Abstract

This community service program aims to develop and implement a boarding school parenting model based on ulul ilmi values to support university students’ mental health and contribute to quality education. The program was carried out using a Participatory Action Research (PAR) approach involving 150 students living in a university dormitory. The stages of implementation included needs assessment, participatory workshops, guided religious activities such as congregational prayer, dhikr, and Qur’an recitation, as well as reflective evaluation. The results of the program indicate positive changes in students’ mental well-being, reflected in improved emotional stability, discipline, self-confidence, and academic engagement. The integration of spiritual values functioned as an effective coping mechanism in helping students manage academic and social pressures. Overall, the ulul ilmi character-based parenting model, which synergizes spiritual, intellectual, and socio-moral dimensions, contributes to the creation of a supportive academic ecosystem for mentally resilient students. This program has practical implications for the development of a prototype of ulul ilmi character-based boarding school parenting modules.

Abstract

Islamic Religious Education learning plays an important role in shaping students' religious understanding, attitudes, and behavior. However, the PAI learning process in schools still tends to be teacher-centered, so students' understanding of the material has not developed optimally. This study aims to analyze the improvement of students' understanding and to determine students' responses to the application of the Course Review Horay (CRH) learning model with Bingo media in IRE learning. This study uses a quantitative approach with a pre-experimental one-group pretest-posttest design. The research subjects consisted of 41 ninth-grade students at one of the public junior high schools in Bandung Regency. Data collection techniques were carried out through understanding tests and student response questionnaires. Data were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics, including the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test and N-Gain analysis. The results showed an increase in students' understanding after the application of the CRH learning model with Bingo media. The average pretest score of 76.83 increased to 87.80 in the posttest, and all students achieved learning mastery. The Wilcoxon test showed a significant difference between the pretest and posttest scores (Asymp. Sig. 0.000 < 0.05), while the N-Gain results were in the moderate category. In addition to improving understanding, this study also provided a positive response to the implementation of this learning model, although several obstacles were still encountered in the initial stages of implementation and student learning independence. Based on these findings, it can be concluded that the Course Review Horay learning model using Bingo media is effective in improving student understanding and is suitable for use in Islamic Religious Education (PAI) learning with improvements in the management of learning implementation.

Abstract

Abstract Inclusive education requires effective interprofessional collaboration to ensure equitable learning access for students with special needs, particularly within Islamic Religious Education (IRE) in inclusive school contexts. This qualitative case study examines collaboration between Islamic Religious Education teachers and Special Education Support Teachers (SEST) in managing inclusive IRE learning at an Integrated Islamic elementary school (SDIT) in Bandung, focusing on planning, implementation, and evaluation. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews and document analysis and analyzed using an interactive thematic approach. The findings indicate that structured co-teaching collaboration characterized by clear role delineation, shared planning, routine pre-instructional communication, responsive differentiation, dynamic role rotation, and dual-track evaluation supports effective inclusive IRE learning while maintaining curriculum standards. This collaborative approach enhances engagement, social adaptation, and confidence among students with special needs without marginalizing their participation in collective religious learning. However, institutional capacity constraints, selective admission policies, limited continuous professional development, and gradual technology integration remain significant challenges. The study concludes that context-sensitive collaboration models grounded in Islamic values such as empathy, cooperation (ta’awun), and justice are essential for strengthening inclusive IRE learning management and advancing equitable educational practices in Indonesian inclusive elementary schools. Abstract

This study aims to analyze the concept of fitrah as a foundation in Sekolah Fitrah to strengthen Islamic values such as mahabbah or love, mujahadah or perseverance, and sa'adah or happiness. This study is important because of the urgency related to the general issue of declining motivation in the younger generation. This study uses a qualitative approach with interview and observation methods. Data were collected through direct observation of learning activities and interviews with the principal, curriculum team and teachers. The results of the study indicate that Fitrah-based education emphasizes the learning process that is not only seen as a task but also as a useful experience and produces love, perseverance, and happiness. Researchers focus on emphasizing the innate nature or nature of students and developing student motivation in various dimensions such as spiritual, intellectual, physical and others. This study has implications related to appropriate educational strategies to overcome general problems related to demotivation, in this case the researcher focuses on education in non-formal institutions as an alternative solution to the implementation of learning. Researchers realize that this study focuses on a limited research location, therefore recommendations for further research are to expand the context or location of the study and analyze more deeply, especially from the psychological aspect.

Abstract

Moral degradation and ethical erosion in the digital era necessitate a realignment between technical competence and spiritual maturity in education. This study aims to analyze strategies for integrating 21st-century skills (the 4Cs: Critical Thinking, Creativity, Collaboration, and Communication) into Islamic Religious Education (PAI) to foster student character that is adaptive yet deeply religious. Employing a descriptive qualitative design with a case study approach, this research involved three PAI teachers at a State Junior High School in Bandung. Data were collected through in-depth interviews and document analysis of Deep Learning-based teaching modules, then analyzed using thematic and content analysis techniques. The findings reveal the phenomenon of "Competence Islamization" as a primary pedagogical strategy. Specifically, Critical Thinking is internalized as the capacity for Tabayyun (verification) to filter hoaxes; Creativity is realized through the utilization of AI for digital Syiar (propagation); Collaboration functions as a mechanism of Ta'awun (mutual assistance) in Quranic literacy; and Communication is framed by the principle of Qaulan Ma'rufan(honorable speech) to maintain digital etiquette. This study concludes that PAI serves not merely to transfer religious knowledge but acts as an ethical foundation that frames students' global competencies. The implications of this study offer a practical model for educators to bridge the gap between digital literacy and moral integrity through meaningful and reflective learning approaches.

Abstract

Juvenile delinquency has become a common phenomenon in society. Although various efforts have been made in order to overcome this problem, the behavior of young people to show their existence in these deviant ways is never ending. Apart from creating a space for actualization to accommodate their various interests and talents, the role of parents is very important in dealing with juvenile delinquency. In particular, this article examines the role of parents in overcoming juvenile delinquency from an Islamic perspective. The purpose of this study is to find alternative solutions, especially solutions that come from family influences. Meanwhile, the method used in the research uses a research library, namely analyzing and reviewing various previous scientific articles. The results obtained from this study indicate that the role of parents is very important in overcoming juvenile delinquency. The presence of parents by inviting positive dialogue to their teenage children is needed so that they get exemplary figures from the attitudes and behavior of their parents. In this case, parents also need to teach their children with commendable morals (al-Akhlak al-Mahmudah).

Abstract

The proliferation of digital platforms and social media amid rapid technological transformation is profoundly reshaping students’ psychological dynamics, including emotional regulation, learning motivation, self-concept, and social interactions, thereby generating both opportunities and risks for schooling. This qualitative study synthesizes findings from a systematic literature review and case studies from Indonesian secondary schools to examine teachers’ roles in mitigating digital-era psychological risks while simultaneously leveraging digital affordances. The analysis integrates empirical evidence on social media’s dual impact, showing that positive effects include enhanced access to knowledge and the stimulation of fine-motor creativity, whereas risks encompass heightened anxiety, fear of missing out (FOMO), addictive usage patterns, and reduced gross motor activity. Across the reviewed studies and cases, teachers emerge as pivotal facilitators who apply educational psychology principles, such as cooperative learning, emotion regulation training, and constructive feedback to strengthen students’ resilience, with collaborative interventions involving counselor–parent partnerships contributing to the reduction of emotional distress. Strengthening digital literacy, regulating screen time, and designing balanced learning environments are identified as essential conditions for sustaining students’ psychological well-being. The study concludes that targeted teacher training in digital emotional intelligence and culturally adaptive pedagogical strategies, particularly within Islamic education contexts, is crucial for supporting holistic student development in increasingly hyper-connected educational ecosystems.
