Abstract

Background: The implementation of deep learning-based instruction not only offers a more adaptive and personalized approach to student needs, but also requires teacher readiness and increased competency to implement it effectively in the classroom. Therefore, the goal of this community service activity is to improve the professional competence of junior high school teachers in Mempawah. so that they are able to design and implement learning processes that are more meaningful, creative, and oriented towards developing students' high-level thinking skills. Contribution: This training provides a real contribution in improving teachers' professional competence while helping teachers understand the concepts, implementation strategies, and evaluation techniques of deep learning- based learning, so that they can be applied in teaching and learning activities. Method: This community service activity was implemented using a descriptive qualitative approach through lectures, discussions, and training. The material presented by lecturers and students included an introduction to the basic concepts of deep learning, their application in learning, and relevant implementation strategies. Results: The training results demonstrated improved teacher competency in implementing deep learning- based instruction. Eighty-five percent of participants were able to design meaningful learning activities. This indicates the training's positive impact on improving teachers' pedagogical skills. Conclusion: This training shows that teachers need systematic planning, the role of a facilitator in implementation, and authentic evaluation of the Solo Taxonomy.

Abstract

Ka' Jubata," the phrase "Tutuh Nya' Tiop, Akal Nya' Midop" is originate from the Dayak ethnic in Sanggau Regency. It is occasionally used as an opening greeting before delivering a speech. It carries the meaning “Even if our clothes are made of bark, our minds must stay alive.” This moral philosophy and life values of the Dayak people emphasized the importance of simplicity and wisdom. This research aim is to explore the philosophy's meaning which embodies the local wisdom and its role in promoting cultural sustainability in education. The objective is to analyze the philosophy on educational practices. The scope of this research covers educational sets within the society that actively embrace this wisdom. This research is a qualitative research design using ethnographic methods. Data were collected through participatory observation, in-depth interviews with cultural leaders, and documentation of cultural artifacts. Analytical instruments include thematic analysis and content categorization to interpret meanings and applications of the philosophy in educational activities. The findings reveal that philosophy embodies values of simplicity, intellectual vitality, and cultural resilience, reflecting the community’s philosophy wisdom and knowledge guide human life despite material limitations. These values can serve as the foundation for culturally responsive education that promotes moral integrity and sustainable cultural preservation. The study concludes that integrating “Tutuh nya’ tiop, akal nya’ midop” into educational practice strengthens local identity and supports the continuity of Dayak moral philosophy in modern learning contexts.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the principal’s coaching strategy in developing teachers’ pedagogical competence at SMA Negeri 3 Sanggau, to identify supporting and inhibiting factors, and to analyze its impact on teaching and learning. The research employed a qualitative approach with a case study design. Informants involved included the principal, vice principal for curriculum, six teachers, and two students. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation, and analyzed using data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings show that the coaching strategy was implemented through the stages of pre-supervision, observation, and post-supervision, emphasizing reflection, collaborative dialogue, and constructive feedback. Supporting factors included the principal’s supportive leadership, an open school culture, and educational policy support. The main obstacles were teacher resistance, limited time, and lack of understanding of the coaching concept.The impact of coaching was evident in the improvement of teachers’ pedagogical competence, particularly in understanding learning concepts, designing interactive learning, and conducting reflective evaluation. This study highlights the importance of the principal’s role as a coach in academic supervision to create effective and sustainable learning.

Abstract

This study aimed to analyze the implementation of the principal’s academic supervision in improving the quality of teachers’ instruction at SD Negeri 17 Pontianak Kota. The research employed a qualitative method with a case study approach. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews, direct observation, and documentation, and analyzed using the interactive model of Miles, Huberman, and Saldana. The findings revealed that academic supervision was implemented systematically through three main stages: needs-based planning, collaborative implementation using multiple methods, and continuous evaluation and follow-up. This implementation had a significant impact on improving teachers’ pedagogical and professional competencies, as well as transforming teachers’ perceptions of supervision from mere monitoring into professional guidance. It can be concluded that structured, collaborative, and continuous academic supervision is effective in enhancing the quality of teaching. Key success factors include strong leadership commitment, active teacher involvement, a humanistic approach, proper documentation, and adequate resource support.

Abstract

This study analyzed the implementation of a character education program at SD Negeri 24, Pontianak Kota District. The focus included the role of the principal, policy substance, communication strategies, implementation by teachers and students, and the achievement of program goals. A descriptive qualitative approach was employed, with data collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The findings revealed that: (1) the principal acted as a policy initiator through the flagship program “7 Habits of Great Indonesian Children,” collaboratively developed; (2) the character education policy integrated values such as religiosity, discipline, honesty, cooperation, independence, courage, creativity, and environmental awareness into various school activities; (3) program communication was effectively conducted through coordination meetings, WhatsApp groups, and school social media; (4) teachers and students actively participated as implementers through daily habituation and classroom learning; and (5) the program successfully fostered positive student behavior despite challenges in monitoring digital device usage. The study recommends maintaining implementation consistency, enhancing teacher capacity, and strengthening collaboration with parents to optimize character education in elementary schools.

Abstract

Transformational leadership is an important factor in facing educational challenges in the digital age, which demands innovation, collaboration, and improved teacher competence. This study aims to analyze the role of transformational leadership in improving teacher motivation and skills in Border Areas in the digital era. The research subjects include teachers and principals of senior high schools in the Indonesia-Malaysia border region. The approach used is a mixed method, which is a combination of quantitative and qualitative methods. Data were collected through questionnaires to obtain a quantitative picture of teachers' perceptions of principal leadership, and interviews to explore a more comprehensive understanding of transformational leadership practices in schools. Data analysis was performed using descriptive statistical techniques and thematic analysis. The results of the study show that transformational leadership plays a significant role in increasing teacher work motivation, strengthening professional commitment, and encouraging the development of digital skills relevant to the demands of 21st-century learning. Principals who apply a transformational leadership style are able to create a work environment that is inspiring and adaptive to technological changes. This study recommends the need for digital leadership training programs for principals to strengthen their ability to motivate and empower teachers in the era of educational transformation

Abstract

Era pendidikan yang semakin kompetitif timbul problematika yang tidak kunjung usai seperti kurangnya penerapan strategi manajemen SDM berbasis motivasi, beban kerja yang tinggi dan kurangnya dukungan institusi, minimnya sistem insentif, lingkungan kerja yang kurang mendukung, kurangnya penghargaan dan apresiasi terhadap guru, ketidakmampuan manajemen dalam mendukung adaptasi teknologi. Untuk, itu diperlukan pemecahan masalah untuk meminimalisir sebagai upaya pengendaliannya. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif berbasis kepustakaan (library research), yang mengumpulkan dan menganalisis data dari berbagai sumber pustaka terkait. Dengan metode deskriptif analitis, data disusun dan diinterpretasikan secara sistematis untuk menjawab rumusan masalah. Skema induktif digunakan untuk memudahkan analisis dalam menjawab pertanyaan penelitian. Motivasi berperan penting dalam optimalisasi Sumber Daya Manusia (SDM), khususnya dalam meningkatkan kinerja guru di organisasi pendidikan. Baik motivasi intrinsik maupun ekstrinsik Pemahaman terhadap teori motivasi seperti Hierarki Kebutuhan Maslow dan Teori Dua Faktor Herzberg membantu manajemen SDM menciptakan lingkungan kerja yang mendukung, mengurangi ketidakpuasan, serta meningkatkan motivasi guru dalam segala aktivitasnya. Optimalisasi kinerja guru melalui manajemen SDM yang berkelanjutan menjadi strategi penting dalam peningkatan kualitas pendidikan sehingga dapat menjadi harapan untuk mendidik generasi penerus yang unggul, berjiwa daya saing dan kompetitif. Dukungan berupa pelatihan berkelanjutan, kesejahteraan, dan keterlibatan aktif dalam pengambilan keputusan memungkinkan guru berperan lebih optimal.

Abstract

Metode penelitian kuantitatif memainkan peran penting dalam penelitian ilmiah, terutama dalam menghasilkan data yang objektif dan dapat diukur. Metode ini banyak digunakan untuk menjawab pertanyaan penelitian yang memerlukan analisis berbasis angka dan statistik. Penulisan artikel ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji konsep dasar, jenis-jenis, tahapan, dan kelebihan metode penelitian kuantitatif. Penulisan artikel dilakukan melalui pendekatan studi literatur dengan mengumpulkan data dari berbagai dokumen, jurnal ilmiah, buku dan literatur. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah studi dokumentasi, sedangkan analisis data dilakukan menggunakan analisis literatur untuk mengidentifikasi, mengevaluasi, dan mensintesis temuan-temuan utama tentang metode penelitian kuantitatif. Hasil kajian diharapkan dapat memberikan pemahaman mendalam tentang metode penelitian kuantitatif dan menjadi salah satu referensi teoritis dalam memilih dan menerapkan metode penelitian kuantitatif.

Abstract

The objective of this study is to examine the strategy of financing education in private schools. Based on research conducted by researcher, studies on education financing strategies during the Covid-19 pandemic have not been widely carried out. The research method was conducted through literature studies from national and international journals, government policy documents, and books. Data analysis used qualitative descriptive approach. The results of the study show that the strategy of financing education during the Covid 19 pandemic mostly goes well with the policy alignments from the government through internet data quota assistance, affirmation and performance School Operational Assistance, scholarships, wage subsidies, and Single Tuition in universities. However, there are several schools, especially private schools that have difficulty paying teacher's salary, teacher welfare declines, and parents who are late paying educational management contribution. The strategy for education financing solutions during the COVID-19 pandemic is that government policies in the form of assistance to students and parents need to be continued, consistency of budget planning by schools, use of budgets that prioritize priority scales, and transparency and accountability in the management of education financing.
