Abstract

There was a proposal that the minimum age of Indonesia’s Presidential and Vice-Presidential candidates should be 35 years as opposed to the original 40 years. Decision of the Constitutional Court No. 90/PUU-XXI/2023 on the Minimum Age of Presidential and Vice-Presidential Candidates rejected this proposal and declared that the minimum age is 40 years old with an additional sentence of "having had experience as a head of a region". This paper aims to analyze how Constitutional Court judges reconstruct the characteristics of the Constitutional Court decision in interpreting case No. 90/PUU-XXI/2023 and the considerations of Constitutional Court judges in applying legal regulation principles in deciding upon case No. 90/PUU-XXI/2023. Results found that The Decision of the Constitutional Court No. 90/PUU-XXI/2023 is unconstitutional as it violates the mandate of the 1945 Constitution and Article 169 letter (q) of Law No. 7 of 2017 on the General Election.

Abstract

Money politics is an act of dishonesty in a campaign that influences other people or the community by giving money or certain goods or you could say buying and selling votes when approaching the election, so that the community chooses a certain candidate. The formulation of the problem studied is 1) What is the role of IAIN Ponorogo students in guarding the prevention of money politics in the 2024 Election? 2) How can students' attitudes towards criticizing the occurrence of money politics in the implementation of the 2024 elections be studied using Critical Legal Studies theory? The research methodology uses qualitative methods, and the type of normative juridical research is in the form of Law No. 7 of 2017 concerning General Elections. The research approach uses 1) conceptual research using Critical Legal Studies theory as an analytical tool. 2) case study research, in the form of a case of money politics in the 2024 elections. 3) Sociology research, the author conducted interviews with Syariah faculty students at IAIN Ponorogo regarding money politics in the 2024 elections. The research results are: 1) The role of sharia faculty students at IAIN Ponorogo in guarding and preventing money politics in the 2024 Election, namely: providing education to the public, the BEM Chair Election was carried out transparently, honestly, without engaging in money politics. Providing understanding to the public, to choose the vision and mission of election candidates, not choosing because of money or gifts. Educate the public about the dangers of political money which is prohibited by religion, and get sanctions based on Article 515 of Law No. 7 of 2017 concerning Elections. Eliminate the cultural tradition of receiving money or gifts before elections. Select potential leaders with integrity. 2) Political money in the implementation of the 2024 elections, if studied using the Critical Legal Studies theory, that critical legal studies has characteristics, namely: political interests, groups of people who are not neutral, benefiting certain parties. detrimental to the general public

Abstract

ABSTRACT Purpose of the study: This paper aims to analyze the philosophical meaning of the Constitutional Court Judges' interpretation of Decision No. 117/PUU-XX/2022 on the limitation of presidential and vice-presidential terms of office. It also seeks to examine the limitations of the presidential and vice presidential terms of office in Indonesia's legal transformation and renewal. Methodology: This normative research used the qualitative method. The writers employed development law theory, judges’ interpretation, and philosophical theory. Results: It was revealed that the Constitutional Court Judges' interpretation of Decision No. 117/PUU-XX/2022 considered the grammatical, sociological, systematic, historical, comparative, and futuristic interpretations. The term limits for the president and vice president are part of Indonesia's legal reform and renewal efforts, which aim to establish a system of checks and balances among the state's highest institutions. The 1945 Constitution previously established this limitation. Applications of this study: Since presidential and vice-presidential candidates can only hold office for two terms, this research may motivate political parties to choose candidates who exhibit integrity, morals, and character. Finding the best persons to represent the nation is therefore preferable. Novelty/Originality of this study: There has not been any previous research that analyzes Constitutional Court Judges' interpretation of Decision No. 117/PUU-XX/2022 on the limitation of presidential and vice-presidential terms of office. The transformation and renewal of the law in Indonesia regarding term limits for the president and vice president should be guided by the applicable legal politics in Indonesia. Law No. 7 of 2017 concerning General Elections continues to be referenced in legal politics made by election organizers. The president's term of office is limited to two terms, according to Article 169 letter n and 227 letter i. Keywords: Judicial interpretation, constitutional court, term of office, president, Indonesia.   ABSTRAK  Tujuan Kajian: Tulisan ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis makna filosofis dibalik interpretasi hakim Mahkamah Konstitusi terhadap Putusan Nomor 117/PUU-XX/2022 tentang pembatasan masa jabatan presiden dan wakil presiden. Selain itu juga bertujuan untuk menganalisis pembatasan masa jabatan presiden dan wakil presiden dalam transformasi dan pembaharuan hukum di Indonesia. Metodologi: Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian normatif yang menggunakan metode kualitatif. Penulis menggunakan teori hukum pembangunan dan interpretasi hakim serta teori filosofis. Hasil Temuan Penelitian: Ditemukan bahwa interpretasi hakim konstitusi terhadap Putusan Nomor 117/PUU-XX/2022 mempertimbangkan interpretasi gramatikal, interpretasi sosiologis, interpretasi sistematis, interpretasi historis, interpretasi komparatif, dan interpretasi futuristik. Dalam transformasi dan pembaharuan hukum di Indonesia, pembatasan masa jabatan presiden dan wakil presiden bertujuan untuk menciptakan sistem check and balances antar lembaga tinggi negara. Pembatasan ini sudah sesuai dengan UUD 1945. Aplikasi Studi: Penelitian ini dapat memotivasi partai politik untuk menjadi calon presiden dan wakil presiden yang memiliki integritas, moral, dan akhlak, karena presiden dan wakil presiden hanya dapat menjabat selama dua periode. Jadi, yang terbaik adalah menemukan kandidat terbaik untuk mengabdi pada negara. Kebaruan/Originalitas penelitian: Belum ada penelitian sebelumnya yang menganalisis interpretasi hakim Mahkamah Konstitusi terhadap Putusan Nomor 117/PUU-XX/2022 tentang pembatasan masa jabatan presiden dan wakil presiden. Tranformasi dan pembaharuan hukum di Indonesia terhadap Pembatasan masa jabatan Presiden dan Wakil Presiden. Hendaknya  berperdoman pada politik hukum yang berlaku di Indonesia, politik hukum berupa pembuatan kebijakan dari penyelenggara pemilu tetap mengacu pada Undang No 7 Tahun 2017 tentang Pemilihan Umum. Pasal 169 huruf n, dan Pasal 227 huruf I yang mempertahankan masa jabatan Presiden hanya berlaku dua kali masa jabatan. Abstract

The creation of this photographic work with the title Anhedonia in Expression Photography, the concept is to represent feelings that are abstract or can only be felt and imagined but do not have a form that can be seen with the naked eye. The author chose one of these abstract traits, namely anhedonia. Anhedonia is a term for a depressive condition in a person characterized by a loss of interest in enjoying pleasure in his life. Apart from being abstract, this is also based on empirical experience. Responding to this, the author has an interest in being able to represent it in expression photography. The objectives of this creation are 1) to represent abstract feelings into visual photography, 2) to create expression photography with glow in the dark technique, 3) to expand the repertoire of photographic art creation. The creation method uses a photography creation method approach into three stages, namely exploration, experimentation and final realization. The creation of this result is expected to provide one of the references in expression photography and can be developed into further research with similar theme concepts.

Abstract

Teknologi pembelajaran tidak saja membahas tentang teknis kegiatan belajar di sekolah/kampus, namun dalam lingkupnya memuat serangkaian values terkait proses pembelajaran yang dapat menginspirasi, menggali imajinasi, untuk selanjutnya dapat diterapkan dalam beragam Teknik pembelajaran. Selain mengajarkan tentang kemampuan dan keterampilan, pembelajaran dengan mumpuni membahas dan mengupas tuntas mengenai nilai, norma, serta etika/standar attitude yang hidup dan berkembang dalam masyarakat. Guna memahami aspek – aspek penting tersebut, diperlukan metode – metode yang efektif, supaya proses perubahan menuju lebih baik dalam segala hal terkait belajar, dapat berjalan dengan lancar dan sukses. Pembelajaran di SMK, sesuai dengan Namanya, menitikberatkan pada ‘kejuruan’, artinya terdapat banyak jurusan dan peminatan yang ada di SMK, agar siswa – siswanya semakin terampil dengan memilih penjurusan sesuai minat/bakat/potensinya, salah satunya adalah peminatan matematika. Matematika adalah ilmu dasar bagi cabang ilmu lainnya. Dengan demikian, matematika dijadikan salah satu mata pelajaran wajib di tingkat sekolah menengah dan kejuruan, serta bahkan diarahkan menjadi salah satu cabang peminatan. Tetapi selama ini telah terstigma pemikiran bahwa matematika adalah pelajaran yang sulit untuk dipahami oleh siswa. Berbagai upaya dilakukan pengajar untuk dapat membuat matematika menarik dan mudah dipahami oleh siswa. Salah satunya adalah dengan bantuan teknologi. Pada era digital ini, teknologi diterapkan diberbagai bidang untuk mempermudah permasalahan yang ada. Oleh karena itu, tim pengabdian bermaksud meningkatkan pemahaman siswa terhadap matematika dengan memanfaatkan teknologi. Tim pengabdian akan mengenalkan bagaimana menyelesaikan permasalahan matematika terapan dan statistika terapan menggunakan software. Dengan fokus utama berupa matematika terapan dalam pengabdian ini, tidak tertutup bagi cabang ilmu lain dalam pemanfaatan workshop dan pendampingan yang dilaksanakan, terutama bagi guru – guru di SMKN 4 Muaro Jambi dan SMKN 5 Batang Hari ini. Karena akan diupayakan peningkatan kompetensi guru dalam teknologi pembelajaran yang dapat diterapkan dalam semua mata pelajaran.

Abstract

Students’ understanding of mathematical concepts is strongly shaped by the quality of social interaction that occurs during learning. Limited communication between teachers and students or among students can disrupt knowledge construction and weaken learning engagement. This study therefore examines (1) teacher–student social interactions in mathematics learning, (2) student–student social interactions, and (3) teachers’ strategies for adjusting the difficulty level of questions to students’ abilities. The study was conducted at SMP Negeri 7 Kota Jambi in May 2025 using a qualitative descriptive design. Data were collected through observation, questionnaires, interviews, and documentation, and analyzed through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing, with credibility ensured through source and technique triangulation. The results indicate that teacher–student interaction was in the excellent category. Teachers acted as More Knowledgeable Others by providing explanations, guiding questions, and scaffolding aligned with the Zone of Proximal Development. Student–student interaction was also excellent, as reflected in group discussions and the exchange of problem-solving strategies, although participation remained uneven. Teachers’ strategies in adjusting question difficulty were likewise excellent. These results affirm that social interaction-based learning grounded in Vygotskian theory supports students’ progression from actual to potential competence through collaboration and targeted instructional support.

Abstract

This study aims to describe and analyze the thinking processes of junior high school students in solving mathematical problems based on Bruner's theory in the context of the Pythagorean theorem. The study was conducted at SMP Negeri 7 Kota Jambi in May 2025. Data were collected through classroom observations as preliminary data, followed by questionnaires and problem-solving tests as primary data, and interviews as supporting data. All data were analyzed qualitatively. The findings show that at the enactive stage, most students demonstrated low performance; four students were categorized as poor, one as excellent, and one as good. At the iconic stage, student performance ranged from low to adequate, with one student rated excellent, two rated adequate, and three rated poor. At the symbolic stage, most students demonstrated high performance, with three students rated excellent, two rated good, and one rated poor. These results indicate that although students generally succeed at the symbolic stage, weaknesses at the enactive and iconic stages suggest that their understanding remains predominantly procedural rather than conceptual. Teachers are encouraged to apply learning strategies that intentionally strengthen all three of Bruner’s representational stages, rather than moving directly to symbolic reasoning without first providing concrete experiences and visual representations. Teachers should also consider students’ diverse thinking processes when designing instruction. Future studies should include larger samples and more diverse methods, such as quantitative or mixed-methods approaches, to further examine how representation-based strategies influence students’ mathematical problem-solving performance.

Abstract

Minat belajar matematika siswa masih tergolong rendah akibat penerapan metode pembelajaran yang kurang menarik dan minimnya integrasi budaya lokal sehingga siswa sulit menghubungkan konsep matematika dengan kehidupan sehari-hari. Untuk mengatasi permasalahan ini, maka dikembangkan media pembelajaran komik matematika berilustrasikan Budaya Jambi menggunakan Problem-Based Learning. Penelitian ini adalah jenis penelitian pengembangan dengan menggunakan model pengembangan ADDIE yakni analyze, design, development, implementation, dan evaluation. Subjek penelitian ini adalah Dosen ahli materi dan ahli desain, guru matematika kelas VII E pada uji coba perorangan, 9 orang siswa kelas VII E pada uji coba kelompok kecil, serta 30 orang siswa kelas VII E pada uji coba lapangan. Hasil penelitian yang diperoleh menunjukkan bahwa komik matematika ini didesain menggunakan aplikasi ibis paint x dan canva. Komik matematika ini menggunakan pendekatan problem-based learning pada materi kesebangunan dan kekongruenan. Penelitian ini memperoleh hasil validasi yaitu 76% untuk materi dan 82,3% untuk desain. Hasil kepraktisan media menurut guru 97% dan siswa 89,8%. Lalu efektivitas komik matematika diukur melalui nilai N-Gain dengan diperoleh hasil 56,85%, tes hasil belajar yaitu 83,3% dan lembar observasi siswa yaitu 90,8%. Dari perhitungan tersebut menunjukkan minat belajar siswa meningkat dibandingkan sebelum menggunakan komik matematika berilustrasi budaya Jambi menggunakan problem-based learning.Students interest in learning mathematics is still relatively low due to unattractive learning methods and minimal integration of local culture so that students find it difficult to connect mathematical concepts with everyday life. To overcome this, a mathematical comic learning media illustrated with Jambi culture was developed using problem-based learning. This research is a type of development research using the ADDIE development model, namely analyze, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The subjects of this study were lecturers who were material experts and design experts, mathematics teachers of class VII E in individual trials, 9 students of class VII E in small group trials, and 30 students of class VII E in field trials. The results of the study showed that this mathematical comic was designed using the ibis paint x and canva applications. This mathematical comic uses a problem-based learning approach to the material of similarity and congruence. This study obtained validation results of 76% for material and 82.3% for design. The results of the practicality of the media according to teachers were 97% and students 89.8%. Then the effectiveness of mathematical comics is measured through the N-Gain value with the results obtained 56.85%, the learning outcome test is 83.3% and the student observation sheet is 90.8%. From these calculations, it shows that students' interest in learning has increased compared to before using the learning media of mathematical comics illustrated with Jambi culture using problem-based learning.

Abstract

This study was motivated by the low mathematical literacy skills of students at SMP Negeri 17 Batanghari. Based on interview results, this condition occurs because the learning process is still teacher-centered and tends to be conventional, without considering differences in students' readiness and learning characteristics. One way to overcome this is by applying the outdoor modeling mathematics model combined with differentiated learning to accommodate differences in student abilities. This study aims to determine the effect of applying the outdoor modeling mathematics model in differentiated learning on students' mathematical literacy skills. This study uses an experimental design with a Posttest-Only Control Group Design. The research population consisted of all seventh-grade students at SMPN 17 Batanghari, comprising five classes. The research subjects involved three seventh-grade classes selected by simple random sampling. These were experiment class I, which applied the outdoor modeling mathematics model in differentiated learning; experiment class II, which applied the direct instruction model in differentiated learning; and the control class, which applied the direct instruction model. The instruments used in this study were a mathematical ability test, an observation sheet on the implementation of learning by teachers and students, and a posttest in the form of a student mathematical literacy test sheet. All instruments were validated through content validity by experts, namely mathematics education lecturers, to ensure the suitability of the instruments with mathematical literacy indicators and learning objectives. In addition, the test instruments were piloted on students with characteristics similar to the research subjects to obtain empirical validity using Product Moment correlation. The reliability of the test instruments was analyzed using Cronbach's Alpha coefficient so that the test instruments were declared reliable and suitable for use in the study. The analysis method applied was one-way ANOVA, followed by a post hoc Tukey test to process the data obtained. The research findings indicate that the use of the outdoor modeling mathematics model in differentiated learning is better at improving students' mathematical literacy skills, while the direct instruction model in differentiated learning does not show significant results when compared to the direct instruction model. In the three sample classes, the implementation of learning by teachers and students was very good. These findings recommend that mathematics teachers apply the outdoor modeling mathematics model in differentiated learning as an alternative to to improve their mathematical literacy skills.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatar belakangi oleh kesalahan-kesalahan siswa underachiever dalam menyelesaikan soal matematika yang mengalami kesulitan di kelas XI IPA SMA Islam Al-Falah Jambi. Underachiever mengacu kepada siswa yang sesungguhnya memiliki tingkat potensi intelektual yang tergolong di atas normal, tetapi prestasi belajarnya tergolong rendah karena mengalami kesulitan belajar, lambat dalam mengerjakan tugas atau sangat cepat dalam mengerjakan tugas-tugasnya, tapi mereka tidak peduli dengan kualitas tugas yang dikerjakannya itu. Melalui diagnosis kesulitan belajar gejala-gejala yang menunjukkan adanya kesulitan dalam belajar diidentifikasi, dicari faktor-faktor yang menyebabkannya, dan diupayakan jalan keluar untuk memecahkan masalah tersebut. Melalui pengajaran remedial, siswa yang mengalami kesulitan belajar dapat diperbaiki atau disembuhkan sehingga dapat mencapai hasil yang diharapkan sesuai dengan kemampuan. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif deskriptif. Pengumpulan data dilakukan berdasarkan lembar tes intelegensi, tes diagnostic, dan wawancara. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa yang memiliki kesulitan dalam menyelesaikan soal pada materi turunan fungsi aljabar pada semester genap tahun akademik 2011/2012. Berdasarkan penelitian diperoleh hasil dari lembar tes dan wawancara bahwa siswa yang memiliki IQ 130-140 yang menjadi subjek penulis mendapatkan prestasi kurang atau biasa-biasa saja. Selanjutnya untuk mengetahui kesulitan siswa, dilakukan tes diagnostik materi turunan fungsi aljabar. Pada tes diagnostik tahap I siswa yang menjadi subjek peneliti tersebut melakukan kesalahan yang menjadi penyebab kesulitan belajar siswa yaitu siswa tidak menuliskan rumus dalam menyelesaikan soal, siswa tidak menggunakan bahasa sehari-hari kedalam bahasa matematika, siswa tidak menulis notasi turunan fungsi, siswa salah menggunakan rumus, siswa salah dalam perhitungan yang dilakukan. Siswa tidak dapat menggunakan rumus yang dipakai dan tidak dapat melakukan operasi hitung. Setelah dilaksanakan pembelajaran remedial, siswa tidak lagi lupa menuliskan rumus atau konsep dalam menyelesaikan soal, siswa juga menggunakan bahasa sehari-hari kedalam bahasa matematika, dan siswa tidak lagi salah menggunakan rumus dalam menyelesaikan soal yang diberikan yaitu materi turunan fungsi aljabar. Hal ini terlihat pada saat tes diagnostik tahap II setelah siswa diberikan pengajaran remedial. Dengan demikian, pembelajaran remedial dapat membantu siswa mengatasi kesulitan belajar matematika. Dari hasil penelitian ini disarankan agar guru dapat memahami dan mengatasi kesulitan siswa dalam menyelesaikan soal dan melaksanakan pembelajaran remedial setelah tes dianostik.   Kata Kunci : kesulitan siswa, menyelesaikan soal, siswa underachiever.
