to examine the relationship between astronomy and Wari-Wari and identify the factors that led to its decline. Rahmadi's (2022) relevant dating system theory was used to examine the relationship and tradition of the karo tribe's wari-wari: the determination of good and bad days. A qualitative approach was used with natural observation methods and centered interviews in Suka Sipilihen Village, Tiga Panah Sub-district, Karo Regency. The results showed that Wari- Wari has an astronomical basis related to the movement of the moon and sun, but its understanding is diminishing due to the lack of cultural inheritance and written documentation. Modernization and shifting cultural values have also accelerated its extinction. This study emphasizes the importance of preserving the WariWari tradition through education and documentation to remain sustainable in the midst of changing times.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan mengintegrasikan nilai-nilai etnoekologis ke dalam platform web sastra sebagai media pembelajaran untuk meningkatkan kompetensi mahasiswa broadcasting. Dengan mengangkat kekayaan budaya dan ekologi Sumatera Utara, penelitian ini menempatkan kearifan lokal, praktik lingkungan, dan tradisi budaya sebagai materi penting dalam pengembangan konten media berbasis identitas lokal. Di tengah arus globalisasi, pendekatan ini tidak hanya berfungsi sebagai pelestarian budaya, tetapi juga sebagai sarana edukatif untuk membentuk kepekaan mahasiswa terhadap isu-isu lingkungan. Web sastra yang dikembangkan mengusung perspektif naratif dan teknis yang menggabungkan hubungan antara budaya dan alam. Menggunakan model pengembangan ADDIE (Analisis, Desain, Pengembangan, Implementasi, Evaluasi), penelitian kini berada pada tahap evaluasi kelayakan dan validitas. Evaluasi dilakukan oleh pakar sistem informasi dan materi, meliputi tiga aspek: Konten, Gaya Penulisan, dan Akurasi Informasi. Hasilnya, aspek Konten memperoleh dominasi nilai sangat baik dan baik, Gaya Penulisan menunjukkan perlunya peningkatan, sementara Akurasi Informasi berada dalam kategori baik. Secara umum, platform ini dinilai valid dan layak digunakan untuk tujuan pendidikan, dengan catatan bahwa pengembangan lebih lanjut tetap diperlukan guna meningkatkan mutu dan keterlibatan pengguna. Abstract

Racism is issue that still going on in the world. Different race and skin color make some people believe that they have more privilege than others. The issue of racism can be seen from Hidden Figures movie that was addapted from the book with the same title. Hidden Figures by Theodore Melfi is a story about racism towards African American women who worked in NASA during the space race in 1960. In this research, the researcher takes three main characters named Katherine, Dorothy and Merry who get discrimination in their life because they have different race and skin color as a source. Qualitative descriptive method is the method that was used in this research. The tehcnique of collecting data is by watching the movie and reading the book then collect the utterances and dialogue that have racism issue. The aim of this research is to find out racism in what field that happened in America during 1960 espesially in NASA through Hidden Figures. The result of this analysis found that the racism reflected trough discrimination in education, facility, social, and work.

Abstract

This article discusses the poem “Aku, Nisan, Penghidupan” by Chairil Anwar written in 1945 as a form of expression of freedom and rebellion in the social and political context during the struggle for Indonesian independence. The purpose of this research is to analyze how this poem reflects individual identity and the spirit of struggle through the symbolism used. The method used in this research is a textual study with a literary analysis approach, which allows researchers to explore the deep meaning behind the words and symbols in the poem. The results of the analysis show that Chairil uses the symbol of “I” to express individual freedom and “nisan” to challenge death, while inviting readers to appreciate life.

Abstract

This article represented the study of psychological to investigate the destruction as the main character’s desire fulfillment. Data source applied of this research from movie Joker released in 2019. This research applied theory concept psychology of three main major Lacan related the real, the imaginary and symbolic. Method applied in this research was descriptive analysis with librarian research as collecting data and deep interpretation with psychoanalysis approach as technique analysis data. From the analysis had been done the researchers find various phenomenon relevant with concept psychology of three main major Lacan in movie. The desire for perfection was conception in the desire for fulfilment of the real beginning from desire for created mother figure ideal because joker encounter phenomenon Joker’s mother was disease disorders. Joker also attached with problem financial become depressed in social life. Subject’s desire always felt lack bringing on process mirror for ideal life. Subject felt itself would be happy with laughs loud. Subject started did fulfilment desire with did destruction action as achievements on satisfaction with the level symbolic. This research explored the various efforts of the subject for fulfilment desire with did destruction actions.
