Abstract

This pioneering research embarks on an ambitious quest to assess the conceptual, procedural feasibility, and efficacy of a groundbreaking educational intervention, the Discovery Learning model teaching module infused with the innovative PhET application aimed at enhancing students' generic skills proficiency in the domain of chemistry. In a departure from conventional methodologies, this study employs a rigorous Research and Development (R&D) framework underpinned by the renowned 4-D Model to craft and validate this transformative pedagogical tool meticulously. The research cohort comprises high school students and chemistry educators poised at the vanguard of educational innovation. Employing a meticulously designed set of validation and response questionnaires, the study harnesses the power of descriptive and inferential statistics to glean profound insights into the impact of the intervention. The findings illuminate a resounding success: the Discovery Learning model teaching module, seamlessly integrated with the PhET application, exhibits exceptional validity and practicality and yields tangible improvements in students' generic chemistry science skills. Moreover, the overwhelmingly positive feedback from both educators and students, coupled with discernible disparities in responses between the experimental and control groups, underscores the transformative potential of this cutting-edge educational tool. This research's novelty lies in its pioneering development and validation of a PhET application-based Discovery Learning module, heralding a paradigm shift in secondary school chemistry education with the promise of fostering a new generation of scientifically literate and adept learners primed to navigate the complexities of the modern world.

Abstract

SDN 2 Senawar School Receives an Award from the South Sumatra Provincial Environmental Service as an Environmental Education Center. In addition to having general school facilities, SDN 2 Senawar also has several facilities related to environmental management efforts. Most of these school facilities are well maintained and used as learning facilities for students. The results of the researcher's observations regarding the implementation of Adiwiyata at SDN 2 Senawar are seen from 18 indicators. The researcher used a checklist sheet to see the suitability of the implementation of Adiwiyata in the field with the assessment sheet that had been made by the researcher. The results of the observation obtained a total score of 87 at the South Sumatra Province level. This value shows that the implementation of Adiwiyata at SDN 2 Senawar is classified as good. This shows that 85% of the Adiwiyata implementation indicators have been implemented well. Evidence in the field also shows that SDN 2 Senawar strongly supports efforts to improve environmental behavior among students and school residents.

Abstract

This study focuses on the psychological condition of bridge athletes in Jambi Province, highlighting three main aspects: mental toughness, anxiety, and self-confidence. Bridge athletes often face pressure that can affect their performance, and this study aims to analyze how these psychological factors play a role in achieving achievements. This study uses a Mixed method between quantitative and qualitative methods. The sample consisted of 32 athletes, 3 coaches, 2 administrators of the Jambi Province Female Bridge Athletes. The instruments used were interviews and questionnaires. Initial findings indicate that many athletes experience difficulties in managing emotions and making decisions while competing. Based on the results of the descriptive analysis, the Standard deviation ranged from 0.69025 to 1.32698, indicating a fairly large variation in anxiety assessments among respondents. Overall, these results illustrate that despite the variation, the average level of anxiety of respondents tends to be low, with an overall average value of 68.7500 for the total score. This indicates that respondents are relatively not experiencing high anxiety.

Abstract

Based on the researcher's observations at SMP Negeri 1 Muaro Jambi, particularly among eighth-grade students, it was found that during physical education classes, students' passing skills were not yet optimal. When performing passing movements, the coordination between foot and hand movements was still unbalanced, causing the ball to frequently miss the intended target. Therefore, through this study, the researcher aims to specifically examine the students' skills, with the hope that errors in movement can be evaluated and improved. The purpose of this study is to determine the underhand passing ability in volleyball during extracurricular activities among eighth-grade male students at SMP Negeri 1 Muaro Jambi. This research is a survey study using a quantitative descriptive method, employing tests and measurement techniques to collect data. This approach provides a numerical representation of the research findings, measured precisely. The sample in this study was selected using a total sampling technique, considering various factors mentioned earlier. Thus, the subjects of this research were 12 eighth-grade students participating in extracurricular activities at SMP Negeri 1 Muaro Jambi. Based on data analysis, the results of the underhand passing ability test showed that out of 12 students, 5 students (41.67%) were categorized as "very good" with a score range of >25, while 7 students (58.33%) were categorized as "good" with a score range of 19-24. The conclusion of this study is that the underhand passing ability in volleyball during extracurricular activities among eighth-grade male students at SMP Negeri 1 Muaro Jambi falls into the "good" category, with 7 students (58.33%) scoring within the range of 19-24.

Abstract

The educational system needs to provide comprehensive development opportunities for students beyond classroom learning, with extracurricular activities serving as an important platform for personal growth and skill development. This research aimed to determine students' interest in extracurricular activities, quantify student participation rates, and assess the adequacy of sports facilities and infrastructure at SMP Negeri 21 Batang Hari. This study employed a mixed methods approach, combining quantitative and qualitative methodologies. The research sample consisted of students from grades VII and VIII at SMP Negeri 21 Batang Hari, with data collected through surveys, observations, and facility assessments. The findings revealed that SMP Negeri 21 Batang Hari offers five extracurricular sports programs, with futsal emerging as the most popular choice among both seventh and eighth-grade students. Overall student interest in extracurricular activities was categorized as moderate based on participation metrics and survey responses. The assessment of sports facilities indicated significant inadequacies in available infrastructure to support the full range of extracurricular programming. Student interest in sports extracurricular activities exists at a moderate level, with concentrated interest in futsal, suggesting opportunities for targeted program development while addressing the limitations in sports facilities. The study was limited to a single school environment; future research should explore the relationship between facility adequacy and participation rates across multiple schools, and investigate potential interventions to improve infrastructure support for extracurricular activities.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the forearm pass skill level in volleyball among class VII B students of SMP Negeri 19 Kota Jambi. This study is a quantitative descriptive research using a survey method. The population in this study consisted of 13 students from class VII B of SMP Negeri 19 Kota Jambi. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling. The instrument used was the Brumbach forearm pass wall volley test to measure the forearm pass ability. The data analysis technique used was descriptive analysis with percentages. The results showed that the forearm pass ability of class VII B students at SMP Negeri 19 Kota Jambi was distributed into categories of excellent for 1 student (8%), good for 2 students (15%), average for 3 students (23%), below average for 6 students (46%), and poor for 1 student (8%). Overall, the forearm pass ability of class VII B students at SMP Negeri 19 Kota Jambi fell into the below average category with a mean score of 11.5. This is caused by a lack of mastery of proper forearm pass techniques, the absence of volleyball extracurricular activities at school, and minimal practice outside of school hours.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine how strong the students of SDN 164/I Sridadi Phase C are in terms of physical fitness. Physical fitness is very important to help children learn and develop physically. This study used a quantitative descriptive survey. Phase C students at SDN 164/I Sridadi were selected purposively for the research sample, with a series of Indonesian Student Fitness Tests phase C. With the results of the Child Ball Test, 4 students were classified as Very Good with a presentation of 29%, 6 students were classified as Good with a percentage of 43%, 2 students were classified as Moderate with a percentage of 14%, and 2 students were classified as less with a percentage of 14%, the Tok-Tok Ball Test obtained 5 students classified as Very Good with a presentation of 36%, 7 students were classified as Good with a percentage of 50%, and 2 students were classified as Moderate with a percentage of 14%. The Move The Ball Test obtained 5 students classified as Very Good with a percentage of 14%, 7 students classified as Good with a percentage of 50%, and 2 students classified as Moderate with a percentage of 36%. The Shuttle Run 8 x 10m Test obtained, 10 students classified as Good with a percentage of 71%, and 4 students classified as Moderate with a percentage of 29%. The 600m Run Test obtained, 2 students classified as Very Good with a percentage of 14%, and 12 students classified as Good with a percentage of 86%. Based on the results of the study conducted, students in grades 5 and 6 of SDN 164/I Sridadi, Muara Bulian District, Batanghari Regency, have a good level of physical fitness.

Abstract

Innovative learning media in primary education remains limited, affecting students’ comprehension. Cultural diversity is often taught conventionally, making it less interactive. This study develops a QR Code-based Pop-Up Book as a learning tool combining three-dimensional elements and digital technology. The Research and Development (R&D) method was applied using the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). Experts validated the content, media, and language, while trials were conducted with fifth-grade students at SDN 160/IV Kota Jambi. Results showed high validity scores (91% content, 89% media, 93% language), with 90% practicality and 91.8% attractiveness. The QR Code-based Pop-Up Book effectively enhances students’ understanding and has strong potential for wider use in primary education.

Abstract

Early reading skills are essential for elementary students, yet many struggle due to unengaging methods and limited media support. This study examines the effectiveness of reading board media in improving first graders’ reading abilities. Using Classroom Action Research (CAR) based on the Kemmis & McTaggart model, the research was conducted in two cycles. Data were collected through observations, reading tests, interviews, and documentation, then analyzed qualitatively and quantitatively. Results indicate significant improvement in students' reading skills. The first cycle increased students' interest and participation, while the second cycle enhanced fluency in reading words and simple sentences. The findings confirm that reading board media effectively boosts early reading skills and learning motivation. This interactive approach is recommended as an innovative literacy tool, supported by teacher training, parental involvement, and adequate facilities, to foster a more engaging and effective early reading experience.

Abstract

In the digital era, the world of sports must not be left behind to be able to follow a more sophisticated era. There needs to be a new breakthrough for the development of sports equipment that was originally manual into digital sports equipment that has sophisticated technology. With the development of more sophisticated sports equipment, it can easily achieve success in the field of sports. The high jump number in the athletics branch of sport is the most popular branch of sport. However, currently the high jump equipment used is still manual so it is less effective and efficient considering that the high jump competition requires time effectiveness between athletes. The development of high jump equipment aims to facilitate and make the time required more efficient. The high jump equipment was developed using a node mcu microprocessor. And a microcontroller to adjust the height of the high jump bar. The equipment that has been developed was then tested on 7 high jump athletes. Based on the trial, the results obtained were the percentage of tool effectiveness of 42%, tool safety of only 32%, tool efficiency and economy of 42%, ease of use of 54%, the smallest percentage was obtained by ease of tool placement of only 29%, while the highest percentage was in Long-Term Usefulness (PJJ) of 71%. So that the development of the tool is in the Good category with a percentage of 71%.
