Abstract

Indonesian Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology introduced the Merdeka Curriculum to overcome post-pandemics COVID-19 challenges with a transformative education policy. However, the effectiveness of education policy requires the contribution of public opinion. Exploring sentiment public opinions, and structural dimensions of interaction or network behavior are needed. This paper proposed sentiment and social network analysis of X social media on the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum in Indonesia. The methodology consists of preprocessing, vectorizer with TF-IDF, sentiment and social network analysis. Sentiment classification was performed using four machine learning models, Support Vector Machine (SVM), Random Forest, XGBoost, and LightGBM. Based on the experimental results, Random Forest achieved the best performance with 70% accuracy. The analysis revealed that public sentiment was dominated by neutral and negative responses, indicating persistent criticism and limited support throughout the curriculum’s rollout. Social network analysis identified central accounts in the discourse, including @nadiemmakarim and @Kemdikbud_RI, while other accounts, for example @adekumala, served as key bridges within the network despite receiving fewer mentions. This paper integrates a data-driven approach to understanding public opinion and shows influence dynamics on social media providing valuable insights for policy communication and refinement in the digital era.

Abstract

This study seeks to identify and analyze the ethical principles of social media from the perspective of hadith. Using a thematic approach (maudhu'i) to hadiths related to communication, oral ethics, enjoining good and forbidding evil, and conveying information, the methodology used is a qualitative study based on library research. The main conclusions indicate that the hadiths of the Prophet encompass the following principles: honesty, speaking with caution, refraining from spreading slander, and the importance of verification (tabayyun). These principles can serve as a guide for creating a moral, responsible, and moderate digital culture in the lives of contemporary Muslims. These principles are also highly relevant as a foundation for social media ethics. The revolution in human communication has occurred due to the development of information technology, particularly through social media. In addition to making information more easily and quickly accessible, social media has transformed into a platform for the spread of hate speech, defamation, fake news, and other immoral practices that contradict Islamic principles. In this regard, the moral and ethical teachings contained in Islamic teachings, derived from the hadith of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), are relevant for guiding individuals toward dignified and healthy online interactions. They also reflect the role of social media in developing Islamic digital literacy.

Abstract

The study of the sources of Islamic law is a crucial aspect in understanding the normative construction and the dynamics of its application amid complex social changes. This article aims to comprehensively elaborate on the four classical primary sources of Islamic law—namely the Qur’an, Sunnah, Ijma‘ (consensus), and Qiyas (analogical reasoning)—and to examine their epistemological relevance in contemporary contexts. The research employs a qualitative method with a library-based approach, focusing on critical analysis of both classical and modern literature concerning the epistemology of Islamic law. The findings indicate that the epistemological structure of Islamic law is dynamic, open to the process of ijtihad (independent reasoning), and capable of adapting to evolving social realities. In contemporary settings, challenges such as globalization, legal pluralism, and scientific advancement demand a reinterpretation of Islamic legal sources through interdisciplinary approaches. The study also identifies a methodological gap in Islamic legal studies, particularly in integrating maqāṣid al-sharī‘ah (objectives of Islamic law) with modern social sciences. Therefore, a new paradigm is needed to bridge the normative Islamic tradition with the needs of modern society, aiming to produce Islamic legal formulations that are more responsive, contextual, and oriented toward public welfare. This study is expected to enrich the discourse on the epistemology of Islamic law and encourage the development of more inclusive and transformative methodologies.

Abstract

This research is based on the low level of students' understanding of the concept of Pancasila education, as indicated by the lack of active participation and in-depth comprehension of the concepts of Pancasila education. The aim of this study is to describe the implementation of the Think Pair Share learning model in improving the understanding of Pancasila education concepts among fourth-grade students at SD Negeri 233 Palembang. The research method used is qualitative descriptive, with a phenomenological approach in which the researcher explores the meaning of individual or group experiences through observation, documentation, and in-depth interviews, aiming to understand and explore the subjective meaning of individuals' experiences regarding a phenomenon. The research subjects were 26 students of class IV.A. The instruments used included observation sheets, concept understanding tests, and documentation. The results of the study showed that the implementation of the Think Pair Share learning model can improve students' conceptual understanding, where most students have achieved the learning objectives. In addition, the Think Pair Share model is also able to enhance students' participation and collaborative learning activities. Thus, the Think Pair Share learning model is effective to be implemented in Pancasila education learning to improve conceptual understanding among elementary school students.

Abstract

This study examines the integration of educational historical methodology in reconstructing Islamic education narratives in a more objective and contextually grounded manner. While Islamic educational historiography has often been shaped by normative and descriptive approaches, this research argues that a systematic historical-critical framework is necessary to ensure analytical rigor and epistemological transparency. Employing qualitative library research, the study applies classical stages of historical inquiry heuristics, source criticism, interpretation, and historiographical synthesis combined with hermeneutical and discourse-oriented analysis. The findings reveal that Islamic education constitutes a dynamic historical construction shaped by the interaction of text, authority, institutions, and socio-political transformation. Core elements such as ‘ilm, ulama authority, transmission networks, and the institutionalization of madrasah and pesantren developed through processes of negotiation and adaptation rather than linear progression. By critically verifying sources and situating concepts within their historical horizons, the integrated methodology minimizes ideological bias and avoids normative reductionism. The originality of this study lies in its systematic synthesis of historical criticism, hermeneutics, and discourse analysis into a unified methodological framework for Islamic educational historiography. The research contributes theoretically by strengthening methodological discourse in Islamic education studies and practically by providing a reflective foundation for context-sensitive educational reform in contemporary Muslim societies.
