Abstract

This study examines the topic of Galungan, a cultural practice in Bali that occurs every 210 days. Galungan is not only celebrated in Bali but also in almost all major cities in Indonesia and around the world. In every celebration, Galungan is always referred to as the day of victory of dharma (virtue) over adharma (evil). This topic is examined using a postmodern approach, employing Foucault's theory of power-knowledge relations. The aim is to uncover the hidden power-knowledge relations within it. To achieve this goal, Galungan is positioned as subjugated knowledge. The research question is, what knowledge is subjugated, so that a single discourse emerges that Galungan is a celebration of the victory of dharma over adharma? This issue is examined using Foucault's methods of genealogy of power and archaeology of knowledge. The research results show that the reference to Galungan as the day of victory of dharma over adharma is the result of demythologization, a fictional story that is reconstructed and considered as truth. In order to realize this discourse, a great deal of old knowledge is subjugated, such as Galungan as the day of the arrival of ancestral spirits and the economic cycle of society. At the surface level, this effort is successful, in pemedek [worshippers] these two things are more prominent than highlighting the victory of dharma over adharma.

Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to find and discover the conditions that allow the 1950s generation in Pemecutan Kaja Village, North Denpasar District, Denpasar City, Bali-Indonesia, not to be involved in the tourism business sector, either in the middle or upper class. Newcomers mostly control the sector. Even though their place of residence is only 6 to 12 kilometers from the Sanur and Kuta tourist attractions. Why can this phenomenon happen? This question will be answered using a combination of family history and memory history methodology, while the data excavation (heuristic) stage uses Bourdieu's concepts of generative structural theory. The research results show that the defeat of local residents in the tourism business can be found in the factor of family management in carrying out their obligations as members of the Banjar. Many parents force or are forced to assign their sons to represent the family in carrying out customary obligations, so they must always stay home and work not far from home. Rarely are there those who dare to look for work in Sanur and Kuta, which are the main tourist destinations in Bali. Therefore, they do not have the basics of the tourism business. The unstoppable negative excesses of modernization have further narrowed the business opportunities in the tourism sector. This mental condition is influenced by their habitus, which is formed from the practice of fear and obedience to parents and the strong domination of the banjar.

Abstract

Nowadays, the consumption of medicine suits is a problem of self-medication that occurs in the community. BPOM prohibits this medicine from being used, because the quality is not guaranteed and it can cause harm when consumed because it contains several classes of hard drugs. The high consumption of medicine suits indicates a lack of public understanding of the risks posed by medicine suits. Measuring people's perceptions of medicine suits needs to be done, one of which is by filling out a questionnaire. There is no questionnaire that measures a person's perception of suit medicine, so it is necessary to develop research instruments through validity and reliability tests of questionnaires related to measuring people's perceptions or beliefs about a treatment. This study was conducted using observational method and cross sectional time design. Where it involved 30 trial respondents while still paying attention to the inclusion criteria that had been set. The results of this study indicate that the questionnaire designed has met the minimum values of validity and reliability. Where there is only one invalid question item. While in general the resulting value of r count> r table. Regarding reliability, all items have achieved a Cronbach' alpha value of more than 0.6. This indicates that the questionnaire on community risk perception towards legitimate use of medicine suits can be used repeatedly.
