Abstract

Waduk Koto Panjang telah terkontaminasi mikroplastik yang telah ditemukan pada badan air dan pada beberapa ikan yang tergolong ikan besar pada penelitian sebelumnya. Hal ini memungkinkan mikroplastik juga dapat tertelan pada ikan kecil, seperti ikan guppy. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui jumlah tipe dan kelimpahan mikroplastik di usus dan lambung ikan guppy dan mengetahui adanya perbedaan jumlah tipe dan kelimpahan mikroplastik pada tiga stasiun penelitian di Waduk Koto Panjang. Penelitian dilakukan pada Maret sampai Mei 2024 di perairan Waduk PLTA Koto Panjang dan Laboratorium Ekologi Perairan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tipe mikroplastik yang teridentifikasi adalah film, fiber, fragment, foam, pellet dan granual. Kelimpahan mikroplastik paling tinggi di stasiun 3 pada lambung ikan guppy tipe film berkisar 4,44 partikel/individu. Kelimpahan mikroplastik yang tinggi berdasarkan kelas ukuran yaitu pada kelas ukuran 2,9-4,4 cm.

Abstract

Artifisial habitat apung merupakan suatu bangunan yang tersusun dari benda padat yang ditempatkan di dalam perairan dan menciptakan habitat baru bagi ikan, termasuk sebagai tempat perkembangbiakan dan perlindungan bagi telur dan larva ikan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui keragaman jenis ikan yang tertangkap dalam artifisial habitat apung yang telah dilaksanakan pada bulan Juli – Agustus 2023. Pengambilan sampel ikan dilakukan melalui penangkapan ikan bersama nelayan setempat dengan menggunakan alat tangkap yaitu bubu. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ikan yang tertangkap terdiri dari 9 spesies dikelompokkan kedalam 6 famili. Kelimpahan ikan dilakukan dengan menggunakan Uji T (Uji Independent Sample T-Test). Hasil uji statistik independent sample t-test menunjukkan t hitung < t tabel (0,025;16) adalah 2,119 sehingga H0 diterima. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa tidak terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan rata-rata kelimpahan ikan pada masing-masing atraktor. Nilai indeks keanekaragaman (H’) 1,529-2,908, indeks keseragaman (E) 0,696-0,955 dan indeks dominasi (C) 0,096 – 0,645. Nilai ekologi tersebut diuji dengan menggunakan Uji T (independent sample t-test) yang menunjukkan t hitung< t tabel (0,025;4) adalah 2,776 sehingga H0 diterima. Hal ini berarti menunjukkan bahwa tidak ada perbedaan yang signifikan pada indeks ekologi masing-masing atraktor artifisial habitat apung. Kondisi kualitas perairan di Waduk Koto Panjang menunjukkan bahwa suhu 29–31,2°C, kecerahan 132 – 140 cm, oksigen terlarut (DO) 6,46 – 6,70 mg/L, karbondioksida (CO2) bebas 5 – 5,99 mg/L, dan derajat keasaman (pH) 6,52-6,70. Data tersebut menunjukkan bahwa keragaman jenis ikan yang tertangkap dalam artifisial habitat apung di Waduk Koto Panjang tergolong sedang, yang berarti habitatnya masih dalam keadaan optimal dan masih sesuai untuk peruntukan biota.

Abstract

Limbah cair tahu mengandung bahan-bahan organik yang tinggi terutama protein dan asam-asam amino. Senyawa- senyawa organik tersebut dapat berupa protein, karbohidrat dan lemak. Bakteri sebagian besar mampu memanfaatkan minyak atau lemak sebagai sumber karbon dan energinya, bakteri yang mempunyai kemampuan tersebut sering dikenal sebagai bakteri lipolitik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendapatkan bakteri penghasil biosurfaktan dari limbah cair tahu. Penelitian ini dilakukan dari bulan Juli – September 2020. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode survei dan metode emulsifikasi. Media yang digunakan untuk isolasi bakteri adalah Tryptic Soy Broth (TSB) dan Tryptic Soy Agar (TSA). 6 isolat bakteri yang dapat menghasilkan biosurfaktan. Karakteristik morfologi dan biokimia menunjukkan enam genus bakteri, yaitu Genus Agrobacterium, Proteus, Proteus Citrobacter, Enterobacter, dan Serratia. Bakteri yang didapat merupakan bakteri yang berpotensi mendegradasi minyak di lingkungan yang tercemar

Abstract

This research aims to determine the type and abundance of microplastics in the digestive tract of Clupeichthys goniognathus in the Koto Panjang Reservoir. This research was carried out from December 2023 – February 2024 in West Koto Tuo Village. Sampling was carried out by purposive sampling from the catch by fishermen. Sample analysis and microplastic identification were conducted at the Waste Processing Laboratory, Faculty of Fisheries and Marine, Universitas Riau. The research results show that the microplastics identified in the digestive tract of C. goniognathus are fiber, film, and fragment types. The most common type found was film-type microplastics with an abundance of 35% or 119 particles.

Abstract

An artificial habitat comprises a series of structures or attractor media as a habitat for aquatic biota in the waters. This study aims to determine the best attractor media viewed from the abundance of periphyton found in artificial habitats. This research was conducted in July - August 2023 using the experimental method. Periphyton sampling was done four times with an interval of one week and then identified based on the reference identification book. Water quality parameters measured were temperature, brightness, pH, Dissolved Oxygen, nitrate, and phosphate. The data obtained were statistically analyzed using a two-way ANOVA and BNt tests in MS. Excel 2020. The results showed that there were 17 species of periphyton found, consisting of 5 classes, namely Bacillariophyceae (8 species), Zygnematophyceae (4 species), Chlorophyceae (3 species), Cyanophyceae (1 species), and Trebouxiophyceae (1 species). The total abundance of periphyton obtained ranged from 13.448 – 21.406 cells/cm2, and the highest is on plastic bottle attractors ranging from 3.232 – 8.318 cells/cm2. The type of periphyton found mostly was Navicula sp. (6.602 cells/cm2). Based on the periphyton abundance, it can be concluded that the best attractor for periphyton media is the used plastic bottle.

Abstract

Bukit Batu River in Bengkalis Regency plays a vital role as a water source for domestic use, irrigation, industry, and transportation. However, increasing domestic and industrial activities have significantly contributed to water pollution. This study aims to analyze the current water quality and socio-economic activities, assess water quality status and pollution load, and formulate pollution control strategies. The research employed field observations, laboratory testing of physical, chemical, and biological water parameters, and SWOT analysis. Results show that parameters such as COD and ammonia exceeded Class II quality standards, indicating a moderately polluted condition. The primary pollution sources include domestic waste, agriculture, and industry. Pollution control strategies were developed based on strengths and opportunities, such as community awareness and active involvement of local government. The study concludes that multi-sector collaboration, environmental education, and improved waste management are essential to reducing pollution loads and preserving the sustainability of the Bukit Batu River's functions.

Abstract

The Sosa River in Padang Lawas, North Sumatra, is facing pollution from domestic waste and industrial activities. Its water quality has declined, with a Water Quality Index of 58.75% in 2022, indicating a moderate condition. The community directly disposes of waste into the river, exacerbating the ecosystem's deterioration. This study aims to evaluate and analyze the water quality conditions of the Sosa River and the social and economic activities of the Padang Lawas community, determine the pollution load and water quality status. he existing condition of the Sosa River water quality still has several parameters that exceed the quality standards in accordance with applicable regulations. The Sosa River water quality status at the research location is classified as meeting quality standards to moderately polluted. The location that has a moderate pollutant index is point 2 of the Sosa River tributary  (representing the outfall of the Sosa River tributary in Aliaga Village). while other research locations are classified as lightly polluted and some meet quality standards.

Abstract

Limbah sludge dari industri minyak bumi menimbulkan masalah lingkungan akibat penimbunan. Inovasi diperlukan untuk mengubahnya menjadi pupuk kompos bernilai ekonomi, dengan memanfaatkan kulit nanas sebagai sumber nutrisi dan pendegradasi polutan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui potensi sludge sebagai pengganti tanah dalam kompos berbasis kulit nanas, dengan parameter pH dan suhu sesuai SNI. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif-deskriptif dengan 12 komposter (4 perlakuan rasio sludge-tanah: 0:8, 2:6, 4:4, 6:2 kg) selama 12 minggu. Data pH dan suhu dianalisis dengan regresi linear. Semua komposter memenuhi standar pH (SNI 7763:2018) pada minggu ke-8 dan ke-12, serta suhu (SNI 19-7030-2004) pada minggu ke-4, -8, dan -12. Sludge mempercepat kenaikan pH dan menstabilkan suhu. Penelitian membuktikan sludge minyak bumi dapat dijadikan bahan kompos ramah lingkungan, dengan rekomendasi optimasi komposisi, uji logam berat, dan integrasi teknologi seperti vermicomposting untuk penelitian selanjutnya.
