Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of guidance and counseling in the character development of elementary school students based on a literature review. A qualitative approach was employed, specifically utilizing a library research method. The data sources consisted of seven scholarly articles published between 2015 and 2019 that were relevant to the topics of guidance and counseling and elementary student character development. The analysis involved identifying, examining, comparing, and synthesizing findings from previous research. The results indicate that guidance and counseling play a crucial role in helping students recognize their potential, boost self-confidence, develop communication skills, build social relationships, and adapt to both the school environment and the community. Classroom teachers also play a strategic role in delivering guidance and counseling services, particularly in schools that lack dedicated guidance and counseling teachers. The effectiveness of these services is influenced by teacher competence, effective communication, school support, and collaboration with parents. Thus, guidance and counseling constitute an integral part of elementary education and must be implemented systematically, sustainably, and in alignment with students' developmental needs.

Abstract

The internalization of moral education values in Islamic Religious Education (PAI) learning faces various challenges in the digital era, particularly the negative influence of social media, low awareness of religious observance, limited parental supervision, and the suboptimal development of students’ character through religious activities at school. This study aimed to analyze the process of internalizing moral education values in PAI learning at SDN 17 Manggis Ganting and to identify its supporting and inhibiting factors. The study employed a qualitative approach with a descriptive design. The informants consisted of PAI teachers and students selected purposively. Data were collected through observation, semi-structured interviews, and documentation and were then analyzed through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. Data validity was established using source triangulation. The findings showed that the internalization of moral education values was implemented through three stages: value transformation, value transaction, and value transinternalization. The values instilled encompassed moral conduct toward Allah, oneself, and others. This process was supported by teachers’ exemplary conduct, religious programs, cooperation between the school and parents, and the use of digital media in learning. Meanwhile, the negative influence of social media, insufficient parental supervision, students’ low self-awareness, and their social environment constituted inhibiting factors. This study concludes that the internalization of moral education values has been implemented progressively and integrated into PAI learning, but its sustainability requires synergy among schools, families, and communities. These findings provide practical implications for strengthening PAI learning strategies that are adaptive to digital developments and oriented toward students’ character development.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the low ability to recognize hijaiyyah letters in deaf students of grade III at SLB YPAC Makassar which is caused by the lack of use of interactive and interesting learning media for students. This study aims to determine the ability to recognize hijaiyyah letters in deaf students of grade III at SLB YPAC Makassar before using the Smart Apps Creator application, determine the ability to recognize hijaiyyah letters after using the Smart Apps Creator application, and determine the improvement in the ability to recognize hijaiyyah letters through the use of the Smart Apps Creator application. This study used a quantitative approach with descriptive research type. Data collection techniques were carried out through tests and observations. The research subject consisted of one deaf student of grade III at SLB YPAC Makassar with the initials M.A. The data were analyzed using descriptive quantitative analysis to describe the ability to recognize hijaiyyah letters before and after using the Smart Apps Creator application. The results showed that the deaf student's ability to recognize hijaiyyah letters improved after using the Smart Apps Creator application. This was indicated by the pretest score of 16.12 categorized as poor, which increased to 80 in the posttest categorized as good. Thus, the use of the Smart Apps Creator application can improve the ability to recognize hijaiyyah letters in third-grade deaf students at SLB YPAC Makassar.

Abstract

The problem in this study is the low ability to make titi noodles in deaf students of grade XI at SLB YPAC Makassar, which is caused by the less than optimal use of learning methods that are appropriate to the characteristics of the students. The purpose of this study is to: (1) determine the ability to make titi noodles in deaf students of grade XI at SLB YPAC Makassar before the implementation of direct learning methods, (2) determine the ability to make titi noodles after the implementation of direct learning methods, and (3) determine the increase in the ability to make titi noodles through the implementation of direct learning methods at SLB YPAC Makassar. This study uses a quantitative approach with a descriptive research type. The data collection technique is carried out through observation tests. The data obtained are analyzed descriptively quantitatively to describe the students' abilities before and after the implementation of direct learning methods in the skill of making titi noodles. The results of the study show that the ability to make titi noodles in deaf students of grade XI at SLB YPAC Makassar has increased after the implementation of direct learning methods. Students' abilities before treatment are still relatively low, but after the implementation of direct learning methods show a significant increase. Thus, it can be concluded that the direct learning method is effective in improving the ability to make Titi noodles in eleventh-grade deaf students at the YPAC Special Needs School in Makassar.

Abstract

Independent eating is a crucial self-care skill for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD); however, many still rely on assistance from teachers or caregivers to complete the steps involved in eating. This study aimed to analyze the effectiveness of the visual schedule technique in enhancing the eating independence of a child with autism at SLB Negeri 1 Takalar. A quantitative approach was employed using a Single-Subject Research (SSR) design (A-B-A), comprising baseline (A1), intervention (B), and baseline (A2) phases. Data were collected through observation and performance testing of a second-grade student with autism and subsequently analyzed using visual descriptive analysis (within-condition and between-condition). The results demonstrated that the implementation of the visual schedule progressively improved eating independence across all observed indicators. This improvement was evidenced by a positive trend, an increase in skill level, and a 0% overlap percentage, indicating a strong intervention effect. The acquired skills were maintained during the second baseline phase, despite a slight decline following the cessation of the intervention. Thus, the visual schedule technique is effective in fostering eating independence in children with autism and serves as a viable, structured self-care instructional strategy to support the development of daily living skills in a school setting.

Abstract

The Wafa Fest program at SDIT Insan Madani Palopo has not yet undergone a systematic evaluation to determine its alignment with the goals and targets of identifying and developing students with religious aptitude. This study aims to evaluate the Wafa Fest program using the Goal-Oriented Evaluation Model (GOEM), focusing on goal alignment, target fulfillment, and program outcomes. An evaluative research design employing a mixed-methods approach was utilized. The study subjects included the school principal, teachers/organizing committee members, and students. Data were collected through questionnaires, interviews, and documentation. Quantitative data were analyzed using descriptive statistics (percentages), while qualitative data underwent data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. Assessment categories were determined based on percentage intervals established in the evaluation instrument, with the "excellent" category assigned to the highest percentage range. The results indicate that all GOEM components fell into the "excellent" category, with percentage ranges of 87.35%–100%. Specifically, goal alignment ranged from 89.58%–100%, target fulfillment from 87.94%–100%, and program outcomes from 87.35%–95%. Overall, the findings demonstrate that the Wafa Fest program has met its established goals and targets, yielding results that support the identification and development of students' potential in the religious domain. Abstract

This study was motivated by the limited use of engaging instructional media for the topic of the "Stories of the Ulul Azmi Prophets" in the fifth-grade class at SDN 16 Sampoddo, Palopo City, resulting in instruction that remained largely conventional. The study aimed to develop a Powtoon-based animated film as an instructional medium and to assess its validity and practicality for Islamic Religious Education. A Research and Development (R&D) approach was employed using the ADDIE model, comprising the stages of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The research subjects were fifth-grade students at SDN 16 Sampoddo, Palopo City. Data were collected through observations, interviews, questionnaires, and validation sheets completed by subject matter and media experts. Validation results indicated that the medium achieved a score of 85% from the subject matter expert and 78.84% from the media expert, both falling into the "highly valid" category. A practicality test conducted by the teacher yielded a score of 84%, placing it in the "highly practical" category. Student feedback also indicated that the medium was easy to use, engaging, and boosted enthusiasm during the lesson. Consequently, the Powtoon-based animated film is deemed valid and practical as a supporting medium for teaching the "Stories of the Ulul Azmi Prophets" in fifth-grade Islamic Religious Education.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the cognitive improvement of 5th grade students after implementing the quantum teaching model. The research design used is the Classroom Action Research (CAR) type. The subjects in this study were 29 of 5th grade students consisting of 12 female students and 17 male students. Data collection was carried out by observation, field notes and tests. The results of the study in cycle I, the average science score was 47.24, the social studies score was 48.45. In cycle II, the science score was 59.48, the social studies score was 65.34. In cycle III, the science score was 83.45 while the social studies score was 83.10. It can be concluded that the application of the quantum teaching model can improve the cognitive of 5th grade students.
