Abstract

The importance of an individual's citizenship status has led the international community to establish several legal instruments related to citizenship status. The right to renounce citizenship is based on the principle that individuals have the right to determine their own citizenship, subject to the reasonable requirements of the laws of the involved states. This research method employs a qualitative approach, focusing on examining the application of legal norms and principles to legal theories and doctrines. This involves identifying the policies of various states regarding the citizenship status of families who sympathize with ISIS. Consequently, the research aims to formulate policy considerations of states concerning international legal provisions

Abstract

Inflation is one of the non-military threats in the economic dimension, as stipulated in Presidential Regulation Number 8 of 2021 concerning the General Defense Policy of 2020-2024. The Ministry of Home Affairs plays a crucial role as a key component in non-military defense against the threat of inflation in Indonesia. This research aims to elucidate the role of the Ministry of Home Affairs as part of non-military defense in handling inflation to support national security of a country. The author employs a qualitative research method with data collection techniques including interviews, observations, literature review, and data analysis using an interactive model by Miles Huberman, Saldana (2014), and Bruce J. Cohen's Theory of Roles (1992). The research findings indicate that the Ministry of Home Affairs, as part of Non-Military Defense, has played an enacted role in concrete efforts to control inflation. In the context of National Security, these follow-up actions by the Ministry of Home Affairs can have implications for economic stability and the inflation rate to support or maintain national security of a country

Abstract

This study examines the persistent tensions between North and South Korea, two nations that share historical and cultural ties prior to their division following World War II. After Japan’s surrender on August 15, 1945, Korea was split into two spheres of influence: the Soviet Union took control of the North, while the United States oversaw the South, with the 38th parallel serving as the dividing line. This division led to stark ideological, social, and economic differences between the two countries, exacerbated by the Cold War rivalry. The Korean War became a larger proxy conflict, with North Korea receiving support from the Soviet Union and China, while South Korea was backed by the United States and its UN allies. The war involved various military strategies across land, sea, and air, adapting to the evolving battlefield conditions. This research uses a descriptive analysis and documentary method, relying on books, articles, and other sources to explore the ongoing conflict and the challenges of the peace process between the two Koreas. The study aims to illuminate the root causes of the conflict and the barriers to lasting peace, while emphasizing the substantial role of global powers like the United States and the Soviet Union in shaping the ideological and social dynamics of the Korean Peninsula

Abstract

Indonesia is a country that is vulnerable to various disasters, both natural and man-made. Man-made disasters, which are often caused by negligence or criminal acts such as fires, riots, and terrorism, have a serious impact on the security and welfare of society. This research aims to explore the role of the Indonesian National Police (Polri) in the prevention, mitigation and recovery after man-made disasters in Indonesia. Using national security theory and man-made disaster theory as a frame of reference, this research identifies the steps taken by the National Police to maintain national stability and security in the face of man-made disasters. Polri is involved in intelligence, patrol, counseling, evacuation, law enforcement, and post-disaster community recovery. Through the utilization of advanced technology, specialized training, and collaboration with related agencies, Polri seeks to prevent and mitigate the impact of man-made disasters. The results of this study provide an in-depth insight into the effectiveness of Polri's strategies and actions in dealing with man-made disasters, as well as its contribution to public security and order. The research concludes that Polri has a crucial role to play in protecting the safety and well-being of the community amidst the threat of man-made disasters.

Abstract

The effectiveness of artillery rocket in battlefield is the determined by its impact point dispersion, which may occur due to manufacturing and measurement inaccuracy, initial launch perturbations and atmospheric conditions. Therefore, the objective of this study is to establish model that could predict the impact point dispersion of R-Han 300 rocket using Monte Carlo method. Generic rocket of 6 Degree-of-Freedom model was implemented to investigate the impact point. Initially two simulations with 1000 iterations were carried out, first to study the effect of value uncertainty of every parameter on the impact point dispersion at launch elevation angle 50 degrees, second to study the impact point dispersion caused by value uncertainty of all the parameters at launch elevation angles ranging from 30 to 70 degrees. The second simulation is then repeated with 10000 iterations. This study showed that the dispersion increases as the launch elevation angle increases, except around the optimal launch elevation angle that give the farthest range. Monte Carlo simulation with 10000 iterations showed a better normal distributed data then the simulation with 1000 iterations, but the maximum difference in value of CEP resulted from both simulations is very small, which is 3.16%.

Abstract

National economic stability constitutes a fundamental pillar of national development and security. Global challenges, including trade wars, financial crises, and pandemics, have amplified the vulnerability of national economies. As a state governed by law, Indonesia bears a constitutional obligation to safeguard public welfare pursuant to the 1945 Constitution. This article analyzes the function of the rule of law in preserving economic stability as an integral component of national security strategy. The study employs a normative juridical method, examining constitutional mandates and regulations related to emergencies and economic regulation, namely the 1945 Constitution, Law No. 23/1959 on State of Emergency, Law No. 9/2016 on Prevention and Handling of Financial System Crises as updated by Law No. 4/2023 on Financial Sector Development and Strengthening (P2SK Law), and Law No. 3/2002 on National Defense. The findings reveal that Indonesia lacks an explicit legal recognition of economic emergencies as a distinct category. Consequently, legal reform is deemed necessary to ensure legitimacy, institutional clarity, and regulatory certainty in managing financial crises within the framework of national security.
