Abstract

The mangrove forest growing along the coast of Sungai Pinang functions as a natural barrier against abrasion, a habitat for various marine biota, and a provider of essential nutrients within the coastal ecosystem chain. However, current conditions indicate that the existence of mangroves in this area continues to be threatened by human activities and the suboptimal management and utilization of the area in a sustainable manner. The main problem faced by the partner community is the lack of optimal community empowerment, particularly among fishermen’s wives, in managing and utilizing mangrove plants as an alternative economic resource. Previous conservation and educational activities were temporary and unsustainable due to limited assistance from official institutions and weak access to training, capital, and production materials. This has hindered the development of creative economic activities based on mangrove potential, such as handicrafts, batik production, and processed coastal food products. The implementation method is designed systematically and participatively so that the proposed solutions can be effectively adopted by the target partners through training and outreach. The primary goal of this program is to empower fishermen’s wives in Nagari Sungai Pinang through mangrove-based batik crafts as an economic resource, in order to realize the concept of a Green Economy in coastal areas that emphasizes environmental conservation, improved welfare, and sustainable development. The results of this program include the establishment of a creative group of fishermen’s wives producing mangrove batik, which serves as a medium for promoting coastal environmental conservation and positioning mangrove batik as a maritime tourism icon in Nagari Sungai Pinang.

Abstract

Science Integration (IPAS) under the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum at SD Negeri 13 Lolong, Padang City. The study was motivated by the empirical issue that students often experience difficulties in understanding IPAS concepts due to monotonous teaching methods and limited learning media. A qualitative descriptive approach was employed, with the data collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The research subjects consisted of the class teacher, the school principal, and 28 students. Data were analyzed using Miles and Huberman’s model, including data reduction, presentation, and conclusion drawing, with validity ensured through source and theory triangulation. The results revealed that students’ main problems included the lack of varied learning media, low learning motivation, and limited active participation during lessons. These issues led to passive learning activities and reduced conceptual understanding. The findings indicate that effective IPAS learning requires teachers to apply interactive and contextual learning models, utilize simple digital media, and design project-based activities that relate to students’ daily experiences. The study also emphasizes the importance of school support in providing adequate learning facilities to optimize the Merdeka Curriculum implementation.

Abstract

Science is a combination of Natural Sciences (IPA) and Social Sciences (IPS) which is now a new subject in the Independent Curriculum. Science and Technology began to be taught in elementary schools to develop students' basic abilities in natural sciences and social sciences. In science and science subjects, teachers are still monotonous or too often rely on student books and teacher books. As we know, elementary school students are still children, so if the teacher is always monotonous teaching will be boring. This research aims to determine the effect of the Facilitator and Explain learning model on the science learning outcomes of class IV students at SDN Cibiru 6 KCKB. This type of research is experimental research. The sampling technique uses Purposive Sampling. The instrument in this research is a test of student learning outcomes, while the data analysis technique uses the t-test. Based on the results of the research, the average value of the experimental class was 83.00 and 73.40 in the control class. It can be seen from the results of the data analysis that has been carried out that t count (3.29) > t table (1.68), so the hypothesis is accepted. From the research results it can be concluded that there is an influence of the Facilitator and Explaining model on students' science learning outcomes. For this reason, it is recommended that teachers who teach science subjects apply the Facilitator and Explaining model in the learning process.
