Abstract

This research was conducted in January-July 2021 at the Marine Science Technology Biology Laboratory, Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences, Universitas Riau. The purpose of the study was to see the effect of a combination dose of vitamin C and thyroxine hormone (T4) on the growth rate and survival of bream reared in a recirculation system. The method used was an experimental method using a factorial complete randomized design (CRD) with 2 factors and 3 replicates. The first factor is vitamin C, while the second factor is the dose of tyrrhosine hormone (T4) given during maintenance. The doses of vitamin C used in this study were; 0 mg/kg (V0), 500 mg/kg (V1), 1000 mg/kg (V2). Doses of thyroxine hormone (T4) used were doses; 0 mg/kg (H0), 4 mg/kg (H1), 6 mg/kg (H2), 8 mg/kg (H3). The Asian redtail catfish used were 8-10 cm in size and reared in a round container made of PE plastic with a diameter of 56 cm and a height of 48 cm, totaling 36 units. The pellets used were Hi-Provite 781-2 with 31% protein, with feeding done 3 times a day ad satation. The results showed that the addition of vitamin C and thyroxine hormone influenced the growth of Asian redtail catfish reared in the recirculation system. The combination of vitamin C 1000 mg/kg and thyroxine hormone 8 mg/kg feed gives the highest growth and survival, seen from the absolute weight growth rate of 12.97 g, specific growth rate of 1.93 g/day, and 95% survival. Water quality during rearing was favorable for the growth of Asian redtail catfish, with temperature ranging from 28-30oC, pH 6.5-7.0, and DO 4.2-5.95 ppm.

Abstract

Aquapreneurship adalah wirausaha yang bergerak dibidang budidaya perikanan. Duta Guppy merupakan kelompok kewirausahaan yang bergerak dalam bidang budidaya ikan hias yang diketuai oleh Dimas Gusriansyah. Kelompok Duta guppy memiliki indukan dewasa sebanyak 10 pasang, indukan remaja sebanyak 50 pasang. PKM ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan jiwa aquapreneurship dalam budidaya ikan hias pada kelompok “Duta Guppy” sehingga meningkat skill dan keterampilan serta inovatif dalam berwirausaha. Pada kegiatan ini menghadapi beberapa tantangan utama, termasuk tingkat kematian benih yang tinggi, keterbatasan wadah pemeliharaan, serta teknik pemasaran dan pengelolaan keuangan yang masih sederhana. Untuk mengatasi permasalahan tersebut, tim PKM melaksanakan serangkaian pelatihan dan pendampingan yang berfokus pada manajemen penanganan penyakit, manajemen usaha, cara pembuatan proposal, serta pembukuan usaha. Pelatihan yang diberikan mencakup pembuatan proposal untuk pendanaan, pemanfaatan jamu fermentasi untuk kesehatan ikan, dan manajemen kelompok serta motivasi usaha. Sebagai bentuk dukungan konkret, tim juga memberikan bantuan berupa rak display akuarium untuk meningkatkan presentasi produk dan daya tarik visual dalam pemasaran. Evaluasi menunjukkan adanya peningkatan pengetahuan mitra dalam mengatasi gangguan pada ikan dan kemampuan membuat proposal untuk bantuan pembiayaan.

Abstract

This study aimed to discover the effects of different salinities on histopathological Pangasianodon hypophthalmus. The method used is experimental by applying a completely randomized design (CRD) with four treatments: salinity 0 ppt, salinity 5 ppt, salinity 7 ppt, and salinity 9 ppt. The fish specimen is 8-10 cm in length and weighs 5 g. It was raised in a 54 L tank containing 40 L of water at a density of 2 fish 1 L-1 and kept for 45 days. Feed with commercial pellet 3 times a day in satiation. The results showed histopathological changes in gills and kidneys occurred at a salinity of 9 ppt. Chloride cell hypertrophy and secondary lamella bend in the gill organs, while the kidneys have acute tubular necrosis. Meanwhile, a salinity of 7 ppt resulted in abnormalities in the kidney organs with hemorrhage. It can be concluded that a salinity of 5 ppt indicates a safe salinity condition for the maintenance of striped catfish.

Abstract

Desa Rumbai Bukit Pekanbaru memiliki potensi perikanan yang cukup besar, terutama dalam budidaya ikan patin. Pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk mengoptimalisasikan pemasaran produk olahan ikan patin melalui pemanfaatan pasar online. Kegiatan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat ini dilaksanakan dengan metode pelatihan secara langsung yang terdiri dari 4 tahapan dengan melibatkan mitra para pembudidaya ikan patin dan masyarakat di Rumbai Bukit Pekanbaru. Tahapan 1 yaitu identifikasi masalah dan kebutuhan pembudidaya dan masyarakat; 2. pelaksanaan pelatihan dan workshop; 3. pendampingan dan 4. evaluasi dan monitoring. Produk olahan ikan patin memiliki potensi pasar yang besar. Program pengabdian masyarakat ini telah berhasil membantu para pembudidaya dan pelaku usaha olahan ikan patin di Rumbai Bukit menggunakan pasar online sebagai alat pemasaran yang efektif. Produk olahan ikan patin yang telah dikemas yaitu nugget, bakso, dan surimi. Produk-produk ini dibuat dari daging ikan patin segar berkualitas tinggi yang dipanen langsung dari kolam budidaya Pokdakan Mina Usaha dan dipasarkan dalam bentuk frozen food. Hasil evaluasi menunjukkan terjadi peningkatan pengetahuan dan keterampilan pemasaran digital; peningkatan penjualan dan jangkauan pasar; dan pengelolaan pengiriman yang lebih baik. Capaian dari 4 kriteria pertanyaan pengolahan produk ikan patin, seperti pengolahan produk ikan patin, pemasaran produk olahan ikan patin, harga produk olahan ikan patin, dan prospek pengembangan usaha produk olahan ikan patin masih dibawah 60%. Namun demikian sudah bisa dikatakan memadai untuk mengoptimalisasi pemasaran produk olahan ikan patin melalui pemanfaatan pasar online.

Abstract

Striped catfish (Pangasianodon hypophthalmus) is a widely cultivated type of superior food fish. Intensive cultivation of catfish can cause disease. Feeding striped catfish with guava leaf extract is expected to reduce stress, which can be seen in striped catfish's hematological and physiological conditions. This research aims to obtain a dose of guava leaf extract (Psidium guajava L) to improve the health of striped catfish. The method used in the study was an experimental method that applied a one-factor, Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with five treatment levels. The treatment used was without adding guava leaf extract (P0); P1, P2, P3, and P4 with doses of 25, 50, 75, and 100 mL/kg feed, and all treatments were tested against Aeromonas hydrophila. The fish used in this research were 250 striped catfish seeds measuring 6-8 cm and kept for 45 days. Feeding with the addition of guava leaf extract at a dose of 75 mL/kg of feed had an influence on the hematological and physiological profile of post-challenge catfish, such as total erythrocytes of 2.40x106 cells/mm3, hematocrit 35.66%, hemoglobin levels 9.61 g/dL, total leukocytes 10.54x 104 cells/mm3, blood glucose levels of 78.00 mg/dL and phagocytic activity 35.66%. Absolute weight growth 17.76 g, feed efficiency 41.07%.

The purpose of this study was to identify the types of pathogenic bacteria Cyprinus carpio that were reared in floating cages. This study used a survey method that is purposive sampling and the fish sample were obtained from, PLTA Koto Panjang. the fishes were identified in the Fish Parasite and Disease Laboratory, Fish and Marine Faculty, University of Riau. Fish samples used were 15-20 cm goldfish totaling 12 tails with 3 times taken from 4 different cages. The kidneys organ were examined and to find out the type the bacteria. Result shown identified of pathogenic bacteria consist of 3 types of bacteria namely Aeromonas sp., Pseudomonas sp., and Edwardsiella sp. Water quality during the study was Temperature: 27-300C, pH 6-7, DO 3.67-4.28 ppm, and ammonia 0.048-0.64 mg/L.

Abstract

Koto Masjid Village is the largest production center in striped catfish fish farming activities in Riau Province. One of the inhibiting factors is the disease caused by bacteria, this study aims to determine the types of pathogenic bacteria that have the potential to infect striped catfish. This research was conducted in August - November 2019, samples of striped catfish used in the study amounted to 15 tails with an average length of 15-25 cm taken from 5 ponds in Kampung II, Koto Masjid Village, XIII Koto Kampar Subdistrict, and then identified bacteria by Conventional Laboratory in Fish Parasites and Diseases, Faculty of Fisheries and Marine, Riau University, Pekanbaru. This study uses a survey method that is by taking samples from the field in Pu and then the isolation of bacteria is carried out from the kidney organ in the TSB media then purified on the TSA media. The results of the study found 3 types of pathogenic bacteria namely Aeromonas sp., Edwardsiella sp., and Pseudomonas sp. Water quality during the study was pH 6.6-70, DO 4.05-4.35 mg/L, NH3 0.035-0.2 mg/L and Temperature 28-300C.

Abstract

This research has been carried out from November to December 2019 at the Laboratory of Parasites and Fish Diseases at the Fisheries and Marine Faculty of Riau University. The aim of the study was to obtain the best dose of mango leaf solution for the treatment of striped catfish (P. hypophthalmus) infected with E. tarda, seen from the erythrocyte picture. The method used was an experiment with a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) of a factor of five treatment levels and replications three times. Test fish used were striped catfish measuring 8-12 cm, with a total of 150 fish. The treatments used for treatment were 1000 ppm, 1200 ppm, 1400 ppm, negative controls (not infected and not treated), and positive controls (infected and not treated). Parameters measured and observed among others; total erythrocytes, hemoglobin levels, hematocrit values, erythrocyte cell morphology and survival rate. The results showed that apple mango leaf solution (M. indica) was able to treat conjoined striped catfish infected with E. tarda by Emmersion method. The best treatment of 1200 ppm is characterized by an average total erythrocyte, mean total erythrocytes 149.33 x 104 cells / mm3, hemoglobin level 9.03 g / dL, hematocrit value 35.67% and the survival of the test fish after treatment is 86.67%. The results of water quality measurements during the study, namely temperature 27.00-27.46 0C, pH 6.1-6.77, dissolved oxygen 3.53-3.87 mg/L, and ammonia 0.02 mg/L.
