Abstract

The waters south of the island of Lombok, Nusa Tenggara Province, are the location for lobster seed production. To maintain the sustainability of lobster seed resources, research is needed to know the distribution of Sea Surface Temperature (SST), chlorophyll-a and lobster seed catch and analyze the relationship between SST and chlorophyll-a on lobster seed catches. The research method used is a descriptive method that describes the state of SST and chlorophyll-a associated with the catch of seeds. Lobster seed catch data was obtained from the 2009-2013 lobster seed census, SST data and chlorophyll-a concentrations from 2009 - 2013 from the Aqua Modis satellite. The results showed that the distribution of sea surface temperature (SST) and chlorophyll-a in the Southern Waters of Lombok Island varied every season, with SST and high chlorophyll-a concentrations generally found in coastal waters and the concentration was decreasing towards the offshore direction. SPL and chlorophyll-a variables simultaneously had a significant effect on the CPUE of lobster seeds and partially SPL had no significant effect on the CPUE of lobster seeds, while chlorophyll-a had a significant effect.

Abstract

Fish is a food of high quality and is very beneficial for the health of the body. The various benefits of fish meat will only be obtained if the fish consumed is fresh. In conditions that are not fresh (rotten), the nutritional content in fish meat is damaged. One of the efforts that can be done so that the consumption of fresh fish can be carried out continuously is to carry out urban farming activities, namely the cultivation of fish in buckets (budikdamber). This community service activity aims to increase knowledge and provide technical guidance to partners involved in the application of bucket fish cultivation technology. This community service activity is carried out through various methods of structured activities, namely site surveys, preparation of socialization materials and technical guidance for activities, formation of technology models, technical implementation assistance, and evaluation. The activity was carried out in "Jangkar Ampenan" youth group located in Tangsi neighborhood, South Ampenan District, Mataram City. The materials presented during the activity included preparation (tools, materials, work methods), technical assembly of fish farming equipment, feeding management, water quality management, and harvest management. The tools and materials needed in this activity include a 150 liter capacity bucket, catfish measuring 5-7 g/head, commercial catfish feed, kale seedlings, pipes, wire, 200 ml plastic cups, drill and grinder, seser, and aerator. . Based on the activities that have been carried out, the conclusion of this community service activity is that information, knowledge, and technical guidance have been conveyed to partners about fish farming technology in buckets (budikdamber).

Abstract

Intensive shrimp farming was found many disease problems such as bacteria, viruses, or the presence of co-infection. One of the diseases was caused by viruses and often a major problem in the shrimp farming system was IMNV (Infectious Myonecrosis Virus). Bioflok technology was one alternative that can be done to overcome the problem of cultivation waste. Even able to provide more benefits because in addition to reducing inorganic nitrogen waste, can also provide additional feed for fish cultivation so as to improve the growth and efficiency of feed. The addition of probiotics in biofloc was also expected to improve the growth performance of white shrimp. This study was aimed to evaluate the use of bioflock combined with probiotics on the growth performance of vaname shrimp (Litopenaeus vannamei). This research will be conducted for 5 months. The treatment provided is the addition of commercial probiotics in culture medium with biofloc system and fermented pellet feed with various commercial probiotics, ie probiotics I + biofloc (1), probiotics II + biofloc (2), probiotics III + biofloc (3), positive control (biofloc culture medium and without the addition of commercial probiotics) (4), and negative control (without probiotics + without biofloc) (5). The results obtained for growth performance ie on treatment 2 with 80% of survival rate, the value of daily growth rate of 4.9 and the value of feed conversion ratio of 1.41.

Abstract

Vibriosis is a type of shrimp disease caused by Vibrio sp. In the disease control of consumption biota, it is highly recommended to use natural ingredients that are not carcinogenic, one of which is red betel leaves (Piper crocatum). This study aims to determine the best dose of red betel leaf extract (P. crocatum) mixed in Vannamei shrimp feed to prevent vibriosis. In this study, shrimps were reared for 40 days at a density of 20 fish/container. The treatments included positive control, P1 (without extract + bacterial infection), negative control P2 (without extract and without bacterial infection), P3 (0.5% extract + bacterial infection), P4 (1% extract + infection), and P5 (2% extract + bacterial infection). The application of red betel leaf extract at a dose of 0.5% resulted in 75% survival after infection with V. parahaemolyticus, Vannamei shrimps of THC 7.70×106 cells/mL, and DHC (hyaline 82.94% granular 20.10%). The number of bacteria and the number of vibrio in the intestine were 52×108 CFU/mL and 12×108 CFU/mL accordingly. The best dose was obtained at P3 (Feed +0.5% red betel leaf extract), seen from the increase in survival rate, the number of hemocytes, differential haemocyte counts, and a decrease in total bacteria, so the application of red betel leaf extract can be used in the cultivation of Vannamei shrimps as an immunostimulant.
