Abstract

The one of Belitung Island’s native fish which has important economic value is Cempedik fish (Osteochilus spilurus). Its consumption, which still relies on natural catchments, requires a study of its biology and ecology. One of the studies that have never been studied in the maturity of this species is the relationship of fecundity with fish weight - length and gonad weight. This study used samples of Cempedik fish from the Lenggang River, East Belitung which were obtained randomly from the catches of fishermen. Sampling adjusts the fishing season that occurs in the rainy season. The preparation was carried out on whole fish using 4% formalin. Calculation of fecundity gravimetrically and compared with fish lengths and gonad weights in the graph. Fecundity in 2015 was 222 – 10,947 eggs and in 2016 there were 335 – 2,060 eggs. Fish body length and weight affected the fecundity of the 2015 fish sample but had no effect on the 2016 sample. This is predicted to occur due to differences in sampling time to position and rainfall in the rainy season, availability and suitability of natural feed, and changes in habitat quality. Gonadal weight correlated with fecundity, where the higher the gonadal weight, the higher the fecundity. Keywords: Cempedik, rainy season, maturity, fecundity.

Abstract

Pulau Panjang sebagai salah satu pulau terpencil di Kepulauan Bangka Belitung, juga mengalami dampak pembelajaran daring dan luring akibat pandemi covid-19. Saat pembelajaran luring telah berlangsung penuh, minat belajar siswa masih terpengaruh pembelajaran online. Perlu diberikan kegiatan-kegiatan yang menarik minat siswa yang meningkatkan motivasi belajarnya. Kegiatan belajar Bahasa Inggris, mengaji Al Quran dan kisah teladan Islam di Masjid, dan edukasi model sekolah alam diharapkan dapat meningkatkan motivasi belajar anak. Permainan edukatif dan reward diberikan untuk memberikan memori terkait pesan-pesan positif untuk meningkatkan minat belajar.

Abstract

The fish farming business in Pangkalpinang City is growing along with the increasing demand for aquaculture products. Sangriang Farm is a fish farming business engaged in the hatchery and rearing of Gurame ( Osphronemus goramy ), Catfish ( pangasius sp .), Goldfish ( Cyprinus carpio ), Tilapia ( Oreochromis niloticus ), and Catfish ( Clarias sp .). This study aims to analyze existing business models and recommend new business models through the Business Model Canvas (BMC). The research method used in this study is a survey method with a case study technique. Analysis of existing conditions reinforced by SWOT analysis resulted in BMC improvements in Channels elements (use of social media, product labels, and packaging), Key Resources (additional human resources, capital, and intensification of cultivation technology), Customer Segments (target consumers of semi-finished processed products and restaurant suppliers), and Revenue Streams (bookkeeping management and product diversification). Implementing the recommendations is expected to increase the business capacity of Sangriang Farm.

Abstract

Panjang Island is one of the islands in the Lepar Pongok District, South Bangka Regency,  Province of Bangka Belitung Islands. The inhabitants of this island rely on marine resources for their livelihood as fishermen. The catch often results in non-economic fish which becomes wasted. The island also has limited vegetable resources.  Program of village development implements aquaponics education to provide initial knowledge about fish and vegetable cultivation by utilizing fish waste as fish feed. Aquaponic education uses a demonstration plot method that involves the community in the process. After the aquaponics construction was completed, an explanation of the system and its management was given to the community. Panjang Island residents are enthusiastic to know more details and also learn about aquaponics.

Abstract

Acid Mine Drainage (AMD) occured after mining activity exposes metal sulphides to oxidizing conditions that impact acidic condition with low pH value in the waters and heavy metals contamination. These conditions are also occurred in abandoned tin mining pits, one of placed in Bangka Belitung Archipelago Province. This mini review aimed to elaborate information of micro- and macro-organism’ life in acid mine drainage to be associated with the possibility of life in abandoned tin mining pits. Acidophilic and acidotolerant organisms such as bacterial, phyto- and zooplankton, and some macroorganism included invertebrate or vertebrate like fishes and also water plants were found in these waters. Their presence developed a symbiosis interaction in aquatic environment. Phytoplankton is an autotroph organism, despite being considered autotroph organism, many phytoplankton require exogenous organic cofactors and nutrients for their life. These cofactors were often served by heterotroph bacterial to sustain the growth of phytoplankton. Instead, bacterial obtained dissolved organic matter derived from phytoplankton to survive in the aquatic environment. Furthermore, phytoplankton was consumed by zooplankton; zooplankton was consumed by small fish to big fish in the waters. In addition, water plants also support the interaction of organisms in the water by supplying dissolved oxygen, also anorganic and organic material for their life. The symbiosis and quorum sensing plays an important role in structuring the aquatic food web and creating a life in the acidic water-polluted heavy metal.

Abstract

Tempalak fish obtained from the former lead has accumulated lead heavy metal with an average of 1.33 mg/Kg The value exceeds the safety threshold of 0.3 mg/Kg. Research results that show the potential danger of heavy metals in fish obtained from kolong if consumed by humans need to be socialized to stakeholders related to the community. This information is expected to be a warning and disseminated to the public to be vigilant. The socialization to Sungaiselan Atas Village will be held on November 10, 2022. The location of the service is at the Sungaiselan Atas Village office in Sungai Selan District, Bangka Tengah Regency. The implementation of socialization uses a discussion approach with village officials to provide information about the heavy metal content of fish caught from the kolong. The results of this initial research were received by the Sungai Selan Atas village to be the subject of their discussion with the community.

Abstract

Tanjung Punai, in the western of Bangka Island, has a 1988.74 ha of mangrove forest with dominance on the type of Sonneratia Alba. Most of the local population works are caught shrimp and crab, but having a side business cultivating blood shells on the mud beach around the mangrove. There are concerns about the conversion of mangrove land for ponds and the increasing area of blood shellfish cultivation. For this reason, it is necessary to strengthen information about mangrove benefits and silvofishery systems' cultivation. Submission of information and knowledge of silvofishery and the importance of mangrove protection is made through group discussions or individuals of clampers. Knowledge of the benefits of mangroves for the sustainability of shellfish cultivation and the capture of shrimp and crabs can be accepted and approved by cultivators. Silvofishery's concept for blood shellfish cultivation if the expansion of the land leads to the mangrove area is also understood.

Abstract

Trigonopoma gracile merupakan salah satu speies ikan air tawar yang ditemukan hidup di perairan Pulau Bangka yang terdampak penambangan timah. Perlu dilakukan kajian terkait hubungan genetik ikan ini dengan wilayah lainnya di paparan Sunda. Sampel ikan dari Sungai Gedong, Bangka diidentifikasi karakteristik molekulernya dengan menggunakan gen COI (sitokrom oksidase I) dan dibandingkan dengan temuan di wilayah Sundaland lainnya. Trigonopoma gracile dari Sungai Gedong, Bangka memiliki hubungan yang dekat dengan ikan T. gracile dari Kalimantan Barat, Serawak, Belitung, dan Sempan, Bangka dengan jarak antara 0,93 – 1,89 %, namun berbeda kluster dengan Selangor, Bangka Selatan, Kemuja-Bangka, Trengganu,dan Serawak dengan jarak genetik 3,69 – 5,44 %. Hubungan antar pulau pada T. gracile diprediksi terjadi akibat hubungan sunga purba Sunda Utara dimasa lampau. Variasi genetik yang muncul di Pulau Bangka dimungkinkan sebagai adaptasi terhadap kondisi lingkungannya.

Abstract

Abstract. Leaf litter of mangrove has the potential for cellulolytic bacteria that are beneficial in aquaculture feed. Tin mining in Bangka Island impact for mangrove and allows for new strains of cellulolytic bacteria. Identification and safety evaluations are needed to knows the applied to aquaculture. This study aims to obtain and evaluate the potential impact on the aquaculture of cellulolytic bacteria from the Tukak Sadai mangrove, South Bangka.  The effects were shown on the survival and clinical symptoms of fish through pathogenicity testing of the selected bacteria. This research was done from March 2017 until March 2018. Leaf litter was a sample taken from mangroves and isolated using 1% Carboxymethyl Cellulosa (CMC) media. Qualitative test of cellulase enzyme activity uses congo red and bacterial identification to use biochemical characterization with Microbact TM. There were six cellulolytic bacterial isolates from the mangrove leaves of Tukak Sadai, South Bangka. TSS4 isolates had the highest cellulolytic index of 26.4 mm compared to other strains. Biochemical characterization of TSS4 isolates show similarities with Bacillus cereus. Pathogenicity test on Bacillus cereus_TSS4 isolates show that it was not pathogenic with normal fish conditions until the end of maintenance, fish survival reached 100%, and no damage to internal organs occurred.Keywords: Bacillus cereus,  mangrove leaf litter, pathogenicity, cellulolytic bacteriaAbstrak. Serasah daun mangrove memiliki potensi bakteri selulolitik yang bermanfaat pada pakan dalam akuakultur. Penambangan timah di Pulau Bangka berdampak pada hutan bakau dan memungkinkan strain bakteri selulolitik baru. Identifikasi dan evaluasi keamanan diperlukan untuk mengetahui penerapan pada budidaya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendapatkan dan mengevaluasi dampak potensial pada akuakultur dari bakteri selulolitik hutan bakau Tukak Sadai, Bangka Selatan. Dampaknya   ditunjukkan  pada   kelangsungan   hidup   dan   gejala   klinis  ikan  melalui   pengujian patogenisitas dari bakteri yang dipilih. Penelitian ini dilakukan mulai Maret 2017 hingga Maret 2018. Serasah daun merupakan sampel yang diambil dari mangrove dan diisolasi menggunakan media Carboxymethyl Cellulosa (CMC) 1%. Uji kualitatif aktivitas enzim selulase menggunakan congo red dan identifikasi bakteri untuk menggunakan karakterisasi biokimia dengan MicrobactTM. Ada enam isolat bakteri selulolitik dari daun mangrove Tukak Sadai, Bangka Selatan. Isolat TSS4 memiliki indeks selulolitik tertinggi 26,4 mm dibandingkan dengan jenis lainnya. Karakterisasi biokimia isolat TSS4 menunjukkan kesamaan dengan Bacillus cereus. Uji patogenisitas pada isolat Bacillus cereus_TSS4 menunjukkan bahwa tidak patogen dengan kondisi ikan normal sampai akhir pemeliharaan, kelangsungan hidup ikan mencapai 100%, dan tidak terjadi kerusakan pada organ internal.Kata kunci: Bacillus cereus, serasah daun mangrove, patogenisitas, bakteri selulolitik

Abstract

Pulau Panjang merupakan salah satu dusun yang berada Di Kecamatan Lepar, Bangka Selatan. Wilayah ini dikelilingi oleh lautan sehingga produksi sayur sangat minim. Tujuan dari pengabdian ini adalah masyarakat dapat mengimplementasikan tenaga surya untuk budidaya ikan dan sayuran di Pulau Panjang. Metode pelaksanaannya dimulai dengan persiapan alat dan bahan, sosialisasi kepada masyarakat Pulau Panjang, pembuatan akuaponik, persiapan budidaya sayuran, persiapan budidaya ikan, pemeliharaan akuaponik, pengawasan da kontrol keberlanjutan, panen bersama dan evaluasi pelaksanaan. Hasil dari pengabdian ini adalah implementasi demplot pembuatan resirkulasi air dengan menggunakan tenaga surya dapat mencukupi suplai listrik pompa, sehingga kegiatan akuaponik dapat berjalan dengan lancar dan meningkatkan kemandirian masyarakat dalam memenuhi asupan gizi.
