Abstract

In the Koto Panjang Reservoir, the microplastic may originate from the degraded plastic waste as well as degraded plastic net from the fish culturing cages. The microplastic may be accidentally ingulfed as fish swallowing their food. To understand the presence of microplastic present in the stomach of wild common carps living around the fish net cage, a study was conducted in December 2020-February 2021. The fish were captured using fish net (3-5 inc mesh size), 3 times, once/ 2 weeks. The fish stomach was removed and the presence of the microplastic was identified. The stomach content of the fish was mixed with 10% KOH (minimum 3 x of stomach content volume) and was incubated for2 weeks to dilute the organic materials. Then the presence of microplastic was observed using a binocular microscope. Types and abundance of the microplastic was noted. Results shown that the types of microplastic present were films, fibers and fragments. The highest type of microplastic found in the stomach of the fish was films (2.3 particles/ fish), followed by fibers (0.6 particles/fish) and fragments (1.1 particles/ fish).

Abstract

Plastic waste can be found everywhere, including in the Koto Panjang Dam. As the plastic waste degraded, the microplastic materials may be distributed in the water and it may be accidentally swallowed by omnivorous fishes such as Puntius schawanafeldii. To understand the presence of the microplastic materials in the fish stomach, a research has been conducted in December 2020 - February 2021. The number of P. schawanafeldii captured was 30 using fish net in 3-5 inch mesh size. The fish was dissected and the stomach was removed. Then the stomach content was added with 10% KOH and was incubated for 2 weeks to delute the organic materials. Then was investigated under a binocular microscope to find out the microplastic materials. Results shown the type of microplastic present in the stomach of P. schawanafeldii was namely film, fibre, and fragment. The most common type of microplastic found was film, followed by fragments and fibre. The abundance of microplastic in the stomach of P. schwanafeldii was around 2 – 15,8 particles/fish.

Abstract

Microplastics are small pieces of plastic that can pollute the environment. This study aims to determine the types of microplastics in the digestion of freshwater kijing based on different stocking densities and water depths. This research was carried out from February to April 2024. Using the experimental method with a one-factor Group Random Design. Sampling of the kijing was observed after 2 weeks of laying according to the specified depth, and then the abundance of microplastics in the digestion of freshwater kijing was examined. Water quality parameters are measured by temperature, brightness, and pH. The study found five microplastic types: fiber, fragments, films, granules, and pellets. The most common type of microplastic found at all three different depths is the type of film. The microplastic abundance found at all three depths in order is 5.2, 5,4 and 6 particles/ind. From the ANOVA results, the depth has a p-value of 0.00850, which means that the p-value > 0.005 does not show any difference between depth data. While the p-value of the treatment is 0.00084, this means that the p-value of <0.005 is the difference between the treatment data. Treatments consisting of 1kg, 2kg, and 3kg had different abundance data in each treatment. This means that there are significantly different results by the treatment of microplastic abundance data in freshwater mussel

Abstract

The Kampar River has enormous benefits for people's lives, including the availability of non-renewable resources such as sand and stone, which are utilized without permission as raw materials for building. The high demand for river sand and stone and modern sand mining technology exacerbate environmental impacts, especially the width of the Kampar River. This study was conducted to determine the impact of changes in river width caused by illegal sand and stone mining activities in the Kampar River. This research uses a quantitative approach with direct observation methods, interviews, and literature studies. This research was conducted from May to August 2024 in Padang Luas Village, Terantang Village, Parit Baru Village, and Kualu Village, Tambang District, Kampar Regency. The results of this study indicate that illegal sand and stone mining activities in the Kampar River cause significant widening of the river, in addition to increasing turbidity and siltation of the river due to cliff collapse. The impact of changes in river width is worst in Parit Baru Village, which has the most mining locations compared to the other three villages. The highest turbidity value is found at station 3, and the shallowest river depth is at station 2. Illegal sand and stone mining has a real negative impact on the environment, especially on the physical condition of the Kampar River, which is marked by the siltation and widening of the river from year to year.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the types of fish caught in Lake Sepunjung and in the Artificial Habitat equipment at Lake Sepunjung, Rantau Baru Village, Pangkalan Kerinci, Pelalawan, Riau Province. This research was conducted in January-March 2024 in Lake Sepunjung, Rantau Baru Village, Pangkalan Kerinci, Pelalawan, Riau. This research used a survey method to obtain primary data from water quality measurements and fish caught. Sampling was carried out every 2 weeks for 3 months. The results of this research obtained the value of the composition of the most common type of fish, namely the Oxgaster anomalura, with the highest percentage of 44.13%, and in Artificial Habitat, namely Ompok hypothalamus fish, with the highest percentage of 28%. The value of the diversity index (H') in Lake Sepunjung is 2.95 (moderate), and the value in Artificial Habitat is 2.83 (moderate). The value of the uniformity index (E) in Lake Sepunjung is 0.622 (low), and the value in Artificial Habitat is 0.894 (low). The value of the dominance index (C) obtained in Lake Sepunjung, namely 0.233 (low), and the value in Artificial Habitat, namely 0.165 (low)

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menentukan estimasi ketidakpastian pengukuran pH air gambut yang telah dijernihkan menggunakan campuran kapur, bentonit, dan PAC, serta memastikan validitas hasil pengukuran sesuai standar ISO/IEC 17025:2017. Metode yang digunakan adalah pendekatan kuantitatif dengan teknik pembacaan langsung (direct reading) menggunakan pH meter yang telah dikalibrasi dengan larutan penyangga bersertifikat (CRM pH 4, pH 7, dan pH 10). Pengukuran dilakukan sebanyak tujuh kali untuk memperoleh nilai rerata dan simpangan baku, yang kemudian digunakan untuk menghitung ketidakpastian dari berbagai sumber: larutan penyangga, resolusi alat, dan presisi metode. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa nilai pH air gambut setelah perlakuan adalah 7,6 dengan ketidakpastian gabungan sebesar 0,02177 dan ketidakpastian diperluas sebesar 0,0435. Nilai ini berada dalam batas keberterimaan alat ukur dan sesuai dengan Permenkes No. 32 Tahun 2017. Implikasi dari penelitian ini menegaskan pentingnya evaluasi ketidakpastian dalam pengujian laboratorium untuk menjamin akurasi dan akuntabilitas data, serta mendukung pengembangan teknologi penjernihan air gambut berbasis sumber lokal yang relevan untuk wilayah tropis seperti Kalimantan dan Sumatera.

Abstract

Air bersih merupakan kebutuhan dasar yang mutlak diperlukan untuk menunjang kehidupan manusia. Perumda Air Minum Tirta Terubuk yang beroperasi di Kecamatan Bengkalis memiliki peran penting dalam menyediakan air minum bagi masyarakat setempat. Namun, kualitas air yang dihasilkan menghadapi berbagai tantangan, terutama akibat kondisi tanah gambut yang menyebabkan tingginya kadar zat organik dan keasaman air. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi kondisi eksisting sistem pengolahan, distribusi, serta kualitas air minum; menganalisis dampak penyediaan air bersih terhadap konsumen; serta merumuskan strategi pengelolaan kualitas air di Perumda Air Minum Tirta Terubuk. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif melalui survei, observasi lapangan, serta uji laboratorium terhadap parameter fisik, kimia, dan mikrobiologis (pH, kekeruhan, TDS, Total Coliform, dan E. coli). Analisis data dilakukan secara deskriptif dan SWOT untuk menyusun strategi pengelolaan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa meskipun sistem pengolahan menggunakan metode konvensional (koagulasi, flokulasi, sedimentasi, filtrasi, dan desinfeksi), masih terdapat parameter kualitas air yang tidak memenuhi baku mutu, khususnya kandungan mikrobiologis. Strategi pengelolaan diarahkan untuk memperkuat aspek teknologi pengolahan, meningkatkan monitoring kualitas air, dan mengoptimalkan kerja sama lintas sektor. Penelitian ini memberikan rekomendasi strategis untuk perbaikan kualitas layanan air minum di Pulau Bengkalis

Abstract

Inovasi teknologi pengering berbasis energi limbah biomassa telah berkembang untuk meningkatkan pengolahan aneka kerupuk di Kecamatan Binawidya, Kota Pekanbaru. Dengan penerapan teknologi Internet of Things (IoT) ramah lingkungan, pelatihan kewirausahaan IPTEKS bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kualitas dan kuantitas produk kerupuk. Permasalahan yang dihadapi mitra mencakup kurangnya pengetahuan teknologi modern, manajemen usaha yang lemah, dan persaingan pasar yang ketat. Solusi yang ditawarkan meliputi penerapan teknologi modern dalam produksi dan pelatihan manajemen usaha. Metode pelaksanaan terdiri dari identifikasi kebutuhan, pengadaan alat, dan pendampingan pasca-pelatihan. Evaluasi dilakukan secara formatif dan sumatif untuk menilai dampak program. Alat inovasi yang dirancang untuk pengolahan kerupuk mencakup komponen penyimpanan energi, cerobong, dan rak pengolahan yang mengoptimalkan proses produksi. Kegiatan pemberdayaan pelaku Usaha Kecil dan Menengah (UKM) dalam industri kerupuk diharapkan dapat meningkatkan daya saing produk di pasar. Melalui program pelatihan dan pendampingan, sebanyak 5  peserta dari anggota UKM telah dilibatkan dalam kegiatan ini. Hasil dari pelaksanaan program menunjukkan peningkatan rata-rata produksi kerupuk meningkat dari 100 kilogram per bulan menjadi 150 kilogram per bulan, atau meningkat sebesar 50%.

Abstract

This study explores an innovation based on IoT and biomass energy for the efficient production of processed food, specifically crackers. Biomass energy, derived from plant materials, is utilized to generate heat in the processing room. This innovation significantly reduces the processing time for crackers to just 2 hours, compared to the conventional method that requires 2 days of sun-drying. The biomass energy source used in this study includes rambutan tree trunks, which not only provide efficient heat but also impart a pleasant aroma to the final product. The research employs a direct experimental method to design and implement this technology in industrial settings. The primary ingredient for the crackers is cassava, mixed with fish, shrimp, and jengkol. The heat energy generated from the combustion of rambutan tree trunks is effectively utilized in the combustion chamber. Observations indicate that the crackers produced are of high quality, with appealing color and fragrance, making them suitable for market distribution. This innovation demonstrates the potential of combining IoT and biomass energy to enhance food processing efficiency and product quality.

Abstract

Penelitian yang dilakukan pada petani kelapa sawit di Desa Pauh, Kecamatan Bonai Darussallam, Kabupaten Rokan Hulu, Riau ini ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui biaya produksi, penerimaan, pendapatan dan rasio penerimaan dan biaya pada petani kelapa sawit yang menggunakan pupuk organik Liboganik. Penelitian dilaksanakan dari Januari hingga Maret 2024. Jumlah sampel sebanyak 63 diambil dari populasi 102 dan teknik pengambilan sampel yang digunakan adalah metode random sampling. Penelitian ini mengumpulkan data primer dan sekunder. Analisis data dilakukan untuk menghitung biaya, penerimaan, pendapatan, dan R/C ratio. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan rata-rata biaya produksi untuk usahatani kelapa sawit sebesar Rp 1.992.063 /bulan/ha dengan pendapatan kotor sebesar Rp 5,719,048 /bulan/ha. Rata-rata pendapatan bersih usahatani kelapa sawit sebesar Rp 3.726.984 / bulan / ha. Usahatani kelapa sawit di Desa Pauh, Kecamatan Bonai Darusallam secara ekonomi menguntungkan berdasarkan nilai rasio R/C sebesar 2,87 atau lebih besar dari 1. Hal ini berarti bahwa untuk setiap tambahan Rp1.000,00 biaya yang dikeluarkan oleh petani akan menghasilkan pendapatan sebesar Rp2.870,00. Upaya meningkatkan ekonomi usahatani dapat dilakukan melalui penghematan biaya dengan membeli pupuk organik yang lebih murah, penggunaan pupuk organik Liboganik khusus lahan gambut, menghindari penggunakan pupuk kimia, peningkatan SDM dan pembukaan kantor distribusi di wilayah yang dekat dengan petani seperti di Taluk Kuantan dan Medan.
