Abstract

Islamic religious education in the family plays a crucial role in shaping character and supporting children's development, particularly during the elementary school years. This study aims to explore and analyze the role of Islamic religious education in families in supporting the achievement of developmental tasks among elementary school-aged children. The research employs a qualitative method with an exploratory descriptive approach, involving in-depth interviews and participatory observations with six families in Sukajadi District, Bandung, with children aged 6 to 12 years who implement religious education at home. The findings reveal that Islamic religious education in the family significantly contributes to shaping children into individuals who are not only academically intelligent but also morally sound and well-prepared to face life's challenges. Children who receive structured religious education demonstrate strong faith, good character, and high social awareness. This study highlights the importance of designing religious education tailored to children's developmental needs, including daily practice-based learning, moral value instruction, and habitual worship activities. These findings offer practical guidance for parents and educators in integrating Islamic religious education to support children's holistic growth and development. The study also recommends further exploration of the implementation of religious education in broader cultural contexts.

Abstract

This study addresses the need for a character-based inclusive education model that accommodates students with disabilities in higher education, particularly within the Indonesian context. The objective is to design a values-oriented educational framework that integrates moral and religious principles into inclusive teaching practices. Employing a Research and Development (R&D) approach, the study involved general course students at an Indonesian university, with data gathered through interviews, observations, and a review of relevant literature. The findings reveal a hierarchical structure of character values comprising basic values (tolerance, sympathy, empathy), instrumental values (self-awareness and cooperation), and ultimate values centered on sincere service (lillahi Ta’ala). Additionally, the implementation of character education in Islamic and Civic Education courses must be responsive to the unique challenges faced by students with disabilities, requiring curriculum adjustments in terms of learning media, instructional materials, and assessment strategies. The study contributes to the field by emphasizing ta’awun (mutual assistance) as a core religious value that underpins inclusive relationships among faculty, students with disabilities, their peers, and families, thereby promoting a more compassionate and supportive academic environment.

Abstract

Education is the process of developing the potential God gives to each child as a subject. The reality, the potential God has not been able to develop optimally in order to strengthen the spiritual aspect of children. There needs to be an effective approach to instill spiritual intelligence in children. Child education can be considered effective if educators have good competence and are capable of developing different approaches in the learning process. Moreover, early childhood need a special approach in embedding Islamic values in accordance with the growth and development. In this study, researchers sought to formulate a “NURANI” as an accepative solution in instilling the spiritual intelligence of early childhood. The study uses a qualitative approach through analytical methods. Based on the findings and analysis in the study, the "NURANI" approach is seen as a child-friendly approach in order to improve spiritual intelligence. The steps of implementing the approach “NURANI” is to give advice on a lot, give a spirit in a creative way, give reward and punishment both materially, verbally and non-verbal, provide learning in a dialogue, provide a ruhani experience by the imposition of Islamic values and give many examples both in speech and in action. The purpose of the implementation of this approach is to instill spiritual intelligence in the child in the form of consciousness in conducting Islamic law, discipline in practicing Islamic values and feel happy to do ritual worship in daily life

Abstract

Although education has long been recognized as a science, the advent of the digital era has introduced new challenges regarding its relevance and effectiveness in preparing learners to meet the ever-changing demands of the workforce. Many educational institutions have not yet fully integrated digital technology optimally into the learning process, resulting in a gap between educational theory and its application in a digital context. This study aims to explore the extent to which education as a science can adapt to the developments of the digital era and how the education system can respond to the growing need for digital skills among learners. This research utilizes data sources based on literature from previous relevant studies. The article employs a qualitative approach with a literature review method to analyze the research themes. The process begins with the identification of relevant topics, followed by the collection of various literature sources. The researcher then analyzes the data to identify significant patterns and themes. The analysis results are synthesized by integrating findings from various sources, yielding a comprehensive understanding. This study demonstrates that education as a science has significant potential to adapt to the digital era. Therefore, the current education system needs to innovate and transform to meet the digital skill requirements of learners. This research implies the necessity for educational responsiveness, emphasizing the need for collaboration between curriculum developers and education practitioners to ensure that education not only keeps pace with technological advancements but also provides relevant and adaptive skills.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the perspectives of Muslimah students of the Faculty of Economics and Business Education (FPEB), Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia (UPI) batch 2023 towards the challenges of gender equality in a patriarchal culture. Using a quantitative descriptive method, data were collected through questionnaires distributed to respondents. The results showed that patriarchal culture still strongly influences the role and position of women in society, especially in social and professional aspects. As many as 64% of respondents agreed with the statement that women's roles are still limited by social norms, feeling that they are considered less competent than men. The study also found that women are often associated with weakness or dependence on men. These findings suggest the need for greater efforts to address gender stereotypes and encourage more inclusive equality. This research is expected to make theoretical and practical contributions in enriching the study of gender equality as well as recommendations for educational institutions to create an environment that supports women's empowerment.

Abstract

This article examines the implementation of Ulul Ilmi character-based parenting in female dormitories as a strategy to enhance students’ mental health and educational attainment. The Ulul Ilmi concept, which integrates scientific knowledge with Islamic values, is designed to foster positive character development among students, thereby supporting both their psychological well-being and academic success. Employing a qualitative case study approach in the Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia (UPI) dormitory, data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation analysis. The findings reveal that Ulul Ilmi character-based parenting creates a supportive environment that strengthens students’ emotional resilience, mental health, and learning motivation, ultimately improving academic achievement. Furthermore, the study highlights the role of spiritual and social reinforcement in shaping constructive peer interactions and promoting holistic self-development. This study contributes to the growing discourse on character education and mental health in higher education by offering an integrative model of parenting in dormitory settings. It demonstrates that embedding Ulul Ilmi values into parenting practices not only enhances students’ well-being but also provides a framework for fostering a healthier, value-driven academic environment. These insights can inform dormitory management policies and character-based education programs in both national and international contexts.

Abstract

This study investigates the implementation of the Al-Islah wa Tagyīr method in Islamic Religious Education (PAI) as a means to promote students’ mental health. The Al-Islah wa Tagyīr method, which emphasizes self-improvement and transformation through spiritual and moral approaches, is employed to enhance students’ psychological well-being. A qualitative approach was adopted using a case study method in universities that have applied this method in PAI learning. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and document analysis. The findings reveal that the application of the Al-Islah wa Tagyīr method strengthens students’ religious and psychological dimensions, positively influences emotional regulation, enhances self-confidence, and fosters healthier social interactions. Consequently, the method has been shown to be effective in supporting the attainment of improved mental health among students. This research contributes to the enrichment of Islamic Religious Education by integrating mental health perspectives into pedagogical practices. Specifically, it offers a holistic model of PAI learning that not only develops religious knowledge and moral character but also supports psychological resilience and well-being. The study provides theoretical insights into the synergy between spirituality and mental health and offers practical implications for educators, policymakers, and curriculum developers in creating more comprehensive educational strategies that address both cognitive and emotional aspects of student development.
