Abstract

Abstract

This study emphasizes the importance of cultivating reading habits from an early age to support the success of the School Literacy Movement (Gerakan Literasi Sekolah or GLS) through the Angkringan Baca Program. The program revitalizes the school library to create a more inviting space that encourages student engagement with books. Conducted as part of the Collaborative Action Plan (RAK) of Teaching Campus 7, this community service project employed the Participatory Action Research (PAR) method. The project, implemented from February to June 2024 at SDN Bujel 3 in Kediri, targeted students from grades I to VI. The intervention was carried out in four stages, each designed to progressively increase student involvement. The results demonstrated a consistent rise in library visits each month, correlating with heightened interest in reading. This increased interest significantly enhanced students’ literacy skills, contributing to the broader goals of GLS by fostering critical thinking and academic success.

Abstract

This study explores how employee experience, mental toughness, psychological wellbeing, and work motivation influence organizational commitment and job performance among Generation Z in Indonesia. Drawing on data from the Central Statistics Agency (2020), which indicates Generation Z's dominance in the Indonesian workforce (27.94%), this research adopts a survey design with 330 respondents from the Jabodetabek area. Using the PLS-SEM approach, the study finds that these factors positively and significantly impact organizational commitment. Moreover, organizational commitment mediates the relationship between these variables and job performance. These findings emphasize the importance of nurturing organizational commitment, especially among Generation Z, who seek supportive workplaces promoting psychological wellbeing and offering career growth opportunities. Thus, organizations should devise tailored strategies to foster employee wellbeing, motivation, and commitment for sustainable success.

Abstract

The study sought to determine how job placement and promotion influenced employee performance, with work motivation serving as an intervening variable. The study is a descriptive, explanatory quantitative study. The population and sample size total 117 people. Data was acquired by questionnaire distribution and analysed using path analysis and the Sobel test. The study's findings indicate that job placement has a positive impact on employee motivation. Promotion has a favourable impact on employee motivation. The direct effect of work placement on employee performance was greater than the indirect effect of work placement through work motivation, showing that the direct effect is more powerful than the indirect effect. Because the direct effect of promotions on employee performance is greater than the indirect effect of promotions through work motivation, the direct effect takes precedence over the indirect effect. Work motivation, according to the study, entirely buffers the impact of job location and promotion on employee performance.

Abstract

High employee turnover, especially among Generation Z, poses a serious challenge for organizational performance in the financial sector. Understanding how compensation, psychological empowerment, and job satisfaction affect turnover intention is essential for effective retention strategies. The purpose of this study was to explore several factors considered to influence turnover intention among Gen Z employees, namely compensation and psychological empowerment, and to examine the potential of job satisfaction as a mediator. This research approach was quantitative, with data collected through an online survey distributed to Generation Z employees specifically working in financial companies. For data analysis, the researcher used the Partial Least Squares–Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) approach. The results of the research indicated that receiving adequate compensation plays a crucial role in reducing employees’ intention to quit their jobs. However, compensation did not significantly increase job satisfaction, indicating that financial rewards alone are not sufficient to drive satisfaction among Generation Z. Conversely, psychological empowerment positively and significantly increased job satisfaction, but did not directly suppress turnover intention. Meanwhile, the link between job satisfaction and turnover intention was not found to be influenced by compensation or empowerment. Instead, factors such as career growth, clarity of purpose, and a healthy work-life balance were deemed to have a stronger impact on Gen Z employees’ decision to stay with a company. The implications of this study suggest the need for effective retention strategies to balance competitive compensation with empowerment initiatives to foster loyalty and satisfaction.
