Abstract

The tobacco industry tries to attract the attention of young people as potential consumers through cigarette advertisements on various platforms, one of which is cigarette advertisements on social media. Cigarette advertisements on social media appear and are broadcast directly or indirectly through television, radio, billboards, and other media. This study aims to determine how the influence of cigarette advertisements on social media and religiosity can affect smoking intentions in adolescents. This study uses quantitative research with a cross-sectional design with a population of 2,203 people and a sample size of 1000 respondents. The sampling technique in this study uses purposive sampling criteria to determine the sample, which includes 11th - 12th-grade students who have social media applications. The variables analyzed include cigarette advertisements (whether or not they have seen cigarette advertisements on social media, intensity, and duration), smoking intention (purchase intention and family smoking behavior), and self-religiosity (intensity of listening to lectures on the law of smoking and duration). This research was conducted at State Aliyah Madrasah 2 Model Medan in January 2024. Primary data came from Google Forms questionnaires distributed directly to students. To test this research, the variables analyzed were cigarette advertising, smoking intention, and religiosity. This study uses a correlation test and multiple linear regression test using SPSS version 20. This study shows the results that cigarette advertisements on social media affect adolescents' intentions regarding smoking behavior (Sig < 0.007), and there is an effect of religiosity on adolescents' intentions regarding smoking behavior (Sig < 0.001). The influence of cigarette advertisements on adolescent smoking intention and the results of religiosity research show that smoking intention is influenced by a lack of self-control and low self-confidence, so the desire to smoke cannot be minimized.Keyword: Religiosity, Smoking intention, Social Media, Teenegers, Tobacco advertisement.

Abstract

Sibolga City is one of the priority cities in the effort to accelerate stunting reduction. Sibolga City implements an accelerated stunting prevalence reduction program that involves cross-sectors, better known as the convergence action to accelerate stunting reduction. The purpose of the study was to evaluate the implementation of the convergence program to accelerate stunting reduction in Sibolga City. This research is a qualitative study involving 18 informants from  Regional Work Units  that are members of the Sibolga City  Stunting Reduction Acceleration Team. This research was conducted in November 2023 in Sibolga City, which consists of 4 sub-districts and 17 villages. Data were collected by conducting Focus Group Discussions and in-depth interviews. Furthermore,  Data is analyzed through triangulation of methods, sources, and between researchers. The results of the analysis of the effectiveness of the program show that the quality of human resources and financing sources is good enough to reduce the stunting rate in the kelurahan which is the locus of stunting. Likewise, the results of the analysis of the program implementation process. The program planning that was prepared was in accordance with the problems obtained in the situation analysis and had targeted the locus villages determined in the situation analysis. The implementation and evaluation process has also been carried out well, which ultimately has an impact on reducing the stunting prevalence rate by 11.3%. As an effort to encourage a greater reduction in stunting prevalence, we recommend that the Sibolga City Government increase human resource capacity and funding, encourage the involvement of various parties including the private sector in accelerating stunting reduction programs in Sibolga City, improve coordination between Regional Work Units in the planning, implementation and evaluation processes and encourage the availability of a quality and sustainable data management system in each villageKeywords: Accelerate, Convergence, Reduction, Prevalence, Stunting

Abstract

Family planning programmes are not optimal for Muslim women; this is inseparable from the view that contraception is controversial in Islamic teachings. This study aims to examine the influence of the ideal number of children, the role of husbands, the desired last child, and the type of contraception in Muslim women of childbearing age from the perspective of Islam and health. This study used data from the 2017 IDHS in Aceh, West Sumatra, Riau, West Java, Central Java, and East Java on 5797 Muslim women from January to December 2022. The results of this study showed a significant association between the ideal number of boys (p<0.001; PR = 1.332), number of daughters (p<0.001; PR = 1.289), husbands who decide (p=0.004), and contraceptive types (p<0.001; PR = 1.205) with family planning use. The family planning use is influenced by factors such as gender preference, joint decision-making, and the type of contraceptive used. Modern contraceptives are more effective and reliable, suggesting a trend toward modern methods for family planning.

Abstract

Abstract

Posyandu (integrated service post) is the government's effort to provide maternal and child health services to make things easier for the Indonesian people. Posyandu is also an organization that can mobilize local communities to carry out outreach and mutual cooperation to clean the environment around the community so that it can be healthy and clean. The aim of this research is to determine community participation in posyandu, the impact and benefits of posyandu, the obstacles felt by cadres and participants, and also funding to organize the posyandu program. This qualitative research is descriptive. This research collects data by interviewing sources. Interviews were conducted with questions and answers regarding the organization of the Posyandu program with sources who supported this research. Improvements are needed, such as providing more complete facilities, strategic locations, and timeliness of programs, to maintain and increase the effectiveness of community empowerment programs through posyandu. Community participation in empowerment programs, especially through posyandu, has a significant positive impact on monitoring children's health. Community enthusiasm and the active role of cadres in providing education about nutrition, immunization and disease prevention create an environment that supports children's welfare.
