Abstract

Much research has been done on guidance and counseling technology but only focuses on proving the effectiveness of technology applications in counseling. Unfortunately, research has yet to be found focusing on the proper framework for utilizing technology in guidance and counseling. This paper aims to formulate a framework for using technology in counseling services. A systematic literature review analyzes and combines information from various sources to obtain a comprehensive concept. Reference search results from 2011-2022 using published or perish (PoP) identified 69 references that met the literature criteria. The results of the study show that the use of technology in counseling must be oriented towards improving service quality by paying attention to the aspects: 1) Cultural and communication processes that will occur through technological devices, 2) Provisions and procedures for using technology-based services are to be agreed upon, 3) Readiness of technical knowledge from counselors as a service manager, 4) User experience in the technology application used.

Abstract

The increasing use of social media has several impacts, including the emergence of narcissistic behavior in adolescents. Narcissistic behavior in adolescents on social media is freely spreading identity and what happened to them, spreading other people's secrets or disgrace on social media, leaving negative comments on other people's social media, and wanting other people on social media to know what they have. This study aims to determine the tendency of adolescent narcissistic behavior on social media. This research uses a literature study method. Ease of access to using social media is one of the factors in the phenomenon of narcissism that occurs, especially among adolescents. Guidance and counseling services that can be developed related to narcissism are use guidance groups.

Abstract

This study demonstrates that targeted psychoeducational interventions significantly reduce academic stress and enhance well-being among college students. Using the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method and the PRISMA 2020 protocol, the research evaluates the outcomes and mechanisms of these interventions on students' academic flourishing. Analysis of ten recent empirical articles from 2015 to 2024, sourced from Scopus, Web of Science, PubMed, and Google Scholar, underpins the findings. Thematic analysis reveals that Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)-based psychoeducation is effective at lowering stress symptoms, while PERMA model-based interventions foster resilience and enduring psychological development. Interventions lasting 5 to 8 weeks are most effective at driving sustained behavioral change. Crucially, digitizing services and adopting multimodal approaches further increase accessibility and destigmatize mental health support. The evidence supports integrating holistic psychoeducational programs into higher education to build supportive academic environments that promote student success.

Abstract

This research is aimed at obtaining empirical data regarding the subject teacher's perspective on the guidance and counseling teacher's professional profile in relation to the guidance of counseling ethics. The data collection was carried out by reviewing the literature using the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) through the PRISMA rules systematically. The conclusions of this study indicate that the perspective of subject teachers (subjects) regarding the profile of the counseling teacher profession from the affective and cognitive aspects has a positive response of 70%, and the conative aspect has a positive response of 66%. Judging from the BK ethical principles, the BK teacher has complied with several of them: respecting students' decisions, notifying the boundaries of the relationship between himself and students, not discriminatory, not imposing values, not divulging students' secrets, and not establishing a double relationship. However, this does not rule out the fact that there are still many guidance and counseling teachers in the field who violate the guidance and counseling code of ethics, such as not having a professional license recognized by ABKIN, not having a graduate of the Counselor Professional Education or guidance and counseling bachelor degree, and not having the insight and compatible skills in the field of guidance and counseling.

Abstract

This study explores the flourishing experiences of student-athletes who navigate the dual challenges of academic and athletic commitments in Indonesian higher education. Within a context where student-athletes often face conflicts between training demands and educational expectations, the research aims to understand how they construct well-being and balance through the lens of positive psychology. Using a qualitative approach with Reflexive Thematic Analysis (RTA), eight participants from diverse sport disciplines were interviewed in depth. The PERMA (Positive Emotion, Engagement, Relationships, Meaning, and Accomplishment) served as a sensitizing concept to guide analysis while remaining open to emergent themes. Findings reveal that flourishing develops through the adaptive integration of positive emotions, deep engagement, supportive social relationships, purposeful dual-role identity, and balanced achievements. Participants experienced a process of self-regulation, resilience, and meaning-making as they coped with physical fatigue, academic stress, and time management challenges. These processes reflected both hedonic and eudaimonic dimensions of well-being. The study underscores that flourishing is not a static state but a reflective and ecological process shaped by social support, institutional context, and personal strengths. The findings highlight the need for strength-based counseling programs and flexible institutional policies to sustain student-athletes’ holistic well-being and long-term academic–athletic harmony.

Abstract

Peace education can equip students with various skills to participate meaningfully in a democratic society. One of the skills that can be developed is peaceful conflict resolution. This research examines the role of teachers in developing a culture of peace through conflict resolution practices in the environment of Vocational High School. The method used is qualitative with a phenomenological model, involving 5 teachers who have received training in peace education implementation. The research results show that the values of peace have been integrated into various subjects through the teachers' concrete actions, especially in the form of self-regulation, interpersonal skills, and communication skills. The teachers demonstrated the ability to manage emotions, avoid and resolve conflicts, and create a peaceful and harmonious school environment. This research emphasizes the importance of conflict resolution education in the school curriculum to improve the quality of student interactions and reduce conflicts in schools. The findings of this study encourage the need to evaluate teaching materials so that peace values are clearly emphasized in the learning process, enabling schools to become strategic spaces for building a sustainable culture of peace.

Abstract

This study discusses the phenomenon of self-harm, particularly Non-Suicidal Self-Injury (NSSI), which is prevalent among Generation Z adolescents. The method used is a systematic literature review by analyzing 25 scientific articles published in the last five years from the Scopus, SINTA, PubMed, and Google Scholar databases. The results of the study show that self-harm in adolescents is triggered by an inability to manage emotions, past trauma, social pressure, and the influence of digital media. Although not intended to end life, this behavior still has a serious impact on physical and mental health. Self-harm is also closely related to depression and an increased risk of suicide. Therefore, this study confirms that self-harm is not merely a behavioral problem, but a manifestation of complex psychopathology. Multidisciplinary interventions involving families, schools, and professionals are needed, as well as increased mental health literacy and digital content monitoring as preventive measures to reduce the prevalence of self-harm among adolescents.

Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic has severely impacted low-income families, highlighting the critical role of limited resources and unforeseen challenges. The need to remain home for work and study intensified financial strain and increased stress levels. This study aims to identify key factors contributing to family resilience among low-income households during the pandemic. Using a qualitative phenomenological approach, the research was conducted through snowball sampling and in-depth interviews with low-income families in West Java and Central Java, Indonesia. Eleven structured questions guided the interviews, and the transcripts were analyzed using directed content analysis. The findings reveal that flexibility, connectedness, and access to social and economic resources significantly contribute to family resilience. These factors foster collaboration in managing household responsibilities and generating income, suggesting a possible shift away from traditional patriarchal values in Indonesian families. The study offers insights into how these families navigate crises and adapt to changing dynamics, providing a foundation for future research and interventions to enhance family resilience.
