Abstract

Abstract: Understanding students' learning motivation is essential for designing effective and targeted academic guidance services in Madrasah Tsanawiyah settings. This study aims to develop academic guidance services based on the learning motivation profiles of Madrasah Tsanawiyah students. A descriptive quantitative approach was employed, involving 58 students as participants. The motivation instrument was constructed based on affective, cognitive, and psychomotor aspects. The collected data were analyzed using descriptive statistical techniques to determine the levels of students' learning motivation. The results showed that the majority of students had moderate levels of motivation, predominantly driven by external factors. The guidance services were designed to enhance social interaction, self-confidence, perseverance, and active engagement in learning. These findings underscore the importance of academic guidance services tailored to the real needs of students as a holistic and effective approach to optimizing learning motivation. The services are not only relevant in the pesantren (Islamic boarding school) context but can also be adapted to other educational settings that require systematic interventions to strengthen learning enthusiasm and character development. The implications of this study support the implementation of sustainable services as a strategy for improving educational quality and student well-being.

Abstract

Abstract

This study aims to validate the growth scale in the context of educational students. This scale is based on Seligman's PERMA theory, which includes five dimensions: positive emotion, engagement, relationships, meaning, and achievement. The research method used a survey involving 305 students  of the education study program aged 18–25 who were selected using the non-probability sampling method with the convenience sampling type. Data were analyzed using the Rasch Model to determine the nature of the psychometric development scale. The analysis showed a 36.1% unidimensionality, indicating a good ability to measure the development construct. As many as 35 of the 55 items were declared valid after item fit and demographic bias analysis. The reliability value is high, with a personal reliability coefficient of 0.87 and an item reliability coefficient of 0.99. Internal consistency is also strong, with a Cronbach's Alpha of 0.90. Wright Map analysis shows that the level of item difficulty is below the student's ability, so the scale is easy to apply. This study confirms that the growth scale is considered relevant to measure the growth of prospective educator students. Further development is recommended to respond to cross-cultural issues so that the scale makes more sense in the context of higher education.

Abstract

This study aims to fill the gap in the content of peace guidance services, which are still dominated by normative approaches and do not provide students with transformative conflict management skills. A systematic literature review is the method used in this study to achieve the research objectives, namely formulating dimensions of conflict transformation as the content of peace guidance services. The results of the study indicate that the content of conflict transformation in peace guidance emphasizes awareness of the roots of conflict, creative expression, inclusive dialogue, and commitment to reconciliation. The competencies required include reflective skills, empathetic communication, and cooperation. Arts and creativity-based interventions are suggested to change attitudes and perceptions of conflict.

Abstract

Conventional Western-oriented career guidance models are not aligned with the value systems and practices of Indonesia's indigenous communities, creating significant gaps in service delivery. This research employs qualitative methodology with an ethnographic approach. This ethnographic study explores the career development practices of the community to develop a culturally sensitive career guidance framework. A qualitative ethnographic approach was employed within the community. Four key participants from communitywere purposively selected. Data were collected through participant observation and in-depth interviews using a validated interview guide with a reliability score of 0, 89. Thematic analysis was conducted using NVivo, with member validation, yielding an inter-coder reliability of over 85%. Six interconnected themes were identified: pagawean adat as cultural preservation; family influence in intergenerational knowledge transmission; wangsit and spirituality in career decisions; traditional educational systems; success concepts based on kasuksesan adat; tradition-modernity dilemmas. Baduy career development operates through a holistic cultural framework that integrates spirituality, communal responsibility, and environmental preservation, challenging individualistic Western models. There is an urgent need to decolonize career development theories and create guidance models grounded in indigenous values for culturally responsive practice.

Abstract

Effective collaboration between school counselors and parents is increasingly recognized as a vital determinant of students’ psychological well-being. While extensive research has explored communication between teachers and students, fewer studies have specifically examined the counselor–parent relationship and its implications for student outcomes, particularly in the Indonesian context. This study aims to analyze the dynamics of counselor–parent communication and its role in enhancing students’ psychological well-being through a qualitative literature review. The review synthesizes findings from national and international research published between 2015 and 2023, focusing on counselor–parent partnerships, communication strategies, and student well-being. Data were obtained from journal articles, books, and conference proceedings, and analyzed thematically to identify patterns, challenges, and best practices in counselor–parent collaboration. Findings highlight that effective communication is characterized by respect, empathy, clarity, and humility, enabling counselors and parents to build mutual trust and cooperative relationships. Moreover, communication serves not only to exchange information but also to align expectations, reduce conflict, and strengthen support systems that directly influence students’ emotional resilience and school engagement. These results resonate with international literature emphasizing parental involvement as a predictor of student adjustment and well-being. This study contributes to the literature by situating counselor–parent communication within the broader discourse on educational counseling and psychological well-being. Practically, it provides insights for schools and policymakers to design communication frameworks that foster collaborative partnerships between counselors and families.
