Abstract

This study aims to describe the form of social support that students receive from their parents as a form of social support in choosing students' future careers. Facing the transition to the world of work, students face various problems entering the world of work. Social support, especially from parents, will assist students in overcoming difficulties of confusion in choosing a career, lack of information obtained, and strengthening skills in entering the world of work. This type of research is descriptive quantitative with percentage data analysis techniques. The population is Guidance and Counseling final-year students, totaling 95 people with a total sampling technique. The results of the study illustrate that 65 respondents received social support in the high category, 12 respondents were included in the very high category, 13 respondents were included in the sufficient category and 5 respondents received low social support from their parents. Of the five aspects of social support, emotional support is the highest with an average score of 20.21, appreciation support 20.47, instrument support 19.96, information support 18.98, and social network support 15.26. There needs to be an increase in social support in the aspect of social networking from parents because it will provide broad opportunities for students to enter the world of work later.

Abstract

Pada 2019, masyarakat global memasuki era masyarakat 5.0. Masa ini memiliki efek positif dan negatif terhadap kehidupan manusia. Ini adalah masa manusia dan teknologi bekerja sama untuk memenuhi kebutuhan manusia. Mahasiswa perguruan tinggi harus disiapkan untuk menjadi sumber daya manusia berkualitas tinggi yang dapat beradaptasi dengan era masyarakat 5.0. Hal ini dicapai melalui bimbingan dan konselor di perguruan tinggi. Dengan menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif dan pendekatan studi literatur, Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mempelajari, membahas, dan menganalisis adaptasi pelaksanaan bimbingan dan konsultasi di perguruan tinggi pada era masyarakat 5.0. Sumber data penelitian meliputi buku, artikel ilmiah, laporan hasil penelitian, dan salinan dokumen peraturan.

Abstract

Guidance and counseling supervision aims to provide self-development facilities, and school counselor skills to improve counselor competence and increase responsibility in counseling and create guidance service programs. Found that the purpose of a school supervisor for guidance and counseling can use several approaches including conducting assessments, prevention, motivation, and providing reinforcement to find out the benefits of the program and the implementation of guidance and counseling in schools that have been achieved. and knowing progress and weaknesses, as well as having preventive steps to avoid deviations because prevention is better than repair. The research method is literature study, collecting data by finding sources and constructing them from various sources such as books, journals, and existing research. The results and discussion of the results of the research conducted at the school is that the school principal and the school superintendent are functional officials who serve as technical implementers to supervise the education of certain designated or designated schools.

Abstract

Today in the era of the Covid-19 pandemic, this study aims to: (1) describe the mindfulness of students in learning during the Covid-19 pandemic, (2) describe student life satisfaction in learning during the Covid-19 pandemic, and (3) test Mindfulness relationship with student life satisfaction in learning during the Covid-19 pandemic. The research approach used a quantitative approach with a descriptive correlational type. The population in this study were students of SMA Negeri 2 Sungai Limau with a proportional random sampling technique. Data collection was carried out through mindfulness and student life satisfaction questionnaires in learning. Furthermore, the data were analyzed using descriptive statistics with percentage techniques, and to test for normality, linear test and the relationship between the two variables used statistical analysis using the Pearson product moment technique with the help of SPSS version 20.0 for windows. Based on the results of the study, it was found: (1) students' mindfulness was in the high category with an average percentage of 43%, (2) the life satisfaction of students was in the medium category with an average percentage of 70.3% and (3) there was a relationship between mindfulness and Student life satisfaction in learning during the Covid-19 pandemic was 0.632 with a significant level of 99%. The implication of guidance and counseling services is that guidance and counseling teachers provide services to students related to mindfulness problems and student life satisfaction in learning during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Abstract

This study aims to demonstrate the effectiveness of group mentoring services utilizing assertive training techniques in enhancing the interpersonal communication skills of students. A quasi-experimental design was employed, with a sample of twenty students from a public junior high school in Indonesia, evenly divided into experimental and control groups using probability sampling with simple random sampling techniques. Interpersonal communication skills were assessed using instruments developed by the researchers and evaluated by experts. Data analysis involved the Wilcoxon signed-rank test and Kolmogorov-Smirnov. The results indicate a significant increase in the interpersonal communication skills of the experimental group students, with their average scores increasing from 67.2 before receiving group counseling services to 123 after implementing assertive training techniques. In contrast, the control group's average scores increased from 87.1 to 105.6 after the same intervention. This study highlights the effectiveness of group mentoring with assertive training techniques in enhancing students’ interpersonal communication skills, contributing valuable insights to the field of educational psychology and counseling.

Abstract

This study employed a randomized experiment with a control group design and utilized a validated and reliable questionnaire for data collection. It investigates the efficacy of information services employing an inquiry model compared to those without special treatment in enhancing students' self-confidence. The sample comprised 58 students from a State Junior High School in Padang. Data analysis involved t-tests and statistical tests utilizing n-gain scores, with the research instrument employing a Likert scale model. The findings indicate that information services utilizing the guided inquiry model are more effective in enhancing students' self-confidence. Further discussion was explained in the article.

Abstract

Self Disclosure is one of the social skills that must be possessed, especially for overseas students. These social skills will give birth to social interactions that will create good psychosocial conditions in social relationships. This study aims to describe the level of self-disclosure of overseas students in the Guidance and Counseling study program at the Bukittinggi State Islamic University. This type of research includes a quantitative descriptive research instrument, namely the self-disclosure scale. The population in the study were guidance and counseling students from outside West Sumatra, totaling 43 people. Sampling was taken using a non-probability sampling technique with a purposive sampling technique. The results of the study revealed that the self-disclosure level of overseas students at Bukittinggi State Islamic University was in the moderate category with 65.11% while the highest self-disclosure aspect was in the aspect of cultural perception. Research findings based on gender reveal that female students are more open than male students, namely in the aspects of perception of culture, perception of gender, perception of listeners, and perception of topics while men are more open in aspects of self-knowledge.

Abstract

Tujuan pendidikan nasional adalah agar peserta didik mempunyai potensi menjadi manusia yang berkarakter. Namun tujuan pendidikan nasional tidak dapat tercapai jika terdapat permasalahan dalam prosesnya. Menurunnya nilai-nilai karakter siswa menjadi sebuah permasalahan. Sikap tidak etis terhadap guru dan berbagai pelanggaran peraturan perundang-undangan menjadi bukti menurunnya nilai karakter di sekolah. Permasalahan ini berpotensi menghancurkan negara sehingga perlu dicarikan solusinya agar tidak semakin parah. Budaya yang diperkenalkan ke sekolah adalah solusinya. Budaya sekolah membantu siswa menjadi lebih baik. Siswa tidak hanya memperoleh karakter saat proses pembelajaran di kelas melalui budaya sekolah. Dengan memasukkan budaya karakter siswa ke dalam budaya sekolah, diharapkan nilai-nilai karakter siswa akan semakin meningkat. Hal ini akan membantu memulihkan nilai-nilai nasionalis, keagamaan, gotong royong, nasionalis, dan integritas.

Abstract

Bullying among adolescents in Indonesia frequently occurs and has shown an increase. Adolescents tend to engage in bullying, partly due to egocentric thinking, which involves difficulty in distinguishing their own perspective from that of others. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the rational emotive behavior therapy approach in a group setting in reducing the egocentrism of bullying perpetrators. This research employs a quantitative experimental approach using a Control Group Pretest-Posttest design. The study involves 218 students from SMA Negeri 10 Medan who were identified as bullying perpetrators. The sample consists of 16 students selected through purposive sampling. The research instrument is a scale measuring the egocentrism of bullying perpetrators. Data analysis was conducted using the Wilcoxon test and the Mann-Whitney U test. The results indicate that the rational emotive behavior therapy approach is effective in reducing the egocentrism of bullying perpetrators.
