Abstract

This study aimed to test the effectiveness of guidance curriculum to develop students’ pro-social behavior. This was a quasi-experimental study with non-equivalent pretest-posttest control group design. The sample of this study was the 25 students of IVb SD IT Ibnu Khaldun Lembang. It was taken by using convenient sampling technique. The instruments of this study were pro-social behavioral response questionnaire. The data were analyzed by using Anacova. The result of the statistical test showed that the guidance curriculum has not been effective to develop the students’ pro-social behavior. However, practically, the guidance curriculum is able to create students’ pro-social behavior, it was proven by the experimental group students’ score improvement compared to the control group. Moreover, it could be observed qualitatively through the result of the observation, interview, and self-checklist.  The most dominant qualitative changes shown by the behavioral aspects of teamwork, sharing, or giving in the form of information sharing, time-sharing, material sharing, and helping such as amusing friends. This study generated a new strategy for elementary school counselor in designing and implementing a guidance curriculum that is integrated with the guidance-nuanced learning process to improve the students’ pro-social behavior’ essential aspects.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the self-strength counseling model in developing student academic expectations. The study was conducted using a single-subject experimental design to measure the relationship between 2 variables, namely self-strength counseling and academic expectations. The type of design used is the A-B-A design, where there are three experimental phases, namely phase A is the baseline phase and phase B is the intervention phase. The data analysis used in this research is descriptive statistical techniques because the study has a single case (single subject). The number of subjects in this study was limited, namely only five students. The results showed that self-strength counseling was effective in increasing student academic expectations after the intervention process. The study results can be used to reference counselors in higher education to improve student academic expectations through the self-strength counseling model.

The type of research used in this study is experimental research with a pre-experimental design approach, using a one group pretest-posttest design model. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling, namely students who were known to have been involved in brawls and klithih totaling seven people, and are currently still attending one of the high schools in Yogyakarta City in grade eleven. The instrument used to collect data was an empathy scale, which consists of two main components, namely cognitive empathy and empathy affective. Data were analyzed using the Paired Sample T-Test. The results of the study showed that the eudaimonic wellbeing group counseling model given for eleven sessions has been proven effective in increasing empathy in students involved in brawls and klithih in high schools in Yogyakarta city.
