Abstract

The research investigates the impact of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) on stock returns in the mining sector of Indonesia. The study examines data from financial reports and annual reports of 37 Indonesian companies listed on the stock exchange between 2017 and 2021. The research measures stock return using various factors, including corporate social responsibility, firm age, firm size, return on equity (ROE), and return on assets (ROA). The results reveal that there is a significant positive relationship between ROA and stock return. However, firm age shows a significant negative relationship with stock return, whereas firm size, ROE, and CSR do not have a significant effect. The research findings contribute to the existing literature by suggesting that in Indonesia, investors do not consider CSR as a key factor when making investment decisions since they are not particularly interested in the CSR activities undertaken by companies.

Abstract

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of vegetable pesticides from virginia tobacco stem waste on the diversity of the koksi beetle predators on potato plants. The method used is an experimental method with direct experiments in the field. The experimental design used was a randomized block design (RAK) with 6 treatments, namely P0 (control), P1 (abamectin), P2 (vegetable insecticide of Virginia tobacco stem waste 2 ml/l), P3 (vegetable insecticide of Virginia tobacco stem waste 4 ml/l). l), P4 (vegetable insecticide of Virginia tobacco stem waste 6 ml/l), and P5 (vegetable insecticide of Virginia tobacco stem waste 8 ml/l). This research was conducted in Sembalun Bumbung Village, Sembalun District, East Lombok Regency, West Nusa Tenggara from August 2020 to November 2020. The results showed that treatment at the concentration of P5 (vegetable pesticide from virginia tobacco stem waste 8 ml/l) showed a suppression value. The diversity and abundance index of the predators of the koksi beetle were the most influential compared to the treatment of several concentrations of other vegetable pesticides, while the application of botanical pesticides with various concentrations was not able to suppress the predatory population of the koksi beetle in the species Cheliomenes sexmaculata and Coccinella transveralis and was able to suppress the population of Coleophora inaqualis. Cheilomenes sexmaculata species has the highest population compared to the other 2 species.

Abstract

This study aims to determine whether the application of fermented goat manure with Streptomyces sp. bioactivator can control purple blotch (Alternaria porri) and top dieback (Phytophthora porri) diseases in garlic plants (Allium sativum L). The research was conducted at the Microbiology Laboratory of the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Mataram, and on a farmer's paddy field located in Sembalun Bumbung Village, East Lombok Regency. The study was carried out from May to November 2024. The experimental design used in this study was a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) consisting of six treatments: P0 (no fertilizer), P1 (goat manure without bioactivator), P2 (goat manure + SH isolate), P3 (goat manure + BSi isolate), P4 (goat manure + BSc isolate), and P5 (goat manure + SH isolate + liquid SH). Each treatment was repeated six times, resulting in 36 experimental units/plots. The data were analyzed using Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) at a 5% significance level, followed by the Honest Significant Difference (HSD) test at a 5% significance level. The results showed that applying fermented goat manure with Streptomyces sp. bioactivator affected the growth of garlic plants but did not affect the yield of garlic plants (Allium sativum L). The treatment with goat manure + BSi isolate (P3) showed the highest value in plant growth, while the treatment with goat manure + SH isolate + liquid SH (P5) showed the highest yield. Meanwhile, the incidence of purple blotch disease was not affected by the application of fermented goat manure with Streptomyces sp., but it successfully reduced the incidence of top dieback disease in garlic plants.

Abstract

The sweetpotato weevil (Cylas sp.) is one of the most damaging pests of sweet potato (Ipomoea batatas L.), and its presence requires further investigation. This pest causes severe damage to both the stems and tubers, which are the economically valuable parts of the plant. Symptoms of infestation include the presence of holes in the tubers and stems, accompanied by a foul odor. This study aimed to determine the level of damage caused by Cylas sp. in six sweet potato cultivars. The research used an experimental method with a field trial, designed using a Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD), consisting of six sweet potato cultivar treatments (U): Lato-lato (U1), Cilembu (U2), Thailand (U3), Kentang (U4), Ase (U5), and Purple (U6). Each treatment was repeated four times. The results showed that the six cultivars did not differ significantly in their susceptibility to Cylas sp. infestation. The cultivars that tended to suffer the highest damage were Lato-lato (9.04%) and Thailand (8.75%), while the Cilembu cultivar (U2) showed the lowest damage (0%). The highest tuber weight per plant was produced by the Ase cultivar (U5), at 1.05 kg per plant, while the greatest number of tubers per plant was found in the Lato-lato cultivar (U1), with 6.44 tubers per plant. There was a negative correlation between damage intensity and tuber weight, with R² = 0.786. The Ase cultivar is recommended as a superior variety due to its good resistance and high tuber yield.

Abstract

Sweet potato (Ipomoea batatas L.) is a type of cultivated plant whose roots form tubers with high nutritional content, especially carbohydrates. This study aimed to identify the presence of leaf-damaging insects during the growth of sweet potato (Ipomoea batatas L.). The research used an experimental method and was designed using a Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD) consisting of 6 sweet potato cultivar treatments (KUJ), namely Lato-lato (KUJ1), Cilembu (KUJ2), Thailand (KUJ3), Kentang (KUJ4), Ase (KUJ5), and Purple (KUJ6). Each treatment was repeated 4 times, resulting in 24 experimental units. The results of the study revealed the presence of six leaf-damaging insects: whiteflies, grasshoppers, leafrollers, armyworms, tortoise beetles, and leafminers. The leafroller was the most dominant pest, showing a significant population surge, especially in the 9th week after planting (9 WAP), particularly on the Ase cultivar. Afterwards, its population declined significantly in the 11th week after planting (11 WAP). The KUJ6 (Purple) treatment had the highest diversity index at 1.10. KUJ6 (Purple) also had the highest evenness value at 0.62, while the highest dominance value, 0.28, was found in the KUJ4 (Kentang) treatment.

Abstract

The socioemotional wealth perspective emphasizes a companys concern with preserving its reputation and image. This study investigates the effects of family firms, family ownership, and family management on corporate social responsibility (CSR) disclosure, with slack resources serving as a moderating variable. Employing a quantitative approach, the analysis draws on secondary data from 118 manufacturing companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) during 20182022, yielding 590 firm-year observations. Multiple linear regression using Stata was applied. The results show that family firms have a significant negative effect on CSR disclosure, while family management has a significant positive effect. In contrast, family ownership exhibits no significant relationship with CSR disclosure. Moreover, slack resources are found to moderate the relationships between family firms, family ownership, family management, and CSR disclosure.

Abstract

This study explores the effect of financial literacy, financial parenting, and knowledge about riba on Muslim consumer behavior using Buy Now Pay Later (BNPL) services, with financial self-efficacy and perceived risk of usury as mediators. Through a mixed approach (quantitative on 402 Muslim respondents of generation Y and Z with formal Islamic education and qualitative through interviews with six informants), this study found that financial literacy does not directly affect the use of BNPL. However, financial parenting significantly increases financial self-efficacy, which drives using BNPL. In addition, understanding riba increases the perception of usury risk, ultimately reducing the intention to use BNPL. The implications of this study highlight the importance of financial education in the family and understanding of Islamic values in shaping responsible consumer behavior, as well as its relevance for Islamic financial policy and education.
