Abstract

This study aims to determine whether self-efficacy and employee engagement affect the performance of bank frontliners and is mediated by digital literacy. The research was conducted at ten national private bank branch offices in Bandung using a questionnaire distributed to 119 frontliners who handle digital transactions. The research results were processed using SPSS software using the path analysis method. The results showed that self-efficacy and performance had a positive and significant effect on digital literacy, while engagement had no significant effect on digital literacy. The output from the calculation results can be concluded that the efficacy significance value of 0.000 is smaller than 0.05, which can be concluded that there is an effect of self-efficacy (X1) on performance (Y). The efficacy significance value of 0.000 is smaller than 0.05, which can be concluded that there is an effect of engagement (X2) on performance (Y). The significance value of the self-efficacy variable (X1) is 0,000, the engagement variable (X2) is 0.133 and the performance variable (Y) is 0,000, so it can be concluded that only self-efficacy and performance have an effect on digital literacy (Z) while engagement (X2) has a value 0.133 which is greater than 0.05, so it can be concluded that engagement has no significant effect on digital literacy

Abstract

Introduction/Main Objectives: The aim of this study is to test the effect of directive leadership and continuance commitment on innovative work behavior while also explaining the mediating role of continuance commitment and the effect of directive leadership on innovative work behavior. Background Problems: Managing innovative employee behavior is an integral component of sustainable organizational development. Innovative work behavior (IWB) is very important for improving organizational performance. Many studies have identified the antecedent factors of IWB. Novelty: The novelty of this research is finding a new concept of innovative work behavior, through the combination of the mediation construct of continuance commitment, further established under the terms of "The Improvement Model of Innovative Work Behavior based on Directive Leadership through Integration Strategy by Continuance Commitment." Research Methods: This research’s design is hypothesis testing research and the type of research design it uses is survey research (non-experimental). This study uses the indicators from only one dimension of leadership and one organizational commitment category, so there are some empirical gaps between this and the results of previous studies. The sample in this study was 120 civil servants from PPPPTK TK and PLB Bandung. In assessing the empirical model this study used partial least square structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM) analysis. Finding/ Results: The results of this study show that directive leadership has a positive and significant impact on continuance commitment, and continuance commitment has a positive and significant influence on innovative work behavior. The effect of directed leadership on innovative work behavior is fully mediated by the continuance commitment, which is positively associated with innovative work behavior, but it is not significant. The influence of directive leadership on innovative work behavior is more favorable and significant as a result of the continuance commitment. Conclusion: This study concludes that directing leadership has an indirect effect on innovative work behavior through the mediating variable of continuance commitment, implying that directive leadership might indirectly promote innovative behavior through the continuance commitment. The assumption is that if a leader is effective at directing staff, there will be an increase in employees’ continuance commitment, and if commitment improves, there will be an increase in innovative work behavior.

Abstract

Scholars and practitioners point out that the current low level of employee engagement in the workplace is one of the most worrisome global economic problems. The potential consequence of this phenomenon is a decline in job performance. Therefore, it becomes essential to understand the concept of work engagement, its meaning for employees, and its implications for employers. This study examines the development of research on the topic of employee engagement. The study aims to determine: (1) the development of the number of international publications in the field of employee engagement in the Google Scholar database from 2016-2022; (2) core journals in international publications on the topic of employee engagement, (3) a map of the development of international publications in research fields with the topic of employee engagement, based on co-words. Collecting data by conducting searches through Publish or Perish (Pop) with the keyword’s employee, engagement, employee, with the category of the article title, abstract, and keywords in the period 2016-2022. Data in the form of the number of publications per year, publishers, and journals containing articles on employee engagement and subjects were analyzed using Microsoft Excel. Meanwhile, the trend of topic mapping was analyzed using VosViewer software. The study results show that the 2016-2022 growth development of Google Scholar indexed articles in 2020 reached 193 publications (19.3%). Most international publications are published in the International Journal of Management Review as many as 17 articles. The results showed that the research on employee engagement was still dominated by transformational leadership and organizational culture. For further research, the authors suggest the need for additional data sources so that more research results are more accurate and comprehensive.

A short-term target market is a market that’s more suitable for the pandemic term which generates sales in the near future.

Abstract

The hospitality industry in Indonesia is growing rapidly but lagging behind the readiness of human resources. The hotel industry has a crucial problem of retaining employees where there is a gap between the interests of employees and the interests of the company. Turnover intention is the main predictor of turnover, so aspects that can affect turnover intention will affect turnover. This study aims to describe and analyze the relationships between variables and dimensions in the research model or paradigm developed by the researcher. It tested the conditional process model using path analysis based on OLS regression and bootstrap methods. The population in this study were employees of the hotel industry in Indonesia, with a sample of 257 employees. The findings of this study are that the work environment has no direct effect on the variables of job satisfaction, employee engagement, and turnover intention but can interact as a moderator variable so that it effectively moderates the impact of polychronic on turnover intention through full mediation of job satisfaction and employee engagement.
