Abstract

This study is motivated by the limited availability of comprehensive bibliometric analyses on research trends in early childhood nutrition, despite the significant impact of child nutrition issues on growth, optimal development, and global nutrition policy directions. The aim of this research is to analyze publication trends, identify leading contributors, determine prominent journals, uncover dominant themes, and provide implications for the development of early childhood nutrition research based on data from the Scopus database. A quantitative descriptive method with a bibliometric analysis design was employed by selecting scientific documents containing the keywords “nutrition” and “childhood,” written in English, indexed in Scopus, and published between 2020 and 2024 with complete metadata based on inclusion criteria. Data were analyzed using VOSviewer software to map publication trends, thematic clusters, and collaboration patterns among researchers and institutions. The results show fluctuations in publication volume, peaking in 2023, and the identification of eight main thematic clusters, covering key topics such as obesity, malnutrition, nutrition literacy, and health education interventions. These findings reinforce the relevance of child development theory and health literacy, and highlight the importance of mapping the scientific landscape to support more targeted and interdisciplinary nutrition intervention strategies. The implications of this study include theoretical contributions in the form of a systematic understanding of the evolution of child nutrition research, and practical recommendations for researchers, policymakers, and practitioners to design effective evidence-based interventions. The study also opens further exploration opportunities into the causes of publication fluctuations, database expansion, and qualitative content analysis of the research.

Abstract

Early childhood is a critical phase for developing both cognitive and gross motor abilities. However, many early education practices remain cognitively centered, providing limited structured motor stimulation. This study investigates the effect of Project-Based Learning (PjBL) through a recycled bottle planting project on the cognitive and gross motor development of children aged 5–6 years at RA Rachmat Bangil. Employing a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design, the study involved an experimental group participating in a series of hands-on activities designing, cutting, decorating bottles, planting seeds, and plant care while a control group received conventional instruction. Results showed that children in the PjBL group achieved significantly higher cognitive gain scores compared to the control group. Although improvements in gross motor skills were also observed, they were less substantial. The project’s physical nature fostered coordination, balance, and movement in a meaningful and enjoyable context. These findings confirm that PjBL, even with simple materials, effectively supports holistic child development. The study suggests that early childhood educators integrate physical engagement within cognitive learning through contextual, environmentally conscious projects.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to analyze the feasibility and effectiveness of the circuit game of the recognize me have in developing gross motor skills and children's language in group A at RA Al-Qodir Wage Sidoarjo. This development research use the Dick & Carey research and development model. The result of the development are circuit game products to develop gross motor skill and childrens language in group A. The development of the media includes material about the introduction of indonesian culture, namely traditional clothes in Indonesia. The study was conducted in class A1 at RA Al-Qodir Wage Sidoarjo. Based on the formative test to experts and children obtained qualitative and quantitative data, qualitative data are suggestions from experts and quantitative data in the form of a percentage of child observasion sheets. From the percentage of asessment of formative tests experts and also children, the circuit game is feasible and effective to be used in learning to develop gross motor skills and childrens language in group A in RA Al-Qodir Wage Sidoarjo.

Abstract

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menkaji adanya pengaruh video youtube interaktif terhadap pemahaman tata surya pada anak usia 5-6 tahun. Dengan meningkatnya penggunaan tekologi dalam pendidikan, video pembelajaran menjadi media yang efektif untuk menarik perhatian dan meningkatkan pemahaman anak usia 5-6 tahun. Penelitian ini meggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif menggunakan penelitian one group pre test dan post test. Populasi dalam penelitian ini berjumlah 20 anak pada kelompok B. Instrumen pada penelitian yang diamati pada penelitian ini adalah kemampuan mengetahui mengamati berbagai planet-planet dalam video pembelajaran, kemampuan dalam menklasifikasikan dengan mengelompokkan planet terdekat dan terjauh dengan matahari, dan kemampuan mengetahui cara menkomunikasikan dengan menjawab pertanyaan dalam seputar planet dan tata surya. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada waktu sebanyak 5 kali pertemuan dengan pre test 1 kali, treatmen 3 kali, dan post test 1 kali. Data dikumpulkan dengan observasi dan dokumentasi., kemudian dianalisis menggunakan Saphiro Wilk. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata nilai pre test dan post test yaitu 67,2 dan 105,6. Diperoleh nilai Asymp. Sig (2-tailed) yang bernilai (0,000 < 0,05). Sehingga Ha diterima dan Ho ditolak. Berdasarkan data tersebut dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh dari video pembelajaran berbasis youtube terhadap pemahaman tata surya anak usia dini 5-6 tahun. Diharapkan hasil penelitian ini dapat memberikan konstribusi dalam pengembangan metode pembelajaran yang lebih inovatif di pendidikan anak usia dini. Abstract

Stunting is a serious nutritional issue that affects children's physical growth and cognitive development. It can be prevented through adequate exclusive breastfeeding during the first six months of life. This study aims to assess mothers’ perceptions regarding the importance of exclusive breastfeeding in preventing stunting among toddlers aged 6–24 months, as well as the factors influencing their decision to provide exclusive breastfeeding. The study sample consisted of 130 mothers with toddlers aged 6–24 months. Data were collected through interviews using structured questionnaires. Data analysis was conducted using descriptive statistics and logistic regression. The results showed that a positive maternal perception of exclusive breastfeeding was significantly associated with lower stunting rates among toddlers. Moreover, maternal knowledge and family support emerged as key factors contributing to the success of exclusive breastfeeding.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui pengaruh media board game dalam meningkatkan perkembangan kognitif anak usia 5-6 tahun di kelompok B2 TK Kemala Bhayangkari 1 Surabaya. Sampel dalam penelitian ini yaitu anak usia 5-6 tahun yang berjumlah 15 anak kelompok B2 TK Kemala Bhayangkari 1 Surabaya. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kuantitatif dengan desain one grup pretest postest melalui pengujian non parametrik Wilcoxon signed rank test. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan peningkatan hasil dari pretest ke postest. Hal ini menunjukkan adanya pengaruh media board game dalam meningkatkan perkembangan kognitif anak usia 5-6 tahun kelompok B2 TK Kemala Bhayangkari 1 Surabaya. Pada media board game materi berkaitan tentang perkembangan kognitif yaitu melengkapi kata, menyebutkan dan menuliskan angka 1-12 seperti pada jam dinding, menarik garis serta mengaitkan antara tempat ibadah dengan agama, memahami arti kata melalui ekspresi seperti kata marah diletakan pada ekspresi marah, dan dapat menuliskan nama diri sendiri dengan baik.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji efektivitas media interaktif Wordwall dalam meningkatkan motivasi belajar anak usia 5–6 tahun di TK Karunia Surabaya. Menggunakan metode pre-eksperimental one group pre-test and post-test design dengan 20 anak kelompok B sebagai subjek, data dikumpulkan melalui observasi skala Likert dan dianalisis menggunakan uji Wilcoxon. Hasil menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan motivasi belajar (Asymp. Sig. 0,000 < 0,05), sehingga Wordwall dinilai efektif dalam meningkatkan minat, ketekunan, dan keuletan anak. Wordwall dapat menjadi strategi alternatif dalam pembelajaran anak usia dini.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of beading activities on the fine motor skills of children aged 4–5 years at TK Labschool Unesa 1. The background of this research problem is the lack of stimulation in fine motor activities, causing children to experience difficulties in pinching small objects, controlling finger movements, and performing activities requiring hand–eye coordination. This study employed a quantitative approach with a one-group pretest–posttest design. The subjects were 31 children from Group A. Data were collected through observation using an assessment sheet covering children’s flexibility, finger strength, and accuracy, and analyzed using the paired sample t-test. The results showed a significant difference between the pretest and posttest scores after the children participated in beading activities. The average score before treatment (pretest) was 44%, and after treatment (posttest) was 71%, with a score difference of 27%, indicating the influence of beading activities. This influence was evident from improvements in children’s ability to pinch, insert beads, and coordinate their hands and eyes after participating in beading activities. This occurred because the researcher provided three treatments and followed beading stages appropriate to the children’s developmental age.

Abstract

Guru yang baik akan menciptakan suasana belajar yang menyenangkan, mendorong anak untuk aktif belajar, serta menumbuhkan rasa percaya diri dalam diri anak. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis peran guru laki-laki dalam membentuk Sidoarjo. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif deskriptif dengan pendekatan studi kasus, yang bertujuan untuk menggambarkan secara rinci kontribusi guru laki-laki dalam perkembangan motorik kasar dan prososial anak di taman kanak-kanak (TK) di Sidoarjo. Subjek penelitian terdiri dari guru laki-laki yang mengajar di TK serta anak-anak usia dini sebagai peserta didik. Data diperoleh melalui wawancara mendalam, observasi langsung, dan dokumentasi, dengan fokus pada kegiatan yang melibatkan keterampilan motorik kasar dan prososial anak. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa guru laki-laki memainkan peran yang signifikan dalam perkembangan motorik kasar anak, antara lain melalui kegiatan fisik seperti berlari, melompat, dan permainan yang melibatkan koordinasi tubuh. Selain itu, mereka juga berperan dalam mengajarkan keterampilan prososial, seperti empati, berbagi, dan kerja sama, melalui interaksi sosial dan permainan kelompok. Guru laki-laki memberikan teladan dalam pengembangan karakter sosial dan mendukung anak-anak dalam gabungan kata.
