Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan mengembangkan bahan ajar digital berbasis G‑SMART (Google Sites Media for Active and Reflective Teaching) pada mata kuliah Fisika Dasar 1 serta menguji kelayakan dan efektivitasnya dalam meningkatkan penguasaan konsep mahasiswa. Penelitian menggunakan metode Research and Development (R&D) dengan model ADDIE yang mencakup tahap analisis, desain, pengembangan, implementasi, dan evaluasi. Produk divalidasi oleh tiga ahli media, tiga ahli materi, dan tiga ahli bahasa menggunakan lembar penilaian berskala Likert, kemudian skor dikonversi menjadi persentase untuk menentukan kategori kevalidan. Uji coba dilakukan pada 28 mahasiswa calon guru IPA yang mengontrak Fisika Dasar 1 di salah satu universitas di Kota Ternate, dengan penguasaan konsep diukur melalui tes pre‑test dan post‑test. Data peningkatan penguasaan konsep dianalisis menggunakan normalized gain <g>, yang menunjukkan nilai <g> = 0,51 (kategori sedang), serta didukung analisis deskriptif terhadap hasil belajar. Hasil validasi ahli menunjukkan rata-rata kevalidan 85,7% dengan kategori sangat valid, sementara respons mahasiswa terhadap bahan ajar mencapai 87% dengan kategori sangat baik. Bahan ajar digital berbasis G‑SMART dinyatakan layak dan potensial sebagai komplemen sumber belajar Fisika Dasar 1 yang fleksibel dan mudah untuk diakses.

Abstract

Optical communication in digitalisation is a significant catalyst in supporting high-speed and large capacity data transmission. However, optical communication applications face substantial challenges, such as energy loss, dispersion effects, and signal stability over long transmission distances. One material that has the potential to overcome these problems is ruby due to its nonlinear characteristics. This research work numerically investigates soliton propagation in ruby material analysis as a Nonlinear Schrödinger Equation numerical modelling and three-dimensional visualisation with Cubic B-Spline, modified Korteweg-de Vries-Zakharov-Kuznetsov, and Boussinesq methods to understand ruby material characteristics more deeply. The simulations show that the soliton waveform remains stable during propagation, with its amplitude confined within approximately -1.05 to 0.35, indicating robust shape preservation under anisotropy and temperature variations. like most previous studies that are limited to one or two dimensional modelling or to dispersive fibre media, this study implement a full 3D NLSE framework tailored to the physical properties of ruby. The results show that both numerical modelling and three-dimensional visualisation indicate that ruby material can maintain the soliton waveform during propagation. This finding suggests that ruby has the potential to be applied in optical communication systems with high stability to support long-distance data transmission.

Abstract

This study reviewed 41 articles published between 2016 and 2025 that addressed the implementation of Inquiry-Based Learning (IBL) in science education. While several previous studies have discussed inquiry learning models and their relevance to various science disciplines, few have systematically examined the variation of IBL syntax across models and how its implementation aligns with educational contexts and developmental levels. The purpose of this study is to map and analyze the use of IBL syntax across models, learning environments, educational levels, and technology integration, thereby providing a clearer framework for teachers and curriculum developers. This study employed a systematic literature review method. Article characteristics were described based on year of publication, publication type, research method, country of origin, educational level, and scientific content. The analysis revealed that IBL syntax varies depending on context, learning model, educational level, and technology use. In elementary school settings, inquiry activities generally focus on initial engagement, observation, and simple exploration. At the secondary school level, IBL emphasizes more complex investigative skills, data analysis, and interpretation. In secondary and higher education, syntax often encompasses elaboration, evaluation, reflection, collaboration, and technology-supported activities such as virtual laboratories, simulations, or project-based investigations. Based on these findings, a practical typology of IBL syntax is proposed that organizes instructional steps by frequency of use, learning objectives, and alignment with students' developmental stages. This typology can serve as a methodological framework to guide teachers and curriculum developers in adapting IBL models to classroom contexts and student characteristics. This study provides theoretical insights and practical guidance for designing structured and context-sensitive inquiry activities. Future research is recommended to explore underutilized syntax, validate the proposed typology in classroom settings, and examine strategies to support teacher readiness and resource availability, thereby encouraging a more systematic and context-appropriate implementation of inquiry-based learning in science education. Keywords: systematic literature review, science education, learning syntax, and inquiry-based learning.

Abstract

Higher education is expected to equip students with Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS); however, assessment practices in physics laboratory learning still often emphasize procedural performance. This study aims to analyze assessment needs and to develop and conduct content validation of a HOTS-oriented performance assessment for physics laboratory learning in higher education to support Sustainable Development Goal 4 (Quality Education). This study employed a research and development (R&D) approach using the ADDIE model, limited to the Analyze, Design, and Develop stages. The participants were 49 undergraduate physics students selected using purposive sampling and laboratory assistants involved in practicum activities. Data were collected through essay tests, practicum module analysis, interviews, and observations, and analyzed using descriptive quantitative and qualitative methods. Content validity was evaluated through expert judgment using Aiken’s V index. The results showed that existing assessments had not optimally measured HOTS, particularly evaluating (C5) and creating (C6). Therefore, a HOTS-oriented performance assessment integrating C4, C5, and C6 was developed, consisting of performance tasks, scoring rubrics, observation sheets, and self- and peer-assessment instruments. The content validation results indicated high validity with an Aiken’s V value of 0.89. These findings provide a validated conceptual foundation for further implementation and evaluation to support SDG 4 in higher education.
