Abstract

This study aims to develop an Interactive Learning Media assisted by Google Sites for the topic of Energy and Energy Sources in Everyday Life for Grade IV students at SDN 05 Indralaya. The type of research used is Research and Development (R&D), employing the ADDIE development model, which in this study includes only four stages: Analysis, Design, Development, and Implementation. The subjects of this study were 18 fourth-grade students from class IV C at SDN 05 Indralaya. The result of the research is a learning media product supported by Google Sites. Based on the media validation results assessed by validators, the total score for media aspects from the media expert was 90%, categorized as “Highly Valid.” The material expert gave a score of 93.75%, also categorized as “Highly Valid,” and the practitioner expert gave a score of 94.64%, also categorized as “Highly Valid.” Student responses after small-group and large-group product trials with 18 fourth-grade students at SDN 05 Indralaya showed scores of 95% for the small group and 97.22% for the large group, both categorized as “Very Attractive.” Based on these assessments, it can be concluded that the interactive learning media assisted by Google Sites is highly valid and feasible to be used as a learning medium in the teaching and learning process at school.

Abstract

Kegiatan pelatihan  pembuatan dan penggunaan evaluasi pembelajaran tematik interaktif berbasis literasi numerasi bagi guru-guru SD di Kota Lahat ini ini ber­tujuan untuk: (1) memberikan pemahaman tentang pembuatan dan penggunaan evaluasi pembelajaran tematik interaktif berbasis literasi numerasi; dan (2) memotivasi guru-guru SD agar dapat membuat evaluasi pembelajaran tematik interaktif berbasis literasi numerasi untuk mengukur ketercapaian tujuan pembelajaran di kelas. Metode dan bentuk kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini adalah pelatihan, dengan teknik: ceramah secara luring dan daring yang divariasikan dengan diskusi dan tanya jawab, penugasan dan demonstrasi produk. Adapun yang menjadi sasaran kegiatan pelatihan ini adalah guru-guru SD di Lahat. Jumlah khalayak sasaran dalam pembinaan dan pelatihan ini terdiri atas 30 guru. Evaluasi dilakukan dengan teknik tes. Teknik tersebut dilakukan pada awal dan akhir pelatihan ini, sedangkan teknik non tes akan belangsung selama peserta membuat instrumen penilaian literasi numerasi. Berdasarkan hasil pretes dan postes, terlihat bahwa nilai rata-rata pretes sebesar 68.23 dan nilai rata-rata postes sebesar 78.83. Nilai rata-rata tersebut menunjukan peningkatan. Sebagaimana rancangan evaluasi yang menyatakan bahwa kegiatan ini dinyatakan berhasil bila jumlah rata- rata tes akhir lebih besar daripada tes awal.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kebutuhan terhadap pengembangan media game edukatif berbasis Canva dalam konteks pembelajaran Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam dan Sosial (IPAS) di Sekolah Dasar. Seiring dengan meningkatnya urgensi pemanfaatan media digital yang inovatif dalam dunia pendidikan, penggunaan Canva sebagai alat bantu visual interaktif dinilai memiliki potensi besar dalam meningkatkan minat dan pemahaman siswa terhadap materi IPAS. Dengan menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif, data dikumpulkan melalui observasi pembelajaran, wawancara dengan guru, serta penyebaran angket kepada siswa untuk mengidentifikasi kondisi aktual dan harapan ideal terkait media pembelajaran. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa media pembelajaran yang digunakan saat ini belum sepenuhnya mampu memfasilitasi pembelajaran interaktif dan kontekstual, terutama dalam memadukan aspek sains dan sosial secara menarik. Kurangnya media yang visual, menyenangkan, dan mudah diakses menjadi salah satu faktor rendahnya keterlibatan siswa dalam proses belajar. Guru juga mengungkapkan antusiasme terhadap penggunaan game edukatif berbasis Canva karena kemudahan desain dan fleksibilitas penggunaannya di berbagai topik. Temuan ini mengindikasikan perlunya pengembangan media game edukatif yang relevan, interaktif, dan sesuai dengan karakteristik peserta didik abad ke-21, serta mampu mendukung transformasi pembelajaran IPAS yang lebih menyenangkan dan bermakna di tingkat sekolah dasar

Abstract

Deep learning–based approaches have been implemented across various school subjects, such as mathematics, social studies, and literacy; however, their application in Pancasila Education remains limited, despite the subject’s strategic role in fostering students’ character development and national values. This study aims to design and validate an innovative deep learning–based instructional tool to enhance higher-order thinking skills in Indonesian elementary schools. Employing a development research design, the study was conducted in three stages: (1) a preliminary investigation to identify teachers’ instructional needs, (2) the design and prototyping of the learning tool, and (3) an assessment phase involving expert validation. Data were collected through questionnaires, semi-structured interviews, and expert review instruments. Six teachers from SD Islam A Kota Palembang participated in the needs analysis phase. The data were analyzed descriptively to determine levels of instructional need and product feasibility. The preliminary findings revealed that 84.76% of teachers recognized the importance of deep learning approaches, yet continued to rely predominantly on conventional instructional methods. Teachers also expressed strong interest in developing and implementing deep learning–based lesson plans. Expert validation results demonstrated a high level of feasibility of the developed product, with validity scores of 92% for material aspects, 96% for media aspects, and 84% for language aspects, resulting in an overall validity score of 90%, which falls into the very feasible category. These findings indicate that the deep learning–based instructional tool is valid in terms of content accuracy, media design, and language clarity, and is suitable for further classroom implementation and empirical evaluation. This study contributes to the advancement of deep learning practices in Pancasila Education and provides a foundation for strengthening students’ higher-order thinking skills through innovative instructional design.

Abstract

This study investigates the influence of innovation attributes on the diffusion of educational technology within Indonesia’s Merdeka Curriculum using an explanatory sequential mixed-methods design. Quantitative analysis of 120 elementary teachers revealed that relative advantage and compatibility significantly promote technology adoption, while complexity hinders it. Qualitative findings from a subset of participants elucidate these results, identifying three key contextual drivers that shape the salience of these attributes: (1) institutional and peer support, which enhances perceived ease of use and trialability; (2) pedagogical relevance, which critically underpins perceptions of relative advantage and compatibility; and (3) socio-cultural adaptation, which emerged as a core component of perceived compatibility in this context. Teachers adopt digital tools such as Canva and augmented reality more readily when these tools are embedded within supportive structures and aligned with local pedagogical and cultural contexts. The study extends Rogers’ Diffusion of Innovations theory by theorizing socio-cultural adaptation and institutional readiness not merely as external conditions, but as integral factors that dynamically shape educators' perceptions of core innovation attributes. Findings suggest that meaningful adoption requires not only access to technology but also continuous training, supportive school leadership, and culturally responsive practices to ensure sustainable innovation in primary education.

Abstract

Saluran komunikasi berfungsi sebagai media untuk menyampaikan pesan dari satu individu ke individu lainnya. Kualitas interaksi dalam pertukaran informasi menentukan apakah suatu inovasi akan berhasil disampaikan serta dampak yang ditimbulkan dari  penyebaran informasi tersebut. Rogers (1983) memberi dua contoh jenis saluran komunikasi yakni media massa dan komunikasi interpersonal.   Artikel ini bertujuan membahas lebih lanjut mengenai berbagai jenis saluran komunikasi dalam difusi inovasi di dunia pendidikan, serta contoh-contohnya dalam pendidikan di Indonesia. Belum banyak penelitian pustaka Penelitian studi pustaka membahas topik ini belum banyak, oleh sebab itu pemahaman mengenai konsep ini diharapkan dapat membantu para pendidik, pengambil kebijakan, dan peneliti pendidikan dalam mengembangkan strategi yang lebih efektif untuk mendukung perubahan dan kemajuan pendidikan di era digital ini. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif dengan menggunakan metode studi pustaka dimana pengumpulan data dengan melakukan kajian terhadap berbagai literatur buku, dan media online.

Abstract

This study aimed to analyze the need for developing Google Sites based learning media in Social Studies instruction, particularly for the topic Norms in Local Customs, for fourth grade elementary school students. The study employed a descriptive qualitative approach involving one fourth grade teacher and 15 students. Data were collected through classroom observations, in depth teacher interviews, and student needs questionnaires. Qualitative data were analyzed using the interactive model proposed by Miles and Huberman, while questionnaire data were analyzed using the Guttman Scale. The findings indicated that the learning media currently used were limited to PowerPoint presentations and static images, which were insufficient to optimally integrate multimodal elements and did not adequately support students’ independent learning. Classroom observations revealed that the learning process remained predominantly teacher centered and one directional. Interview results showed that teachers required instructional media capable of presenting local cultural visualizations in a contextual manner that was relevant to students’ lived experiences. Meanwhile, the questionnaire results demonstrated a very high level of student need for interactive, visual, and contextual digital learning media, with an average percentage of 96%. Based on these findings, it can be concluded that the development of Google Sites based learning media is highly necessary as a solution to bridge the abstract nature of Social Studies content with the learning needs of elementary school students. Google Sites has the potential to serve as a relevant instructional alternative, as it enables the integration of various learning resources within a single, flexible, and easily accessible platform.

Abstract

Pembelajaran IPA di sekolah dasar masih banyak menggunakan media konvensional yang kurang mampu memvisualisasikan konsep abstrak, termasuk materi siklus air. Kondisi ini menyebabkan siswa kesulitan memahami keterkaitan antarproses dan kurang aktif dalam pembelajaran. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis tingkat validitas media pembelajaran interaktif berbasis H5P Game Map yang dikembangkan untuk materi siklus air kelas V SD. Penelitian menggunakan metode deskriptif kuantitatif dan dibatasi pada tahap Development dalam model ADDIE, yaitu pembuatan media dan validasi ahli. Data diperoleh melalui angket penilaian yang diberikan kepada ahli materi, ahli media, dan guru praktisi dengan aspek yang dinilai meliputi isi, kebahasaan, tampilan, penyajian, dan kualitas media. Hasil validasi menunjukkan bahwa validasi materi diperoleh persentase 95,55% dan validasi media diperoleh persentase 97,75% dengan kategori “Sangat Valid”. Validasi praktisi guru masing-masing memperoleh persentase 88,14% dan 97% yang juga termasuk “Sangat Valid”. Secara keseluruhan, rekapitulasi hasil validasi menunjukkan bahwa media H5P Game Map berada pada kategori “Sangat Valid” dan layak untuk diuji cobakan dalam pembelajaran. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa media interaktif H5P berpotensi mendukung pemahaman siswa terhadap konsep siklus air secara lebih efektif.

Abstract

This study investigates the impact of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) approaches on enhancing critical thinking, creativity, and student engagement in science education among elementary school students in Palembang, Indonesia. A quasi-experimental design with a pretest-posttest control group was employed, involving 120 fifth-grade students from two public elementary schools. The experimental group participated in a 6-week STEM-based science learning program, which included hands-on activities, project-based learning, and collaborative problem-solving tasks, while the control group followed the conventional science curriculum. Data were collected through pre- and post-tests, creativity assessments using the Torrance Test of Creative Thinking (TTCT), observation sheets, and student project evaluations. The results revealed significant improvements in critical thinking (M=85.6, SD=4.2) and creativity (M=82.4, SD=3.8) among students in the experimental group compared to the control group (critical thinking: M=72.3, SD=5.1; creativity: M=68.7, SD=4.5), with p-values of 0.001 and 0.002, respectively. Additionally, observational data indicated higher levels of student engagement, collaboration, and enthusiasm in the experimental group. These findings underscore the effectiveness of STEM-based learning in fostering higher-order thinking skills and innovation, while also highlighting the importance of contextualizing STEM education to local environments. However, challenges such as limited resources, inadequate teacher training, and rigid curricula were identified as barriers to implementation. The study concludes with recommendations for policymakers and educators to invest in STEM infrastructure, provide professional development for teachers, and reform curricula to support the integration of STEM approaches in Indonesian elementary schools.

Abstract

This study aims to develop a Canva-based educational game entitled “How Breathing Helps Me in Daily Activities” as an innovative learning medium for Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam dan Sosial (IPAS) in elementary schools. The research employed a Research and Development (R&D) approach consisting of four stages: analysis, design, development, and limited trials. The product was developed using the Canva platform and incorporates interactive game elements to support students’ engagement with the topic of the human respiratory system. Validation was conducted by material, media, and language experts, while practicality was examined through individual and small-group trials involving students. Learning improvement was analyzed using a one-group pretest–posttest design. The validation results indicated that the developed educational game achieved a very valid category in terms of content accuracy, media design, and language clarity. Practicality testing yielded a score above 90%, indicating that the media is easy to use, engaging, and appropriate for the cognitive characteristics of elementary school students. The analysis of learning outcomes showed an increase in students’ average scores from 50,40 in the pretest to 87,13 in the posttest, with an N-gain value of 0.74 categorized as high. These findings suggest that the developed game supports students’ understanding of the human respiratory system and its relationship to daily activities. Overall, this study contributes empirical evidence that a Canva-based educational game on the theme “How Breathing Helps Me in Daily Activities” is valid, practical, and demonstrates promising learning outcomes for IPAS instruction at the elementary level. Further studies using experimental designs with control groups are recommended to strengthen evidence of its effectiveness and generalizability.
