Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the Reciprocal Teaching learning model on the reading comprehension ability of news texts among seventh-grade students at SMP Negeri 2 Hiliduho. The research employed a quasi-experimental method with a Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The pretest results showed that the initial abilities of students in the experimental and control classes were comparable, with average scores of 64.57 and 65.87, respectively. After the treatment, the experimental class showed a significant increase, achieving a posttest average of 81.52, while the control class only reached 74.35. The Reciprocal Teaching model proved effective in creating a collaborative learning environment, encouraging students to think critically, engage in discussions, and teach one another. In contrast, the control class, which used the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model, demonstrated lower participation and higher dependence on the teacher. The hypothesis test showed a significance value of 0.001 < 0.05, indicating that the alternative hypothesis (Ha) was accepted and the null hypothesis (Ho) was rejected. These results indicate a significant effect of the Reciprocal Teaching model on students’ ability to comprehend news texts. Therefore, this model is recommended as an effective teaching strategy to enhance students’ reading comprehension, particularly in news text material at the junior high school level.

Abstract

This study aims to improve the ability of eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 2 Sogaeadu in identifying short story elements through the application of the SQ4R method. The background of this study is the low interest of students in reading literary works and their lack of understanding of effective reading strategies. The study used a Classroom Action Research (CAR) design which was carried out in two cycles, each including the planning, implementation, observation, and reflection stages. The results showed a significant increase in student learning outcomes, from an average of 59.2% in cycle I to 82.4% in cycle II. The percentage of student involvement also increased from 42%-52% (cycle I) to 71%-90% (cycle II), while observations of researcher performance increased from 56%-75% (cycle I) to 87.5%-100% (cycle II). These findings prove that the SQ4R reading method is effective in improving students' ability to identify short story elements through systematic and easy-to-apply steps.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) learning model on students' ability to review fictional works in class VIII of SMP Negeri 1 Gunungsitoli. This study uses a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental method, with a non-equivalent control group design. The population in this study were all students of class VIII of SMP Negeri 1 Gunungsitoli, while the research sample consisted of two classes, namely class VIII-C as the experimental class and class VIII-F as the control class, each totaling 31 students. The research instrument used was a pretest and post-test in the form of essays. The results of the validity test showed that all test items were valid with a calculated r value > r table (example: question number 3 r count = 0.905 > r table = 0.367). The reliability test showed a value of α = 0.78 which means the instrument is reliable. The difficulty level ranged from 69.60% to 77.33% (moderate to easy category), and the discriminating power ranged from 0.20–0.32 (sufficient to moderate category). The average pretest score for the experimental class was 63.58, and the posttest score increased to 80.61. Meanwhile, in the control class, the average pretest score was 62.38, and the posttest score increased to 71.35. Based on the results of the independent t-test, t = 3.82 and t = 2.00 were obtained at a significance level of 5%.

Abstract

This study aims to improve students' ability to write speech texts using the Cooperative Learning Type STAD learning model. This research is a qualitative and quantitative classroom action research (PTK) conducted in two cycles. The research subjects were 27 students of class VIII of SMP Negeri 1 Botomuzoi in the 2025/2026 learning year. The data collection techniques used included observation sheets, essay texts, field notes, and documentation. The results showed a significant increase in students' abilities. In cycle I, the average student score was 53.52% with the lowest score of 40 and the highest score of 70. Student observation results in cycle I were at an average of 47% in the first meeting and 56% in the second meeting. Meanwhile, in cycle II, the average student score increased to 80% with the lowest score of 65 and the highest score of 90. The results of student observations also increased rapidly to 70% in the first meeting and 82% in the second meeting. Based on these findings, it can be concluded that the Cooperative Learning Type STAD learning model is effective in improving the ability of grade VIII students of SMP Negeri 1 Botomuzoi in writing speech text.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan menulis surat resmi melalui model Pembelajaran Cooperative, Intergrated, Reading and Compostion (CIRC) di UPTD SMP Negeri 1 Gunungsitoli Barat tahun pembelajaran 2024/2025. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK) dengan menggunakan 4 tahapan yakni 1) Perencanaan, 2) Tindakan, 3) Observasi 4) Refleksi. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan sebanyak 2 siklus. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terjadi peningkatan kemampuan peserta didik pembelajaran siklus I, dengan rata-rata nilai belajar 44%. Nilai terendah yang dicapai adalah 33 dan nilai tertingginya adalah 66, yang masih dikategorikan cukup. Namun, pada siklus II, terjadi peningkatan yang lebih signifikan dengan rata-rata hasil belajar mencapai 79,75%. Nilai terendah pada siklus II adalah 44 dan nilai tertinggi 88 yang termasuk dalam kategori baik.  Dengan demikian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa model Cooperative, Integrated, Reading and Compostion (CIRC) efektif meningkatkan kemampuan menulis surat resmi di kelas VII UPTD SMP Negeri 1 Gunungsitoli Barat Tahun Pembelajaran 2024/2025.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan media pembelajaran audiovisual berbasis teknologi melalui podcast dalam rangka meningkatkan keterampilan menyimak berita siswa kelas VII UPTD SMP Negeri 1 Gunungsitoli Barat. Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya minat dan hasil belajar siswa dalam menyimak berita, serta keterbatasan media pembelajaran yang digunakan guru di kelas. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan Research and Development (R&D) dengan model ADDIE (Analyze, Design, Develop, Implement, dan Evaluate). Produk berupa media podcast dikembangkan dan divalidasi oleh tiga ahli, yaitu ahli materi, ahli bahasa, dan ahli desain. Hasil validasi menunjukkan bahwa media sangat layak, dengan skor validasi akhir: ahli materi 100%, ahli bahasa 100%, dan ahli desain 96%. Media diuji coba pada dua tahap, yaitu uji coba kelompok kecil dengan 6 siswa, dan uji coba lapangan dengan 32 siswa. Hasil kepraktisan berdasarkan angket respon siswa menunjukkan nilai 92,5% (kelompok kecil) dan 92,73% (lapangan), yang dikategorikan sangat praktis. Efektivitas media diuji melalui tes hasil belajar. Hasilnya, seluruh siswa kelompok kecil (100%) tuntas, sedangkan pada uji coba lapangan, 93,75% siswa tuntas (30 dari 32 siswa), menunjukkan media sangat efektif. Dengan demikian, media podcast berbasis teknologi dinyatakan valid, praktis, dan efektif untuk digunakan dalam pembelajaran Bahasa Indonesia, khususnya dalam meningkatkan keterampilan menyimak berita siswa. Diharapkan pada peneliti selanjutnya menggunakan penelitian ini sebagai tambahan wawasan untuk melaksanakan penelitian.

Abstract

Stuktur Teks Negosiasi adalah Orientasi, merupakan pemaparan pendahuluan dari pihak ke-1 dan pihak ke-2 untuk mempelajari paparan masing-masing, sehingga permasalahan menjadi jelas. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk pengembangan bahan ajar Handout pada materi menganalisis stuktur teks negosiasi yang layak, praktis dan efektif. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian pengembangan dengan menggunakan model ADDIE yang terdiri dari Analisis (Analysis), Desain (Design), Pengembangan (Development), Implementasi (Implementation), Evaluasi (Evaluation). Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan yaitu angket validasi ahli materi, validasi ahli bahasa, dan validasi ahli desain, serta angket respon peserta didik dan efektivitas terhadap hasil belajar peserta didik. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian ini maka pengembangan bahan ajar Handout pada materi menganalisis stuktur teks negosiasi. Telah memenuhi kriteria sangat layak yaitu Hasil angket penilaian kelayakan pengembangan bahan ajar Handout oleh validator ahli materi pada revisi I dengan pencapaian 56% dan revisi II dengan pencapaian 86%. Hasil angket penilaian kelayakan pengembangan bahan ajar Handout oleh validator ahli bahasa pada revisi I dengan pencapaian 54% dan revisi II dengan pencapaian 88%. Hasil angket penilaian kelayakan pengembangan bahan ajar Handout oleh validator ahli desain pada revisi I dengan pencapaian 58% dan revisi II dengan pencapaian 94%. Hasil kepraktisan pada uji coba kelompok kecil mencapai 89% dan uji coba lapangan mencapai 92% dengan kriteria sangat praktis. Hasil efektivitas pada uji coba kelompok kecil mencapai 100% dan pada uji coba lapangan mencapai 90% dengan kriteria sangat baik dan efektif. Dapat disimpulakan bahawa pengembangan bahan ajar Handout layak, praktis dan efektif digunakan dalam proses pembelajaran di kelas X SMA Negeri 2 Alasa.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan menulis teks negosiasi siswa kelas X SMK Negeri 1 Hiliserangkai Tahun Pembelajaran 2024/2025 melalui penerapan model pembelajaran kooperatif Student Teams Achievement Division (STAD). Penelitian ini merupakan Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) yang dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus. Setiap siklus terdiri dari tahap perencanaan, pelaksanaan tindakan, observasi, dan refleksi. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan lembar observasi, tes hasil belajar, catatan lapangan, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa model STAD mampu meningkatkan keterampilan menulis siswa. Aktivitas siswa mengalami peningkatan dari 67,92% pada pertemuan pertama siklus I menjadi 86,15% pada pertemuan kedua siklus II. Aktivitas Peneliti juga meningkat dari 52,5% menjadi 87,5% pada pertemuan kedua siklus II. Nilai rata-rata kemampuan menganalisis struktur teks negosiasi siswa meningkat dari 59,75 pada siklus I menjadi 84,25 pada siklus II. Demikian pula, nilai rata-rata kemampuan menganalisis kaidah kebahasaan meningkat dari 60,93 menjadi 77,7. Berdasarkan hasil tersebut, dapat disimpulkan bahwa model pembelajaran STAD efektif digunakan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan menulis teks negosiasi siswa.

Abstract

Students' ability to write news texts is often hampered by a lack of understanding of the structure and elements of good news texts. This condition causes students' writing results to not meet the criteria for language, completeness of information, and factual accuracy. This study aims to improve students' ability to write news texts through the application of the Two Stay Two Stray (TSTS) learning model in class VII-A students of SMP Negeri 1 Hiliduho. The TSTS model was chosen because it can increase interaction between students, encourage the exchange of information, and foster a deep understanding of the material through structured group discussions. The type of research used is Classroom Action Research (CAR) which is carried out in two cycles. Each cycle includes four stages, namely (1) planning, (2) implementation of actions, (3) observation, and (4) reflection. The research instruments used are news text writing ability tests, observation sheets, and documentation. In cycle I, the analysis results show that the average score of students' writing ability is 45.09%, with the lowest score being 6.25% and the highest score being 93.7%. These results indicate that students' understanding of the structure, elements, and language of news still needs to be improved. After improving the learning strategy in cycle II, there was a significant increase in students' writing skills. The average score increased to 83.19%, with the lowest score being 50% and the highest score being 100%. This improvement indicates that the TSTS learning model is effective in helping students better understand the concept of news writing. Furthermore, the more interactive and collaborative learning atmosphere has been shown to motivate students to actively exchange information and develop ideas. Based on the results of this study, it is recommended that Indonesian language teachers utilize the TSTS learning model as an alternative strategy in teaching news writing, so that the learning process becomes more meaningful and student learning outcomes can be optimally improved.

Abstract

This study was motivated by the low level of students' skills in writing response texts. The purpose of this study was to improve the response text writing skills of seventh grade students at UPTD SMP Negeri 7 Gunungsitoli through the application of the inquiry learning model. The research method used was Classroom Action Research (CAR), which was carried out in two cycles. The research subjects were seventh-grade students at UPTD SMP Negeri 7 Gunungsitoli. Research data were collected through questionnaires, observations, and written tests, then analyzed using comparative descriptive techniques by comparing learning outcomes in cycle I and cycle II. The results of the study show an increase in response writing skills. The percentage of student learning completeness increased from 45% in cycle I to 92% in cycle II. The percentage of learning effectiveness also increased from 62% in cycle I to 88% in cycle II. Thus, it can be concluded that the application of the inquiry learning model is able to improve students' response writing skills in a good, creative, and innovative manner.
