Abstract

Artikel ini bertujuan untuk menjelaskan penerapan model pembelajaran Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition (CIRC) dalam meningkatkan kemampuan membaca siswa kelas empat di sekolah dasar. Kemampuan membaca secara literal adalah keterampilan krusial dalam memahami informasi yang terdapat dalam berbagai teks. Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) dilakukan pada siswa kelas empat di sebuah sekolah dasar negeri, yang dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus. Data dikumpulkan melalui tes membaca, observasi, dan dokumentasi untuk memperoleh hasil yang komprehensif. Dengan adanya peningkatan rata-rata skor tes dari tahap sebelum tindakan hingga akhir siklus, model CIRC terbukti menjadi salah satu metode yang efektif untuk pengajaran membaca di tingkat sekolah dasar. Penelitian ini memanfaatkan model McTaggart, yang terdiri dari empat tahap utama: perencanaan, pelaksanaan tindakan, observasi, dan refleksi.

Abstract

Pemahaman terhadap makna kiasan masih menjadi tantangan bagi siswa sekolah dasar, terutama siswa kelas V yang berada pada tahap perkembangan operasional konkret. Penelitian ini berfokus pada analisis Tingkat pemahaman siswa terkait makna kiasan dari aspek kognitif dan psikomotorik. Pendekatan yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kualitatif dengan subjek lima siswa kelas V yang dipilih secara purposive dari lingkungan tempat tinggal peneliti. Instrumen penelitian mencakup tes kognitif berupa soal pilihan ganda dan esai pendek, serta tugas psikomotorik berupa analisis teks yang mengandung makna kiasan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sebagian besar siswa berada pada kategori Cukup dan Baik dalam memahami makna kiasan. Siswa lebih mampu mengenali makna kiasan dibandingkan menjelaskannya secara kontekstual atau menggunakannya dalam kalimat. Kesulitan utama ditemukan pada kemampuan menafsirkan frasa kias secara simbolis dan mengaplikasikannya dalam penggunaan bahasa sehari-hari. Temuan ini mengindikasikan bahwa kemampuan berpikir simbolik pada siswa masih berkembang dan memerlukan dukungan strategi pembelajaran yang sesuai. Maka dari itu, penelitian ini merekomendasikan penggunaan pendekatan kontekstual dan multisensori dalam pembelajaran bahasa untuk meningkatkan pemahaman siswa terhadap makna kiasan secara bermakna dan aplikatif.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the difficulties faced by phase B learners in primary schools in the skill of writing description essays. The research method used is qualitative with a case study approach, which involves observation and in-depth interviews with 20 learners. The results of the analysis showed that the difficulties in writing description essays resulted from several factors, including a lack of understanding of text structure, a lack of vocabulary, and a lack of motivation to learn. In addition, environmental factors such as support from parents and teachers also affect students' writing ability. This research is expected to provide insights for teachers and related parties in improving description essay writing skills so that students can develop optimally.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan bentuk dan hasil pelaksanaan penilaian pembelajaran teks persuasi pada siswa kelas V sekolah dasar dalam konteks pembelajaran berbasis rumah. Menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif selama dua bulan di SDN 26 Payakumbuh, penelitian ini melibatkan lima siswa dengan teknik pengumpulan data berupa observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa siswa memiliki sikap positif terutama pada aspek gotong royong dan integritas, dengan skor rata-rata 18–19. Pemahaman struktur dan kaidah kebahasaan teks persuasi dinilai cukup baik melalui soal pilihan ganda, sedangkan dalam keterampilan menulis dan lisan masih ditemukan variasi kemampuan yang memerlukan bimbingan lebih lanjut. Penelitian ini juga menemukan kendala utama berupa variasi kemampuan siswa dan keterbatasan media pembelajaran, yang dapat diatasi melalui pendekatan personal dan adaptif dari guru serta keterlibatan aktif orang tua. Penelitian ini memberikan kontribusi pada pengembangan metode penilaian berbasis rumah yang relevan dan efektif untuk meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran Bahasa Indonesia di sekolah dasar

Abstract

Keterampilan menulis merupakan bagian penting dari penguasaan bahasa yang mendukung kemampuan berpikir kritis, kreatif, dan sistematis siswa sekolah dasar. Namun, banyak siswa masih mengalami kesulitan dalam menulis teks eksplanasi yang sesuai dengan kaidah dan struktur yang benar. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi kemampuan menulis teks eksplanasi siswa kelas V SDN 32 Sungai Jariang. Penelitian menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data berupa tes menjawab soal dan penugasan menulis teks eksplanasi, yang kemudian dianalisis menggunakan rubrik penilaian mencakup aspek judul, struktur, isi, kebahasaan, dan mekanik penulisan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kelima siswa yang menjadi subjek penelitian memperoleh skor di bawah Kriteria Ketuntasan Minimal (KKM), dengan kesalahan pada struktur teks, penggunaan ejaan, dan keterpaduan informasi. Temuan ini menunjukkan perlunya bimbingan intensif dan strategi pembelajaran yang lebih adaptif serta kolaboratif antara guru, siswa, dan orang tua untuk meningkatkan keterampilan menulis teks eksplanasi siswa. Penelitian ini memberikan kontribusi pada pengembangan metode pembelajaran Bahasa Indonesia yang lebih relevan dan kontekstual bagi siswa.

Abstract

Moral-based character education plays a vital role in developing individuals with integrity, responsibility, and empathy, particularly in the context of Society 5.0, where technological advancement must be balanced with strong moral values. This study aims to examine the global effectiveness of moral and character education interventions in enhancing students’ moral understanding and character development. A systematic literature review and meta-analysis were conducted following PRISMA guidelines, synthesizing findings from experimental and quasi-experimental studies published between 2018 and 2025, sourced from major international and national databases. Using a random-effects meta-analytic approach, the results indicate a statistically significant positive effect of moral and character education interventions, despite variations across study contexts. These findings demonstrate that moral and character education contribute meaningfully to the formation of moral identity and ethical awareness. In practice, this study underscores the importance of integrating moral values into curricula and learning practices to strengthen integrity, empathy, and responsibility as essential competencies in 21st-century education. This research provides a comprehensive global synthesis that highlights the original contribution of meta-analytic evidence to the field of moral and character education. Abstract

This study aims to identify the types of misconceptions experienced by fourth-grade elementary school students regarding quadrilaterals through a literature review approach. This is a qualitative descriptive study using a literature review approach (library research). The data analysis technique employed is the Miles and Huberman interactive analysis model, which includes the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The data sources consist of articles from national scientific journals obtained through searches of the electronic databases Google Scholar, ResearchGate, and SINTA. The results of the study indicate three main types of misconceptions consistently found among students, namely misconceptions regarding the position of quadrilaterals (classificational misconceptions), misconceptions regarding the terminology of quadrilaterals (theoretical misconceptions), and misconceptions regarding the relationships between quadrilateral shapes (correlational misconceptions). These three types of misconceptions stem from a lack of variety in the presentation of material, learning habits that rely on rote memorization, and students’ weak prior knowledge. Therefore, appropriate and comprehensive intervention is needed through a cognitive conflict approach, the use of diverse learning media, and the use of concept maps to ensure that misconceptions do not become obstacles to the development of students’ mathematical understanding in subsequent educational levels.

Abstract

Procedural text writing skills among elementary school students remain relatively low, particularly in constructing effective sentences and organizing sequential steps, which leads to suboptimal learning outcomes. This condition is reflected in the number of students who have not achieved the minimum mastery criteria. The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of picture series media on students’ procedural text writing skills at the fourth-grade level of SDN 33 Sawahan Padang. The study employed a quantitative approach using a quasi-experimental design with a non-equivalent control group in a post-test only format. The sample was selected through purposive sampling, consisting of class IV A as the experimental group (23 students) and class IV C as the control group (22 students). Data were collected through writing tests and observation, and analyzed using the Mann-Whitney nonparametric test after normality and homogeneity assumptions were not met. The results revealed a significant difference between the two groups with a significance value of 0.049 < 0.05. The experimental class obtained a higher mean score (92) compared to the control class (81), and a higher mean rank (26.63 vs. 19.20). These findings indicate that picture series media has a positive and significant effect on improving procedural text writing skills, particularly in organizing steps, completing text structure, and using appropriate language.

Abstract

This study is motivated by the low learning outcomes of students in Pancasila Education, particularly in the Bhinneka Tunggal Ika element. This problem is caused by teacher-centered learning, limited student participation, and the lack of innovative learning models. This study aims to describe the improvement of students' learning outcomes through the implementation of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model in Grade IV of SD Negeri 05 Air Tawar Barat, Padang City. This research is a Classroom Action Research (CAR) using qualitative and quantitative approaches. It was conducted in two cycles consisting of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. Data were collected through observation, tests, and non-test techniques. The subjects were the classroom teacher, the researcher, and 23 fourth-grade students. The results showed that the teaching module improved from 89.55% (Good) in cycle I to 95.8% (Very Good) in cycle II. The teacher’s and students’ implementation aspects increased from 91% to 96.4% (Very Good). Students’ learning outcomes also improved from an average score of 81.32 (Good) in cycle I to 93.37 (Very Good) in cycle II. It can be concluded that the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model effectively improves students' learning outcomes in Pancasila Education, especially in the Bhinneka Tunggal Ika element.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to investigate how inquiry-based outdoor learning can enhance primary school students' science process abilities and learning outcomes. The limited development of students' scientific skills and subpar learning outcomes, which are frequently linked to teacher-centered instructional approaches and the underutilization of the surrounding environment as a contextual learning resource, provide the backdrop for this study. This study used a literature review strategy and a qualitative methodology. Selected scientific journal articles, books, and pertinent earlier research on inquiry-based learning and outdoor learning were the sources of the data. While data analysis employed descriptive qualitative methodologies by organizing, comparing, and synthesizing findings from multiple sources, data collecting was accomplished through a systematic assessment of the literature.Based on the reviewed literature, the results show that inquiry-based outdoor learning helps students build their science process abilities, especially when it comes to observing, classifying, questioning, and conveying discoveries. Additionally, this method is linked to superior learning outcomes, as demonstrated by students' increased academic success and conceptual comprehension. Additionally, outdoor learning activities offer contextualized and meaningful learning opportunities that boost student participation and engagement. Inquiry-based outdoor learning is therefore seen as a pertinent strategy to promote efficient, contextual, and student-centered scientific instruction in primary school.
