Abstract

This research emerged from the lack of understanding of the role of Indonesian language and literature in the context of education and cultural preservation efforts. The purpose of this study is to examine the historical development and position of Indonesian language and literature as a means of unification and media in the formation of national character. The method used is qualitative with a literature study approach. The results of the study show that Indonesian language and literature continue to develop over time, and have a significant role in shaping national identity. In conclusion, both need to be preserved and developed to remain relevant in facing global challenges.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the role and variation of Indonesian language used in various communication contexts. The focus of the study is how Indonesian language functions as an efficient communication medium and how language variation is adjusted to conditions, goals, and conversation partners. This study applies a qualitative descriptive approach with observation, interview, and documentation methods as a means of data collection. Data sources are obtained from language use in educational environments, mass media, and the wider community. The results of the study indicate that Indonesian language has instrumental, regulatory, interactional, personal, heuristic, imaginative, and representational functions. In addition, the language variations found include formal, non-formal, spoken, and written variations, each of which is applied according to the social and situational context. These findings show how important it is to understand the function and variation of language in improving language competence appropriately and effectively.

Abstract

Semantics is a branch of linguistics that studies meaning in language, both at the word, phrase, and sentence levels. This study covers the relationship between linguistic signs and the meaning they contain and their implications for human understanding. This study aims to describe (1) the definition of semantics according to experts, (2) types of meaning in Indonesian, (3) forms of meaning change, and (4) the phenomena of ambiguity, homonyms, homophones, and homographs along with examples. This study uses a qualitative approach with a literature study method, namely examining various sources of literature such as books, journals, and scientific articles that are relevant to the study of semantics. The results of the study show that the types of meaning in Indonesian include lexical, grammatical, referential, non-referential, denotative, and connotative meanings. Changes in meaning are divided into generalization, specialization, amelioration, pejoration, and associative. In addition, linguistic phenomena such as ambiguity (double meanings due to sentence structure), homonyms (words with the same pronunciation and spelling, different meanings), homophones (same pronunciation, different spelling and meanings), and homographs (same spelling, different pronunciation and meanings) were also found.

Abstract

Bahasa merupakan alat komunikasi utama dalam kehidupan manusia yang berfungsi untuk menyampaikan gagasan, perasaan, dan informasi. Dalam penggunaan bahasa yang baik dan benar, diperlukan pemahaman yang mendalam terhadap kaidah-kaidah kebahasaan, salah satunya adalah aspek sintaksis. Sintaksis merupakan cabang dari ilmu linguistik yang mempelajari bagaimana unsur-unsur Bahasa mulai dari kata, frasa, klausa, hingga kalimat disusun menjadi satuan gramatikal yang memiliki makna. Dalam konteks kebahasaan Bahasa Indonesia, sintaksis memegang peranan penting sebagai rujukan dalam penyusunan kalimat yang sesuai dengan kaidah tata bahasa. Pemahaman terhadap struktur sintaksis tidak hanya penting dalam kegiatan berbahasa sehari-hari, tetapi juga dalam konteks akademik, pendidikan, jurnalistik, dan berbagai bidang lainnya yang memerlukan kejelasan serta ketepatan bahasa. Permasalahan dalam penggunaan bahasa, khususnya dalam hal struktur kalimat, masih sering ditemukan dalam berbagai bentuk tulisan maupun lisan. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa pemahaman terhadap struktur sintaksis belum sepenuhnya dikuasai oleh penutur Bahasa Indonesia, baik dalam lingkungan pendidikan maupun masyarakat umum. Oleh karena itu, kajian yang mendalam mengenai struktur kebahasaan, khususnya aspek sintaksis, sangat diperlukan sebagai dasar dalam peningkatan kompetensi berbahasa. Sintaksis tidak hanya membahas tentang susunan kata, tetapi juga menjelaskan hubungan antarunsur dalam kalimat, fungsi gramatikal, jenis-jenis kalimat, serta makna yang terkandung di dalamnya. Kajian ini menjadi sangat penting untuk membantu pengguna bahasa memahami pola dan struktur yang membentuk kalimat secara sistematis dan logis. Tujuan Penelitian Menjelaskan konsep dasar sintaksis dalam Bahasa Indonesia sebagai bagian dari kajian linguistik. Menguraikan satuan-satuan sintaksis dalam Bahasa Indonesia, yaitu kata, frasa, dan klausa, beserta pengertian, ciri-ciri, jenis-jenis, dan contohnya.Menjelaskan fungsi-fungsi sintaksis dalam kalimat, yang meliputi subjek, predikat, objek, pelengkap, dan keterangan, lengkap dengan pengertian dan contohnya. Melalui studi ini, diharapkan pembaca dapat memperoleh pemahaman yang utuh dan sistematis mengenai struktur sintaksis dalam Bahasa Indonesia, sehingga dapat dijadikan sebagai rujukan dalam penggunaan bahasa yang efektif, efisien, dan sesuai dengan kaidah kebahasaan.

Abstract

Low student enthusiasm in reading, a lack of diversity in teaching approaches, and a shortage of learning support materials are only a few of the difficulties faced by Indonesian language instruction in primary schools. Learning innovation is critically needed to address these issues and enhance the caliber and efficacy of the teaching and learning process. This study uses a library research approach to find and examine different types of innovation in Indonesian language learning. Scientific publications, books, and pertinent education policy documents over the past 10 years were the sources of the data. According to the study's findings, students' literacy and motivation to learn are enhanced by the use of digital technology, project-based learning strategies, and the incorporation of visual and interactive media. Furthermore, contextual and collaborative learning techniques increase students' engagement with the curriculum. The conversation emphasizes the necessity of teacher readiness in adopting innovation, including digital competence and pedagogical abilities, as well as support for school infrastructure and regulations. The study's conclusion demonstrates that implementing innovation that is pertinent and appropriate for the learning environment can improve the efficacy of learning Indonesian at the elementary school level and support the long-term, comprehensive development of students' literacy competency.

Abstract

The teaching of Indonesian in elementary schools is one area of education that is drastically changing in the digital age. It has been demonstrated that incorporating technology into language instruction improves instructional efficacy, enriches students' literacy experiences, and makes learning more engaging and individualized. By looking at numerous scholarly sources from the previous five years about the use of technology in Indonesian language learning, this study uses a literature review methodology. The findings of the study demonstrate that the use of technology, including digital libraries, augmented reality (AR), e-books, and applications based on artificial intelligence, helps students improve their language proficiency in speaking, writing, listening, and reading. Additionally, technology contributes to learning assessment by enabling more efficient and objective evaluations through digital platforms. Nonetheless, there are still issues with technology adoption, including the digital divide, infrastructure preparedness, and teachers' proficiency in making the most of technology. Thus, in order to enhance the quality of Indonesian language instruction in elementary schools, a thorough approach to technology integration is required.

Abstract

Curriculum review is an in-depth and systematic analysis of curriculum elements such as objectives, materials, methods, and evaluation, to understand their effectiveness and implementation. This study aims to comprehensively review the Indonesian language curriculum in Elementary Schools (SD). The focus of the review includes the operational definition of the curriculum, main components (objectives, materials, methods, assessments), examples of implementation, implementation challenges, and the formulation of more relevant and effective development recommendations. Qualitative descriptive methods are used to explore the perceptions and experiences of stakeholders such as teachers, principals, and curriculum developers through document analysis, interviews, and teaching observations. The results of the review are expected to provide a clear picture of the strengths and weaknesses of the current curriculum, as well as data-based recommendations to improve the quality of curriculum design and implementation. The purpose of this study is to contribute significantly to the understanding of the Indonesian language curriculum in SD and become a basis for decision making to improve the quality of education, with the hope of producing a more effective curriculum in developing students' language competencies holistically.

Abstract

Reading learning in Elementary Schools is an important foundation in developing students' literacy skills. Through reading skills, students are not only able to recognize letters and words, but also understand the contents of the reading as a whole. This study aims to examine strategies, types, and challenges in reading learning, especially advanced reading at the elementary level. The method used is a literature study by analyzing various academic sources such as books, scientific journals, research articles, and education policy documents. The results of the study show that students' reading skills still face various obstacles, especially in terms of reading comprehension and reading speed. The low variety of teaching methods and the lack of interesting learning media are also inhibiting factors. Therefore, innovation is needed in learning approaches that can increase students' motivation and literacy skills in a sustainable manner. This study is expected to be a reference for developing more effective and enjoyable reading learning practices in Elementary Schools.

Abstract

Listening is one of the fundamental language skills that significantly influences students' language comprehension and communication abilities. In elementary school, advanced listening instruction is often overlooked, resulting in students"™ low ability to analyze, interpret, and respond to spoken texts critically. This study aims to explore the implementation of advanced listening learning in elementary schools and its impact on students"™ listening comprehension skills. A qualitative descriptive method was used, involving classroom observations, interviews with teachers, and document analysis. The data were analyzed through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The results show that the implementation of advanced listening learning is still limited and tends to focus only on basic listening skills, such as identifying main ideas or keywords. Teachers rarely use varied and interactive listening strategies, such as note-taking, predicting content, or responding to audio-visual materials. Furthermore, it was found that students often face difficulties in retaining detailed information and making inferences from what they listen to. The study concludes that there is an urgent need for more structured and engaging listening learning approaches that go beyond the basic level, integrating technology and student-centered strategies to improve comprehension and critical thinking. This research is expected to be a reference for developing more effective listening instruction in elementary education.

Abstract

Strategi pembelajaran berbasis literasi merupakan pendekatan yang menekankan pada kekuatan keterampilan membaca, menulis, berpikir kritis, dan berbicara sebagai landasan utama dalam proses pembelajaran siswa pada jenjang sekolah dasar. Literasi dalam konteks pendidikan saat ini tidak hanya terbatas pada kemampuan memahami teks saja, tetapi juga merambah pada aspek digital, numerasi, dan sains. Strategi penerapan ini bertujuan untuk membentuk generasi yang mampu menyaring informasi secara bijak di tengah derasnya arus informasi digital. Tulisan ini membahas berbagai pendekatan literasi seperti literasi baca, tulis, numerasi, digital, dan sains, serta tantangan yang dihadapi dalam penerapannya di lingkungan sekolah dasar. Kurangnya minat membaca, terbatasnya sarana, dan rendahnya keterlibatan orang tua menjadi kendala yang cukup berarti. Oleh karena itu, perlu dilakukan pengintegrasian strategi literasi ke dalam pembelajaran tematik, pembiasaan membaca, pemanfaatan teknologi tepat guna, serta kerja sama antara guru, orang tua, dan masyarakat sebagai solusi konkrit untuk mewujudkan budaya literasi yang tangguh dan berkelanjutan.
