Abstract

Purpose – This study aims to explore how Generation Z in East Java interprets and internalises financial values transmitted by millennial parents amid the dominance of digital technology and social media. Specifically, it examines how family financial teachings are renegotiated in the context of digital algorithms, peers, and contemporary consumer culture.Methodology – A qualitative phenomenological approach was employed to explore Gen Z's lived experiences of financial socialization. Data were gathered through semi-structured interviews with 25 Gen Z individuals and several millennial parents. Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis (IPA) was used to generate themes and interpret meaning-making processes across cases.Findings – Four primary themes were discerned: (1) parental modeling, wherein daily financial routines cultivated prudence and budgeting skills; (2) financial conversations, characterized by dialogic negotiation that promoted reasoning and deferred gratification; (3) digital finance negotiation, where participants integrated parental norms with fintech practices, resulting in hybrid financial values; and (4) identity and social comparison, illustrating the tensions between familial values and social media-induced lifestyle pressures.Contribution – Financial value internalization among Indonesian Gen Z is both intergenerational and sociotechnical. The findings point out the need for financial education that integrates digital literacy, awareness of algorithmic influence, and strategies to manage social comparison pressures.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan bentuk serta faktor penyebab terjadinya alih kode dan campur kode dalam vlog YouTube Keluarga Bacil. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan desain analisis isi (content analysis). Data penelitian berupa tuturan lisan yang terdapat dalam satu video vlog Keluarga Bacil yang dipilih secara purposive sampling karena mengandung fenomena kebahasaan yang kaya. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui metode simak dan pencatatan dengan cara menonton video secara berulang, mentranskripsikan tuturan, serta mengklasifikasikan data sesuai kategori alih kode dan campur kode. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dalam video vlog yang dianalisis terdapat fenomena alih kode dan campur kode. Bentuk alih kode yang ditemukan adalah alih kode eksternal, yaitu peralihan bahasa dari bahasa Indonesia ke bahasa Thailand serta dari bahasa Inggris ke bahasa Thailand. Berdasarkan hasil analisis, ditemukan empat data alih kode eksternal, yang terdiri atas dua data alih kode dari bahasa Indonesia ke bahasa Thailand dan dua data alih kode dari bahasa Inggris ke bahasa Thailand. Alih kode tersebut dipengaruhi oleh beberapa faktor, yaitu faktor lawan tutur, kehadiran orang ketiga, perubahan topik pembicaraan, dan tujuan membangkitkan humor. Selain itu, penelitian ini juga menemukan sebelas data campur kode yang meliputi penyisipan kata, frasa, perulangan kata, klausa, baster, dan idiom yang berasal dari bahasa Inggris dan bahasa Thailand. Faktor penyebab terjadinya campur kode meliputi faktor sikap penutur (attitude type) dan faktor kebahasaan (linguistic type). Penelitian ini memberikan kontribusi terhadap kajian sosiolinguistik dengan menunjukkan dinamika penggunaan bahasa dalam media digital, khususnya vlog keluarga, sebagai refleksi interaksi sosial masyarakat multibahasa.

Abstract

This study aimed to examine the effect of the Project Based Learning (PjBL) model on students’ learning motivation and critical thinking skills in fourth-grade Natural and Social Sciences (IPAS) classes in Magelang Regency. The study was motivated by the relatively low levels of students’ learning motivation and critical thinking skills in IPAS instruction, which has predominantly been conducted using conventional teaching methods. Therefore, a more active, contextual, and student-centered learning model was considered necessary. This research employed a quantitative approach using a quasi-experimental method with a non-equivalent control group design. The sample consisted of an experimental class taught using the PjBL model and a control class taught using conventional instruction. The research instruments included a learning motivation questionnaire and a critical thinking skills test, both of which had been tested for validity and reliability. The data were analyzed using MANOVA to determine the effect of the PjBL model on both dependent variables simultaneously and partially. The results indicated that the Project Based Learning model had a significant effect on students’ learning motivation and critical thinking skills, both partially and simultaneously. Thus, the implementation of PjBL was proven to be effective in improving the quality of IPAS learning in elementary schools and in strengthening students’ critical thinking skills and learning motivation.

Abstract

The role of economic education in the family is the main foundation in shaping the economic behavior of a child. The part of economic education in the family of grocery store owners is expected to be able to develop entrepreneurial attitudes, abilities, and skills so that it has an impact on self-efficiency and able to increase entrepreneurial motivation. This study aims to help parents of business owners to try to find out and understand children's interests in entrepreneurship and how to instill an entrepreneurial spirit in children from an early age in their daily lives so that they can be helpful as a provision for future careers. The research method used is descriptive qualitative with phenomenological research type. The results showed that the application of family education in instilling an entrepreneurial spirit in the families of grocery store owners had been carried out well. The entrepreneurial spirit can be seen in implementing entrepreneurial values: honest, disciplined, confident, responsible, future-oriented, and willing to take risks. Three methods are considered effective in achieving these values: the habituation method, the coaching method, and the dialogue method. The results of the economic education process in instilling an entrepreneurial spirit can create children who can be rational, altruistic, and have economic morality.
