Abstract

Dalam penelitian ini, penulis berupaya merancang sebuah cycloconverter yang berfungsi sebagai konverter AC ke AC dengan kemampuan langsung mengubah frekuensi tegangan masukan. Aplikasi utama cycloconverter tersebut adalah sebagai pengendali untuk motor AC satu fasa. Motor yang digunakan dalam perancangan ini adalah jenis motor universal yang umumnya digunakan pada mesin jahit. Pengendalian motor menggunakan mikrokontroler ATMega16 yang berperan sebagai pusat kontrol untuk rangkaian daya. Sistem ini terdapat LCD, tombol pemicu, serta rangkaian daya cycloconverter guna menjalankan motor tersebut.Berdasarkan hasil perancangan dan pengujian, dapat diambil kesimpulan mengenai penggunaan cycloconverter sebagai optimasi kinerja motor AC 1 Fasa sebagai berikut; (1.) Dalam perancangan pengendali motor AC satu fasa menggunakan cycloconverter, dilakukan perancangan sistem, perangkat keras, dan perangkat lunak. (2.) Perancangan sistem meliputi pembuatan rangkaian modul LCD, detektor pelintas nol, tombol pemicu,  rangkaian daya SCR, dan rangkaian isolasi optocoupler. (3.) Pengujian dilakukan secara per blok maupun secara keseluruhan pada cycloconverter yang dirancang. (4.) Cycloconverter sebagai optimasi kinerja motor AC satu Fasa berhasil dibuat dengan menggunakan mikrokontroler ATMega16 sebagai kontrol, LCD untuk tampilan, tombol pemicu untuk masukan data, rangkaian isolasi optocoupler untuk pemisah antara blok logika dan blok daya, serta rangkaian daya SCR untuk pengendali motor AC satu fasa.

Abstract

The collaboration between PPI Taipei and UM aims to equip migrant workers in Taiwan with digital marketing skills that are essential in the global era. The challenges of fierce competition in the job market demand an understanding of business technology. However, limited access and resources are obstacles for them to acquire these skills. To address this, "Smart Apps" was created specifically to help migrant workers and Muslim students in Taiwan. The main objective of this activity is to provide quality digital marketing training for migrant workers in Taiwan through the "Smart Apps" application. It is hoped that an understanding of digital marketing strategies will provide independence to migrant workers in finding job opportunities and making a positive contribution to Taiwan's economy. This overseas service activity is designed using an implementative method, starting from the design and implementation of applications in Taipei city. Random participation from PPI Taipei students, migrant workers, and travelers will be involved in the training and application development process.Kolaborasi antara Perhimpunan Pelajar Indonesia (PPI) Taipei dan Universitas Negeri Malang (UM) bertujuan membekali buruh migran di Taiwan dengan keterampilan digital marketing yang penting dalam era global. Tantangan persaingan ketat di pasar kerja menuntut pemahaman akan teknologi bisnis. Namun, keterbatasan akses dan sumber daya menjadi hambatan bagi mereka dalam memperoleh keterampilan tersebut. Untuk mengatasi hal ini, diciptakan aplikasi "Smart Apps" yang secara khusus ditujukan untuk membantu buruh migran dan pelajar Muslim di Taiwan. Tujuan utama kegiatan ini adalah memberikan pelatihan digital marketing yang berkualitas bagi buruh migran di Taiwan melalui aplikasi "Smart Apps". Diharapkan, pemahaman tentang strategi digital marketing akan memberikan kemandirian kepada para buruh migran dalam mencari peluang kerja serta memberi kontribusi positif pada ekonomi Taiwan. Kegiatan pengabdian luar negeri ini dirancang menggunakan metode implementatif, dimulai dari perancangan dan implementasi aplikasi di kota Taipei. Partisipasi secara acak dari pelajar PPI Taipei, buruh migran, dan pelancong akan terlibat dalam proses pelatihan dan pengembangan aplikasi. Berdasarkan hasil pengabdian, program pelatihan digital marketing untuk buruh migran Indonesia di Taiwan yang diselenggarakan melalui kolaborasi antara Universitas Negeri Malang dan PPI Taipei berhasil meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan peserta dalam pemasaran digital, mengembangkan aplikasi "Smart Apps" untuk membantu mencari informasi restoran halal, serta menunjukkan sinergi positif antara universitas dan organisasi mahasiswa dalam memberikan kontribusi kepada masyarakat.

Abstract

Forecasting irradiation and temperature is important for designing photovoltaic systems because these two factors have a significant impact on system performance. Irradiation refers to the amount of solar radiation that reaches the earth's surface, and directly affects the amount of energy that can be generated by a photovoltaic system. Therefore, accurate irradiation forecasting is essential for estimating the amount of energy a photovoltaic system can produce, and can assist in determining the appropriate system size, configuration, and orientation to maximize energy output. Temperature also plays an important role in the performance of a photovoltaic system. With increasing temperature, the efficiency of the solar cell decreases, which means that the energy output of the system also decreases. Therefore, accurate temperature forecasts are essential for estimating system energy output, selecting suitable materials, and designing effective cooling systems to prevent overheating. In summary, forecasting irradiation and temperature is important for designing photovoltaic systems as it helps in determining suitable system size, configuration, orientation, material selection, and cooling system, which ultimately results in higher energy output and better system performance. In recent decades, many forecasting models have been built on the idea of fuzzy time series. There are several forecasting models proposed by integrating fuzzy time series with heuristic or evolutionary algorithms such as genetic algorithms, but the results are not satisfactory. To improve forecasting accuracy, a new hybrid forecasting model combines fish swarm optimization algorithm with fuzzy time series. The results of irradiance prediction/forecasting with the smallest error are using the type of Fuzzy Time Series prediction model optimized with FSOA with RMSE is 0.83832.

Abstract

Indonesia has set a target to achieve a 23 % share of new and renewable energy (NRE) in its national energy mix by 2025. Sulawesi island has significant wind and solar energy potential, but the integration of these variable renewable energy (VRE) sources, such as solar photovoltaic (PV) and wind turbines (WT), poses challenges due to their fluctuating output. The aim of this study is to analyze the impact of battery energy storage systems (BESS) in reducing the intermittency of solar power generation and improving grid stability in North Sulawesi and Gorontalo. The study uses a combination of various technical simulations to assess the performance of BESS in stabilizing voltage and frequency fluctuations within the electricity system. The approach includes power flow analysis, transient stability testing, and short-circuit studies, with and without the integration of BESS. The results show that implementing a 10 MW/5 MWh BESS can significantly reduce frequency deviations, limiting frequency drops to 49.82 Hz during disturbances, compared to 49.67 Hz without BESS. In addition, BESS helps maintain voltage stability at critical substations by reducing voltage fluctuations by up to 40 %. This research demonstrates that BESS integration can enable a more stable and reliable grid, supporting the development of renewable energy without compromising power quality.

Abstract

Pada penelitian ini, desain sistem jaringan DC mempertimbangkan beberapa hal, yaitu desain jaringan DC, kemiringan dan azimuth PV, penentuan pemasangan kabel instalasi, efisiensi, dan jatuh tegangan. Pada penelitian ini juga disajikan bentuk gelombang tegangan dan arus pada perubahan beban, kondisi on grid, dan off grid. Desain awal ini dibantu dengan aplikasi Matlab/Simulink untuk mensimulasikan dan menganalisa bagaimana kinerja dari DC microgrid. Penerapan DC grid pada sistem microgrid dengan beban rumah tangga memiliki efisiensi rata-rata yang tinggi yaitu mencapai 98,48%. Efisiensi sistem DC grid dipengaruhi oleh jumlah beban yang disuplai, resistansi kabel, dan konverter. Sistem jaringan DC juga akan mengurangi konversi AC ke DC atau sebaliknya sehingga memiliki efisiensi yang tinggi. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian ini, dapat dilihat bahwa jaringan DC dapat menjadi alternatif yang menjanjikan dalam aplikasi perumahan di daerah terpencil. Penelitian ini dapat menjadi bahan pertimbangan untuk pengembangan sistem DC di daerah terpencil di masa depan. Dengan mempertimbangkan potensi sumber daya dan efisiensi jaringan yang tinggi, diharapkan dapat membantu daerah-daerah terpencil untuk mendapatkan listrik.

Abstract

In the six years from 2010 to 2015, the peak load in the East Java region increased by an average of 284MW per year. Karangkates Substation is part of an interconnected electrical system that supplies Java Island. To ensure a high level of reliability in its service, it is necessary to prepare for load growth to make sure that it does not exceed its ideal conditions, therefore special analysis of transformer capacity is needed. Using the Holt-Winters (HW) method as a reference for processing the data can be used as a reference in planning and anticipating the growing electricity demand. The results of this study are with the accuracy of the HW method with mean absolute percentage error (MAPE) = 2.645%, while the accuracy of the fuzzy time series (FTS) method = 6.399%. A forecast result done with HW methods shows the transformer at the substation Karangkates reached its normal working capacity in March 2018 at 99.583% of installed capacity and exceeded the maximum capacity in April 2018 at 101.493% of installed capacity.

Abstract

The depletion of fossil fuels has driven significant changes in the global electricity system. Solar Power Plants (PLTS) as a renewable energy source have shown the potential to contribute up to 25% of global electricity generation by 2050. The electricity system often experiences disturbances that can affect its performance and reliability. This study examines the performance of a 1.2 kW hybrid PV system under various load conditions. The system was tested with load variations of 2%, 7%, 22%, and 26% to assess its efficiency and performance. Despite a slight voltage drop of 4V Vac (-1.82%) at higher loads, the hybrid PV system consistently maintained a voltage range of 216-220V Vac, which meets the standard requirements. The system demonstrated high efficiency, averaging over 95%, with a peak efficiency reaching 98.5% at 2% load. These results confirm the effectiveness, safety, and reliability of the system under various load conditions. The findings are based on direct testing and measurements of a 1.2 kW hybrid PV system to evaluate the impact of load variations on its performance. The 1.2 kW hybrid PV system has been proven to be effective, safe and reliable in the face of load variations. These findings support the potential implementation of hybrid PV systems as a future renewable energy solution in the electricity sector

Abstract

At present the installation of PLTS in households is one of the government programs as stated in the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources regulation No.49 of 2018 which contains permits for PLTS installation, independent electricity production and electricity export to PLN. Therefore, a Final Project was created with the title "Design of On-Grid PLTS as a Support for Household-Scale Electrical Power". In this Final Project a 200W On-Grid PLTS has been designed for households with 900 VA electric power. This has been adjusted to PLN rules where the maximum limit for PLTS installation is 100 percent of the connected power. The installation of PLTS On-Grid is expected to save electricity costs by up to 20 percent of normal bills every month. The method used in the design of this On-Grid PLTS uses design and experimentation. The design used online software, namely onshape, while the experiment was carried out for 7 days where data was collected for 6 hours every day in hot, cloudy and drizzly weather, the data taken was adjusted to several parameters such as solar irradiation, light intensity, temperature, voltage, current and power. The measurement results show that the amount of voltage and current generated by the PLTS system decreases as the light intensity decreases. The maximum power that can be produced by PLTS in hot weather is 156W, when the weather is cloudy the maximum power is 73,728W, while the maximum power generated by PLTS in drizzly weather is 24,706W. From the test results, it was also found that the efficiency of the On-Grid PLTS was 16.5% where this system can help meet household load power that is used for approximately 6 hours during the day. In addition, the Root Mean Square Error value for measuring the dc output is 13.13 and the ac output is 14.4. Meanwhile, the BEP (Break Even Point) value or breakeven point for the construction of the On Grid PLTS system with a performance ratio of 93% will be obtained for approximately 9.1 years.

Abstract

Ada beberapa cara untuk mengatur kecepatan motor DC dan AC serta menghindari arus pengasutan yang terlalu tinggi, seperti menggunakan peralatan mekanis atau elektronik yang terkoneksi dengan motor tersebut. Sebuah teknik yang populer dikembangkan adalah inverter dengan modulasi lebar pulsa (PWM) karena efisiensi dayanya yang tinggi, mampu mengurangi kerugian harmonik, menghasilkan gerakan yang halus pada motor induksi, serta memiliki jangkauan operasi kecepatan yang luas. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membuat dan membangun inverter SPWM dengan kontrol ATmega 8, yang akan digunakan untuk mengatur kecepatan motor AC secara lebih akurat. Rangkaian inverter ini didesain agar ringkas, sehingga hanya mengandalkan ragam chip tunggal pada minimum sistem mikrokontroler. Sinyal PWM sinusoida akan dibangkitkan menggunakan perhitungan lebar pulsa pada port timer OCR1A dan OCR1B flash memori mikrokontroler. Dari hasil pengamatan, dapat disimpulkan bahwa desain pembangkit SPWM berhasil beroperasi dengan baik, dengan sinyal SPWM yang menghasilkan 126 pulsa pada setiap setengah periode dan jangkauan frekuensi antara 20-100 Hz dengan peningkatan dan penurunan setiap 10 Hz.

Abstract

Dalam dunia industri UMKM, kemasan botol menjadi elemen vital yang memerlukan sterilisasi dan pembersihan untuk menghindari kontaminasi bakteri. Untuk mengatasi masalah ini, dikembangkanlah mesin sterilisasi botol menggunakan sinar UV berbasis IoT yang dirancang untuk membantu UMKM meningkatkan efisiensi dan kualitas produk mereka. Proses pengembangan mesin ini melibatkan beberapa metode, termasuk analisis kebutuhan, perancangan, pelatihan, dan pengujian menyeluruh. Mesin ini menggunakan sinar UV untuk membunuh bakteri dan mikroorganisme lainnya secara efektif. Hasil pengujian menunjukkan bahwa mesin ini memiliki akurasi tinggi dalam monitoring daya, dengan tingkat akurasi lebih dari 95% pada mode sterilisasi dan 98% pada mode dryer. Hal ini membuktikan keandalan sistem dalam menjaga kinerja yang optimal. Teknologi IoT yang terintegrasi memungkinkan pemantauan dan pengendalian mesin secara real-time, memberikan kemudahan bagi pengguna dalam mengoperasikan dan memelihara mesin. Dengan adanya mesin sterilisasi berbasis IoT ini, UMKM dapat menghemat waktu dan tenaga, sambil tetap menjaga kualitas produk mereka. Selain itu, penggunaan teknologi ini juga dapat meningkatkan kepercayaan konsumen terhadap produk yang dihasilkan, serta memperkuat daya saing produk di pasaran. Implementasi mesin sterilisasi berbasis IoT ini diharapkan mampu memberikan solusi efektif bagi UMKM dalam menghadapi tantangan produksi yang lebih bersih, efisien, dan aman.
